Sad that there's no comic, but it's still nice of you Rick to inform us on what's going on.

A Rick in the nip pops up,
his aim to educate and elucidate,
telling us what's going on
and of the things on his plate.
Sharpening plot by softening images,
clearing up the little matter.
Telling of strains abounding
with his usual class patter.
We'll wait, good sir, we'll wait.
Until Friday at least we'll hover.
Wondering what happened to Gale
and what's caused all this bother.

The edits genuinely DO help a lot. I really, REALLY understand what Rick is up against here, so no problem. =)

...oh my god! A "no comic" comic? we haven't had one since... before I started commenting!

Re: 2018/09/12 - Another Intermission
I have three comments. Really one comment and two questions.
1. I know people got confused but really though? And did people really think that thing about a “time loop” or is Rick being dramatic to prove a point about how ridiculous the entire thing is?
2. I’m glad the originals are still on the site because those updated ones are I definitely prefer the originals because as I said before I like seeing the actual grays of Miles and Lucretia instead of them being filtered.
3. Who is West?

2. I'm mixed, honestly, but you have your choices, now.
3. Rick's fursona, West of Heaven, the kangaroo shown here.

Re: 2018/09/12 - Another Intermission
Okay, now I am getting the new version of Monday's panel on my computer but the original on my iPad so weird.
And is West of Heaven something I should know like is that just the name of the character or something he wrote/made?
Update: after looking through his twitter page I have seen things that impressed and scared me. But did kinda answer the question. There were things I will never unsee and made me feel things.
This is why I use italic for flashbacks in my writing.
I can understand taking time off at this point.
Can I recommend that we use the originals when the Book 11 comes out?

Check out Lightning Dogs on the Nerdyshow Podcast Network
It's an in-development animated series following a team of Anthro-Dogs trapped in the Wastelands of a ruined Earth.

I didn't realize that the last three panels of Friday's page were a flashback until Monday's page went up, so I'm glad that got clarified for people who read through the archives, as I can definitely understand people's confusion there.

Re: 2018/09/12 - Another Intermission
I didn't realize West of Heaven was so... stripy. Maybe it's just the HP style increasing the contrast. Because he doesn't have a tag, is this the only comic not to have any characters tagged (guest comics don't count)? For that matter, why is this filed under "Guest Week" instead of "115. Call o' th' Wild" or "One-offs"? Arcs normally start on Monday, and end on Friday, so are we going to get one more or two fewer strips in this arc, or will the discrepancy be made up some other time? Because people who discover Housepets! after today or people who were simply took a break from reading are going to ask "Wha!? He changed it?! What was it like before? How is it different?" I'm including the originals at the bottom of my post.
2. Where are they on the site? From my point of view the edited versions replaced the old versions and the URL has been overwritten. The page I had left up still shows the old ones, so maybe you're just seeing the cached version.
3. West of Heaven is Rick's new fursona, though it won't completely replace the Furret (Furret seen here). The kangaroo hasn't shown up before and isn't tagged so you'd only recognize him if you visited one of his other sites. Incidentally, the author signs his work "Rick Griffin", but that's not his real name, it's the Furret character's name. It's best not to overthink how it would work if he got rid if the Furret fursona completely.
1. It may not have been a big deal to most, but it was to some, and anyone reading through the archives now how would've been confused by the flashback will now enjoy the comic more.fenrirblack wrote:I have three comments. Really one comment and two questions.

That'll update with your browser's cache, I believe.fenrirblack wrote:Okay, now I am getting the new version of Monday's panel on my computer but the original on my iPad so weird.
West doesn't really come up on the forum much, so if you don't follow Rick on FurAffinity, deviantArt, Weasyl, RickGriffinStudios.com, Tumblr, or Twitter, it's understandable you wouldn't be familiar.fenrirblack wrote:And is West of Heaven something I should know like is that just the name of the character or something he wrote/made?
I could imagine the flashback panels being slanted, as though italicized.fenrirblack wrote:This is why I use italic for flashbacks in my writing. ;)
Rick's not actually taking time off.fenrirblack wrote:I can understand taking time off at this point.
I anticipate the less ambiguous version of the strip will be published, meaning the current one.fenrirblack wrote:Can I recommend that we use the originals when the Book 11 comes out?

It's alright, Rick! We know it's a lot of work. Take your time!
And thanks for clarifying about the previous comics I wasn't sure if Miles' conversation with Gale in the cave was a flashback.

Re: 2018/09/12 - Another Intermission
I'll admit. With the last 2 pages, I went from "Not liking this" to "Really not liking this", then finally to "Wait, I don't understand this." Now that I know this was meant as a flashback, it not only makes sense now, but the possibility of growth between these characters can be had, which is a relief imo because it initially seemed like it went dead-end.

Just as happy to see the creator enter his own creation and look cute doing so. ^^
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

R.I.P to the readers who got a shocking realization today about flashbacks.
Gale is not a timelord.

Re: 2018/09/12 - Another Intermission
I think part of the problem is that the Sepia Flashback begun on a sunset/sunrise panel, and sunsets do weird things with light that we expect and can ignore. Only in this case we were ignoring what was supposed to be a major clue of a timejump.
Re: 2018/09/12 - Another Intermission
Oh! My first interruption since when I follow the comic! And, it's the second one since many years... Alright Rick, enjoy the furry con. Such a cute 'roo.
I see the changes done, the colors are made to make the flashback look like old photos. Well done. Now, I think that it has to be done also to the second and third panels of this strip, since they're flashbacks, too.

Have a great time, Rick! Look forward to Friday … which, when you're retired, you no longer do so much.

I knew Rick wasn't his real name (and thanks to ordering a signed copy of book 2 through the mail I know his real name) but I thought Rick Griffin was a pen name AND the name of his old furretsona.mr_abomination wrote:Wait what? Correct, Rick Griffin is a pen name. Rick also has characters named Rick, including a Furret.
