Re: Art Thread
Kitch varies in physique, though I personally like when he's drawn somewhat less than fit. But this works for the particular subject.
Re: Art Thread
The white looks fine I think. Just need to adjust the boarder a little. Try looking at how real fur patterns look.Cm4F wrote:Well this is the first time that I have really sat down and colored something.
I'm not going to change the white b/c that's how I originally pictured it and I like it that way.
But thanks for the advice =^.^=

In other news, Pea is a nerd
I would challenge yourself (that was a dumb sentence structure, but anyways) to work with a smaller color pallet (palate?). I think character designs usually look stronger when they've got a few dominant colors.
I don't think the white head is that big a deal, other than losing contrast with dem eyebawlz.Cm4F wrote:I Finally Finished Coloring Him!!!!

I don't. they're jack hammering one of the first three walls. the fourth wall should need to have the jack hammer pointed towards the audience and have the screen cracked a little.Seth wrote:I see what you did there..........Tattorack wrote:)

If I were to be obnoxiously tropey, I would point out that the current image better demonstrates painting than breaking the fourth wall.RandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:I don't. they're jack hammering one of the first three walls. the fourth wall should need to have the jack hammer pointed towards the audience and have the screen cracked a little.Seth wrote:I see what you did there..........Tattorack wrote:)

Re: Art Thread
By some circumstance, I saw a picture of the same character moments ago. The character's got some awesome artwork. I could link to his FA page, but some of his stuff is a little borderline.
Re: Art Thread
I thought the watermark in the upper left corner was big enough. "Falvie" Drew it. XP

So I'm pretty sure that big watermark should be clear enough, and as far as I know, Falvie's pretty good and she doesn't really do adult/mature artwork, or atleast I haven't found any, yet. Aside from some dodgy words on the FA page. Character's Hybrid's as linked above, and no explicit stuff on his gallery either.
Re: Art Thread
She does nudity, but it's almost always "tasteful". Just keep your mature filter on if you don't wanna see.CY_Law wrote:Falvie's pretty good and she doesn't really do adult/mature artwork

Re: Art Thread
Ah I'll rephrase it then, I was an art student for more than 2 years, and I have seen(and drew) enough artistic nude that it doesn't really matters if the figure's covered in fur or not.
Naked furries are far more common and more acceptable by the audiences than their human counterpart, nowadays anyway.

Re: Art Thread
Oh. Somehow i presumed that "falvie" was another name for the character, because it was placed between the name after the "copyright", which i PRESUMED was the character, and not the art. O_o and the person who seems to have requested uses a name "sunny", which my mind somehow automatically associated with "summer"... and.. yeah. Nevermind then. XD Probably the result of me assuming a lot of things and generally not paying attention. Dxpeople talking about the watermarks

Ohh Souji, you and your habit of drawing long tounges on everything.
It looks good, but something in it seems a little off to me. Maybe it is just that with the outline around the fox, it does not seem like he fits in all to well with the background?

Re: Art Thread
So, I've been feeling so self-conscious about my artwork. I mean that is if I may call myself an artist. However, I can't let any doubt get in my way of being an artist. These are drawings of some old dead musician guys. The guy in the middle was so hard to draw. The reference I had, the only reference available, was a small image of a really old photograph. Any real detail was for the most part washed out because the photo is overexposed. I just found a larger image of the face but I think that's just an enlarged portion of the photo and not an actual close-up. I just have a much easier time when my references are large and detailed. That seems to be the case for even drawing a cartoon version of a person.

Hehe, that's a good expression. I'd perk up the left (his left) side of his face, though, it looks like it's drooping a bit, if you see what I mean.Souji wrote:

Here, have an unwieldy image that's not of convenient proportions to post at all.
Drew this for Precocious' 1000th strip, which ran a few days ago. Click it for full size.
Re: Art Thread
i r best artast evhar.
I tried to sort of ink it with a tablet. I like the effect it gave the original drawing.
I'd like some honest feedback on this. I'm really trying to get better at drawing birds.
Re: Art Thread
The drawing itself is good. The lines, as I'm sure you've noticed, are a little wonky. The most common way to fix this is to work with an image larger than you intend the finished project to be, and then scale it down. (Or just zoom in, but changing the actual image size sometimes works better.)
EDIT: I'm not sure if that is a good explanation, so let me illustrate:
Here I have quickly traced a circle at 100% zoom. Not very nice looking.
Here, I have zoomed in to about 600%, and still traced the circle quickly, but much more precisely after I zoomed back out to normal size.
Could still be better if I took the time to clean it up, but the difference is quite obvious.
Aside from that, the tips of the feathers could perhaps be more pointed than rounded, but again, it is pretty good.
