I like the way Squeak's juuuuust popping into view in panel one.
Back we go to the real world
And Joey’s pleased as punch
Until a voice tickles his ear
And lets him in on a hunch.
He’s cheated and he’s traced,
Spoiling his own improvement;
Forgetting his own lessons,
Becoming his worst impediment.
He can’t even see Joey’s angry
As usual, he’s oblivious to it all.
Squeak may be able to calm him
But bad call, Peanut, bad call.

Re: 2016/01/25 - Bookend
I know that Rick had stated that these strips where modeled from old Superman comics, but did he really traced them from actual Superman comics? It would definitely explain the narration.

Yeah, Joey should just let it go for now.IdleCurator wrote:Squeak: now now Joey "Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know".
Also, really, Peanut? It's fine if you do it for your own fun of it, but trying to turn it in as work? Be grateful that money can buy patience.

To be fair, Spot never did any punching

Gasp! You mean Peanut plagiarized instead of creating comics from his own overactive imagination!? No!

Much disappoint Peanut!
Also find it funny that Joey didn't recognise the tracings first, he really thought Peanut was learning.

So that's why he was running in the air.
Re: 2016/01/25 - Bookend
Peanut? cheating? Perish the thought! Though him taking shortcuts surprises me. X3
At least he got better at coloring, so that's a plus? =P

Well, he did apply what Joey taught him.
If I hit someone with a dictionary is that physical, or verbal assault?

Oddly enough i'm not sure why Joey is so upset.... Because he was imitating an art form or because he hates Superman?
Re: 2016/01/25 - Bookend
Because Peanut cheated making him believe he was drawing really nice when he was only copying Superman.Adoring Fan wrote:Oddly enough i'm not sure why Joey is so upset.... Because he was imitating an art form or because he hates Superman?

I've noticed that Rick has been including little white highlights in the eyes of characters a lot more lately. Then again, the comic's design has been continuously changing since the Christmas 2008 strip so what do I know, huh?

Yay! Joey and Peanut are back. Well, we had to know the nerd's opinion, and I agree with him. And Squeak is a nerd too, apparently. So, Peanut copied from real old Superman's comics? Nobody noticed that... Yeah, go out (for today)! Anyway, his art isn't that bad, it deserves a place at the Peanut Gallery.

And I like Joey's expression in the same, smugly satisfied with his teaching skills.Saturn381 wrote:I love Peanut's face in panel one.

Joey really IS spending too much time around his brother/cousin Bino because that is exactly how Bino would act in a situation.

Peanut, armed only with his artistic ability, becomes a master troller!

The animated signature I've used for years is too big for this forum! When I get time, I'll have to deconstruct it and make it smaller!

Personally, I think the behavior is closer to Lester, as I said earlier.Amazee Dayzee wrote:Joey really IS spending too much time around his brother/cousin Bino because that is exactly how Bino would act in a situation.

Re: 2016/01/25 - Bookend
It's funny, but looking at this comic from a long time ago, Peanut sure accepted Joey pretty quick after thinking he was creepy at first. This is not a bad thing - I think they are more alike than we realize, and it shows. :3

Actually it's been like three years, so I wouldn't exactly say it was a 'quick acceptance.' Unless peanut didn't realize how much time had already past.GameCobra wrote:It's funny, but looking at this comic from a long time ago, Peanut sure accepted Joey pretty quick after thinking he was creepy at first. I don't think that Peanut thinks that anybody really is truly creepy so he probably just didn't have a lot to do with him.

Simple, use the comics that nobody ever read! And change around the words, the discarded ones by the creators.Amazee Dayzee wrote:How would one go about hiding that?

But what if the comics that nobody reads aren't the poses that Peanut needed?

I'm sure peanut could think of something. Maybe he could sketch the templates of different comics all into one, so instead of just using one he'd be using many, then that could solve his problem...Amazee Dayzee wrote:But what if the comics that nobody reads aren't the poses that Peanut needed?
Does anyone else find it weird that I'm so good at cheating?
