Nah, that would be pretty easy to make on my own, and it wouldn't really fit the "vibe" of the Apparition.

Haven't touched the foods yet, but taking a quick peek at the food icons for the game, here's what i got:

Apple
Bread
Cheese
Grapes
Berries
Sausages
Broccoli
Tomato
carrot
garlic
fish
blueberries
potatoes
meat (note: very hard to tell what kind of meat. It's just meat)
mushroom
nuts
orange
chicken egg
large egg

don't see any junk food icons, but the paper bag can luckily be a substitute :3

The way i see it, if you want to use the foods DRock suggested, we can use the paper bag one. However, i would recommend~

Apple: HP
Blueberries: MP
Meat: Strength
Sausages: Defense
Fish: MATK
Garlic: MDEF
orange: Speed

Not sure about luck. Chicken Egg? We could, humorously use D-Rock's junk food idea for Luck.

Also, the Betamax/VHS deal is once again at a tie, even if we add in other unsaid votes. Chaoko was the one who suggested VHS to me when I told him my initial idea. I was only going to do the floppy to tie in with the Apparition better, but of these two, I'd go with Betamax. So yeah, once again tied.

Also, Cobra, I believe that Chaoko said that he would make individual icon sprites for the items when we're near completion. He's only done a Fun Ball sprite for practice, so far.

I would still like to include the foods that are in the engine, but there's still the issue of the whole "carnivore/herbivore" thing. Plus, do NOT use garlic. It's toxic to both dogs and cats and easily fatal.

So if there's no real objection, I'll eventually get to drawing the stat items.

The ones I submitted. Now, I do want to do the ones you found as well. If we can manage the "not everyone can use all items" idea, how about they have added effects in battle. Persona 3 had items that restored moderate health but had a good chance of a negative status effect. For this, we could add 8n short-term benefits.

Pretty sure that's why i added the dust earlier for in-game battles =P

I don't mind. If we can change it sometime in the future, that would be splendid, but i don't mind taking a different route for this one since we know Zach will be a bit tricky. :3

What makes these different is the fact that they heal a bit as well, while the powders simply provide a buff.

Wow, I really need to start coming to this thread more often. I see a lot of work has been done on the game.

If I can throw in my opinion, I prefer VHS, but Betamax would be cool too.

And also, sorry if this has been asked before, but is there some kind of demo of this game made? The last one I saw used filler elements and sprites to show the basic start of the story. Nothing Housepets in it really.

That middle bottle will be used for both the Yggdrasil Root Beer and Idun's Apple Cider. I ended up dropping the Amrita Bar after I remembered the root beer. Frankly, I don't know why I forget the one that I mentioned earliest as one of the inspirations. I would've posted this sooner, but rains knocked out my internet for about three hours. Already made progress on the lining.

Alright, so what i did was started making the database for monsters to pass time and putting them into the database so we don't forget and included the custom characters we mentioned awhile back with their own custom moves. The game cap for monsters that can be created is set to 500 right now and i might move it up to 1000. It can get as big as you want. This just makes it easier to organize things. This may take some time, so I better start asking these questions:

How many monsters on average do you want in the game? I would think on average between either 450 or 900.
How many boss characters do you want? Guessing around 50-100.

Okay, Nue and Olde got their own slots because I remember that when the party would first encounter him in a hopeless boss fight, they'll think it's only Nue, with Olde revealing himself afterwards to show that he was holding back. Olde was initially thought to have a standalone battle in a nightmare sequence, that I suggested be a modified version of the Halloween demo.

And I still haven't drawn up the images for the musicians, mainly because I don't think I have the skill to. I was able to whip up the apparition using an artists mannequin that I bought a long while ago. Maybe my next day off, I'll see about whipping up their designs, as there aren't enough usable people images in the comic for me to simply do a recolor. Also, still need direct input on one of their instruments. Keypad or Keytar? Still going for the latter, but what about everyone else?

Speaking of opinions, VHS is in the lead. I'll leave it open until Tuesday, so anyone else who hasn't said anything, last chance.

And by the way, Cobra, care to elaborate on those numbers you chose, because it looks like we would

Well of course you have to outsource them. Just like how i outsourced those cat/dog dummies way back =P

It depends on the stages, but right now i made space for 500 monsters: 450 regular ones and 50 bosses. the monsters i made right now took up just 30 slots altogether reserved for the temple and the mall.

If I could, I'd submit actual images that could be used, because otherwise, it's ALL on Chaoko. It'll be a long while before my style is actually good, even longer if I want to submit something of someone else's style. The Apparition that I sent to Chaoko was a rough concept, at best.

I guess a lot of those boss slots would still get filled for bosses that are fought multiple times, such as for the boss rush, the various forms of Reinhardt, the different forms of Nue and Olde, and maybe at least two for Barghest.

Alright, so i did alot of thinking and made some changes.

To play it safe, i moved the monster slot up to 1000 and used 900 of them for regular monsters while the other 100 will have Boss battles and special encounters. You don't have to fill these ~ they are incase we end up making too many bosses and monsters =P

I'm going to get some time during the summer to create some clones of monsters we made already just like i mentioned about the raccoons a very long time ago, which include anything we might do in the future. A good example is like the bears and dire bears we have already, but now add a Great Dire Bear into the bunch who will look reddish.

I kind of like that for the Great Dire Bear, just remember not to go overboard again with the recolors. I would imagine that three would be the cap on recolors of each.

Oh, yeah, go ahead and add Teox, Bruno, and Bahamut to the boss list. Seriously, why do I also forget the canon characters?

And about the musicians, in order to make things easier on me, I'll see about doing just the busts.

Well, so much for making the images. I'm starting to see some truth in the "Furries are Easier to Draw" trope. Amaranth, Sherry, Peanut, Tarot, and Sudden were tedious, but doable. Making a human face was one big step on "the heck am I trying to do" territory. Maybe I'll try again. Got a basic info list on them. Mostly just random stuff.
