I thought it was my imagination at first, but then I stacked them.

Omnibus 3 and 4 are smaller than omnibus 1 and 2. I don't mean thinner either. They are shorter and narrower.

He released them at the same time. It can't have been THAT hard to adjust them to be the same size.

It can NOT have been that hard to resize the comics a half inch bigger in each direction so the books could match. Worst case scenario, just add a half inch margin.

I don't think Rick thought that it had mattered too much and that we were just happy with getting the books in general. I doubt that there is anything omitted from the books that have smaller margins so he probably thought it wasn't that big of a deal to all of the people who are in the fandom.

The correct answer to the question is always going to be "Why Not" in any sort of situation that you ask about something just as long as you don't ask it like a question. LOL If you REALLY want to know about something, you should ask people to explain instead of going to them and asking "why" when you have a question. LOL

Remember, Rick often got experimental with page layout in later years. They would not have been as easily organized or resized onto a consistent page size as you’d think. Early years were possible because Rick tended to stick to a newspaper comic format, which are standardized.

Which I take to mean basically that it would take a lot more effort or be outright IMPOSSIBLE for Rick to have all of the strips be the same size in the book. I think people that have OCD and want things neat probably would ALSO have massive issues with this but I would imagine Rick would think that they would be grateful to get the books at all.
