Housepets! Trivia: Expert mode answer key

Post by GingaDensetsuAleu »

This is the answer key for the expert mode trivia thread here.

Try out the hard mode here.
Or, try the easy one here.

1. B) Most of the signs at the fair reference or simply say "Corn", a total of 12 times through 15 pages. That's a lot of corn!

2. D) It's difficult to tell the pups apart when they're younger before they develop their fur markings, but they can be told apart by their size and eye color. As a pup, Rockstar Hawk (or as he calls himself when he's younger, Space Laser) is the middle in height, with brown eyes.

3. C) Daisy missed the point of a valentine's card in 2015.

4. B) During the water balloon war, the K-9 officers had their usual vests replaced with green vests marked with authentic US military ranking chevrons. Kevin's had two chevrons on it, marking him as a Corporal.

5. A) If you look deep enough into Rick's work, you'll find the same little creature posing in the logo for Rick's website, through several iterations of the site. This is Ponbon, the spokesman for Rick Griffin Studios!

6. D) Jasper is a reference to Tom and Jerry's Tom the Cat, and even shares his name with an early iteration of the character.

7. B) The monologue is almost word for word the same as Willy Wonka gives Charlie near the end of Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

8. B) The perpetrator- who attempted to murder Keene Milton - was Orwell Johnson, local PETA member. He is shown being arrested and bears a striking resemblance to Joel's partner- he's even wearing the same outfit!

9. C) The pictured tag is a radioactivity symbol, belonging to Duchess's bodyguard, Boris.

10. B) The viper is a pseudonym taken on by Delusional Steve so the mice don't know he's coming. He also puts on an accent, which terrifies Bruce and Roosevelt.

11. C) The whale is a reference to the Wind Fish, a giant flying whale that the player must wake up to finish the game in the Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.

12. A) Although King's wedding featured over 50 characters, Rick couldn't fit them all in. Among those not included were Mr. Bigglesworth, Truck, and Bino. Bino was probably specifically invited NOT to come...

13. C) Cerberus's lip piercing is hard to pin down- at first, she had none, and then it was depicted on Right Cerberus. However, as of Heckraisers, the lip piercing is on Center Cerberus's lower lip.

14. C) Peanut didn't recognize Joel because he was in disguise, but apparently his human scent hadn't come back yet, because he calls him Mr. Dogsmell.

15. C) If you look at Marion's acceptance letter you will see that he has been accepted to the university's Nursing program.

16. A) Apparently, Rick confirmed during a stream that Jack is half coyote.

17. B) The biohazard tag belongs to Yeltsin.

18. C) This K-9 officer rarely appears. His name is Terrance.

19. D) Although Both Pete and Rufus appeared first, neither are deceased at the time, making Spookmaster the first deceased character to appear in "Scaredy Cats."

20. A) Although in the real world, heterochromia is fairly common among dogs, the only Housepets! character to be portrayed with it is Rufus.

21. D) The painting in question is Cassius Marcellus Coolidge's "A friend in Need," one of a series of paintings of dogs playing poker; when the Housepets do it, King is seen holding an ace with his foot.

22. C) When he was first introduced, or at least first colorized, Joey had a green collar just like his brothers. However, his collar is now blue, having debuted a new collar at the Wolves's Christmas party during the arc, "The Unbearable Lightness of Being a Dog."

23. A) Cassia is Cory's sister, who only appeared in one strip.

24. B) Negabreel left several weapons embedded in the wall, including the Master Sword.

25. C) Marion's custom squirrel backpack fits two pens, but probably not a whole lot else.

Bonus: B) Bailey was worried the pups wouldn't grow to like King as much if he didn't act more like a dog. King, however, was unable to complete Ace's tongue bath because he still has his human gag reflex.
Nimius pavor, non satis disco.
