First Bands You Liked
This is the follow-up to my Earliest Memory thread. For reference, I was born on 9/28/1992.
The first song I really liked was "Susie Q." I'm pretty sure it was the 1968 version, but it was the mid-1990s. I played that one on a tape player over and over.
I also liked the song "This Is Your Night" by Amber.
Then I got into most of the boy bands, but only because my older brother liked them. I remember when "Who Let the Dogs Out," "Waiting For Tonight" and "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" were popular. A lot of the hits back then were played at the old Savannah Skating Rink, which I'm sad to say is no more. (I really wish I could find pictures of it online. I know I can find them somewhere).

The first band I was particularly into was Styx. It's my mom's favorite band, so I got exposed to it rather early. I still really like them.

The first thing I liked as a child was Nordman and Marcoolio. But when I went to America, the first thing I remember listening to frequently was Aaron Carter.

you didn't know that?
My first favorite was Linkin Park, followed by Three Days Grace. They're still my favorites, but my love for LP is waning.

When I first started listening to music for real, Dream Theater was the main band that I discovered from no one and decided to love, and to this day they're still at the very least one of my favorites.

I grew up listening to classic rock(thanks to my dad) with bands like Boston, Bad Company, Foreigner, etc... I don't really have a favorite band, but I do prefer the rock/metal genre over any.

Re: First Bands You Liked
Guys. Hey, guys! This thread is for talking about the first bands you liked, not where everyone's from. :) I'll be deleting off-topic posts. In the future, just ignore posts that aren't about the thread's subject instead of responding to them. Better yet, make sure to [report] posts that are off-topic or otherwise rule-breaking. Start talking about bands, please.

First CD I got was either Puddle of Mudd or Trapt. I forget specifically, it was a very similar time. Loved those CDs. Did my homework while listening. They started my music addiction.

I started to get into specific bands when I was about 10 years old when I started to listen to a local classic rock/80's hair metal radio station. So bands like Boston, Kiss, Guns N' Roses and Iron Maiden.

I think the first band I knew multiple songs from was "The Beach Boys." I listened to them taking oatmeal baths when I had chicken pox.

Even though I technically grew up in MA, I grew up listening to country music. Alan Jackson, Faith Hill, Toby Keith, etc. I listened to some pop as well, but country was the main thing for me at the time.
Let me tell you about Homestuck.
