Since I don't work tomorrow, I'm staying up a little bit later than usual to work on the story I've been writing. I'm about 3 chapters from the end and ready to be finished with it, so I'm hoping to finish it by Friday so I can start a new one next week.

Enjoying the war weather while we have it now because at least over here it is going to be brief. It is supposed to go back down again in the next few days which makes me sad because I am done with the cold.

Since I realized I didn't change my avatar for March I decided to split the month of April in half so I could have that avatar I would have had in March up. The first half of the month was the March avatar and the second is going to be the April avatar which is what I have now and it looks like someone else also decided to do that...

Oh I've been changing my avatar every time Dayzee does to see how long it takes her to notice. :P and it's ALWAYS a picture of King.
I'm taking today off from writing so I'm not starting a new story right before the weekend. I'm thinking maybe I play my VR headset that I rarely get to use.

I honestly just thought that you were changing your avatar at the beginning of each month like I was doing to keep things interesting for myself since I don't want to keep my forum avatar the same long term. Also you said your avatar was always a picture of King? What was your last avatar that looked like it came from a cartoon show that you had before this one?

Also today the only thing I am doing is working my shift at my job and then coming home and eating dinner.

So what you are saying then is that all of your avatars will have a King in them but they are not necessarily going to be the King from Housepets! as I understand it? I will be looking forward to when you eventually decide to put up an avatar of King Charles.

Anyway just ate dinner at home and watched the finale of RuPaul's Drag Race. Not sure why I did that because I was annoyed when they cut the front runner of the season for no reason but I have to see things through.

King Charles's name isn't King, it's Charles. I can only have avatars of people whose name is King.

Open house today at the Rye Public Library. Since I spent many hours of my childhood and JrHigh years there, I think of the library as my "third Parent" after Mom and Dad. They've been a little embattled lately so time to show some support.

Time for the annual haircut. It's the twentieth anniversary of my quadruple bypass surgery - was only supposed to be a triple but they threw in a fourth for free.

I know it's going to disappoint some of you to know this, Dayzee especially, but today I started writing the next installment in Scout's story. It was supposed to be yesterday but I got sidetracked and only stared at a blank page (read: my phone) for six hours.

Trying not to stress out about what is going on with my 90-something year old grandaunt who is in hospice because she didn't do too well after falling and laying on the floor all night a few weeks ago. I know that she is reaching the end of her life but it still is hard.

What am I doing now? Grieving mostly at this point. My grandaunt died in hospice last night and I was told when I got home from work. I would have told everybody here sooner but because we still are dealing with DDOS attacks...

I'll let the missus decide. I'm kinda run out from medicals, garage and church work, and catching up on home accountings. Maybe I'll read a couple of the Housepets! collections or some old comic books (got a ton of those!).

I got a cheap laptop used off Ebay, and today I'm going to attempt to install Linux on it. The main purpose of this endeavor is to get it working with a plugin that'll let me run Windows programs so I can get some decent art software up and running. Maybe I'll be able to start creating cover arts to go with my stories.

Heading up to Tilton today. My younger brother's widow, Karen, has finally sold their house and would like us to take any momentoes of our family out soonest so she can finish moving. She's moving about an hour north to live in New Hampshire ski country. Hard not to feel a little grief in all this but she needs to downsize and get on with her life - which she's doing. Well we had another power surge yesterday so our over the range microwave is now off again and I am trying to figure out how to get it to turn back on. My mother says pressing all the GFI buttons did it the lat time but I am pretty sure I got them all and nothing happened.

Went down town to the Music Hall and saw the Glenn Miller Orchestra perform. Yeah, they are still around, still traveling, and still playing the very, very, very OLD "Oldies". They asked all the military veterans to stand for "American Patrol", and the missus made me get up. I'm a little reserved about divulging my service. Good time.

My mother and I went to my sibling's house for dinner as a sort of early Mother's Day get together since my sibling has plans on the actual Mother's Day. It was really fun as we had pizza, mac and cheese and pulled pork.

Got a little bit of a wild day today. Work ran over an hour later than usual, and then I had to stop at the store for ingredients to cook dinner, followed by making pasta salad after my shower, which resulted in me not getting to my computer until 2 in the afternoon, and I still haven't had really anything to eat.

I took today off work just because I didn't feel like it and because what's the point of having PTO if I don't use it. I plan on using the day to write a chapter or two of the story I'm working on, PLUS write a chapter of my first story specifically intended for publication, not affiliated with Housepets in any way. It's gonna be difficult because publication length chapters are going to be longer than my average by a lot.

Sometimes I start a new story with enthusiasm and then by the end of the story it's a struggle just to keep writing it, and the story I've been working on recently has been an EXTRA hard struggle because, while it is a cozy little story, nothing particularly exciting to write has been happening. Thank GOODNESS that I'm writing the final chapter today which, as you're probably aware, tends to be a shorter one. I am SO ready to move on to something else.
