Joy: My co-worker agreed to work for me on the 27th after Christmas meaning that I can go on vacation with the rest of my family to see other family members! It is truly a weight off of me now.

Our sheltie collie, Sophie, died today four years ago at the age of twenty-one. We have two new dogs now, skipperkees, and they're a lot fun but i still miss her deeply. I wish I could enjoy something half as much as Sophie enjoyed everything ...

The ability to see the fun and joy in the everyday is something to be envied.

Been very under the weather recently, not very bright eyed nor busy tailed, realising I need to take time for myself more, rather burnt out to the point of being ill but hopefully on the mend now.

Annoyance: My doctors want me to take ANOTHER blood test tomorrow to see if the abnormalities that showed up the last two times were just a fluke each time or if something is going on. I am fine with blood work but tomorrow I also have to work and on days that I work I like to sleep in.

When I was a toddler, I had the misfortune of stepping on a nail and then getting bitten by a stray dog. As a result, I endured two weeks of constant and painful innoculations which I consistantly greeted with screams, shrieks, howls and attempts to break away - which were sometimes (temprarily) successful.

I now greet blood draws and shots with weary resignation - a facade to disguise that, inside, I'm roaring like an enraged banshee!!

I mean I don't mind having my blood drawn in order to get it tested because they see something wrong with it and I don't think it really hurts that much. What my main issues is though is I have to take time out of my day to get it drawn and it ends up messing up whatever routine I have for that day.

Sorrows: I just learned that Jodi, co-owner and delivery driver of my favorite locally-owned pizzeria, passed away this week. We weren't close, and I don't know details, but I do know it came days after some life-ending violence at the home of her brother-in-law (coincidentally less than a block from my house). I enjoyed chatting with her when she brought my occassional pizza, and we knew each other by name. She will be missed.

Confusion: Even when I do get enough sleep and do have a drink that contains caffeine, for some reason I feel tired when I shouldn't feel tired and don't feel tired when I am going to bed and I don't understand why.

Funeral for my high school chemsitry teacher, Mr. Novak. He moved on from this world a few days ago at the age of 93. A good teacher, good role model, and a just plain good guy.

The site has become unstable. At first I thought it was Rick or someone from the security company doing work in the background, but now I'm thinking it's some kind of recursive error that makes the site crash frequently.

Yeah, the "Bad Gateway" blockage was on again this morning for some time. Not sure if the "Mods" are onto this; maybe it's not fixable in their role.

It seems to have gotten a bit better for me recently as it hasn't been happening nearly as much as it used to when I tried to get on. So I think that they finally figured out the problem and put together a fix for it.

Dunno if that would help, but we do have a looooott of "Ghost" members. Doing the Birthdays thread, I can't miss the reality that a large number of the celebrants have "Last Entry" comments ten or fifteen years ago or more. Many were very, very active and, suddenly ... crickets.

Annoyance: Forget what I said last night about the forum maybe getting better because it is back to giving me errors so much so that I couldn't post earlier today before I went to work. At work I heard the Peter Gabriel song "Sledgehammer" and I would like to take a sledgehammer and bash the server into pieces if this keeps up.
