It will be really hard if we get a rematch for our Presidential election when it happens. I don't think EITHER of them show be president but at least I know one won't start a nuclear war by firing missiles at other countries that anger him.

Okay, gonna nip the election talk in the bud there. We'll prevent that argument before it starts.

In other news, I had a wild wombat walk right up to me today! It was very special!

There is something just majical and sacred about a gentle encounter with a wildling. :D
(Not a reference to political candidates, by the way, Hla. ;) ;) )

Not a happy new year for me at the moment admittedly because my nose is congested, my throat is sore and I almost maxed out on sinus medication that isn't helping to decongest my nose.

I've had a recurring sinus problem for over a year an, sometimes, it interferes with swallowing enough that I choke. Gak!

Both funny and tiresome to run across this old comment about - it's now sliding into late spring and my sinus problems have returned. Bleeah!

I am not stuffy and congested as I once was at the beginning of the year so that is good. Now I am just trying to deal with my eyes bothering me in every single way which is probably due to allergies. I assume it must be pollen because we had so much of it my father had to use a LEAF BLOWER to get rid of it all.

Considering the last post from him was about 5 years ago at the end of 2020, I would say that he most likely has stopped coming here and moved on from this place. He left right before the hiatus started so we can't really blame that on him not coming around anymore.

I take it that when you say they are active on Discord it is the official one that has Rick in it? Unless he goes by a different name and I didn't realize it in the chat that I am in now.

Having a illness that is a major problem with what I wanted to do writing wise. I'll have to learn how to write on the phone with touchscreen keyboard if I want to actually get things done.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of illness is it? Is it something physical or is it something that causes issues with how your brain works?

It's a physical illness that would cause a lot of bedridden problems, in addition to the assortment of gross side effects of the bathroom viarety in addition to your body constantly overheating and losing balance in addition to your appitite being gone outright as you feel like you're throw up from anything that isn't cold such as Ice Cream for example.

Is it a specific illness that has a name that you are dealing with at this point? Or is it just a myriad of symptoms that just seem to be unrelated to each other?

Yeah that definitely would sound tough and almost impossible to deal with from what you said you have. I am sorry that you have so many physical ailments to deal with and it makes me feel bad for complaining about my mental ones.

I can emphasize to a degree, my partner also has some gross health issues of the bathroom variety. It's not so bad she's bedridden yet, and we'd rather avoid she get there, but the time her issues cause her to spend in the bathroom is taking it's toll and we're concerned she may well end up in a wheelchair or bedridden if they continue for too much longer.
The annoying thing is, so far doctor's tests have not shown anything wrong...and the issues themselves make it extremely difficult to go to doctor's appointments, especially now that all the time she spends standing in the bathroom and all the time she spends sitting because she's too exhausted has caused her left foot to be too swollen for any regular peice of footwear to fit...and we can't seem to find anything good for swollen feet stuff. <_<

I can understand how awful chronic pain like that is because I dealt with it and it made me so miserable I thought I was never gonna get better and I shouldn't bother having a social life. Of course this wasn't because of stomach issues (which I had in the past) but back issues that took 15 months to fully resolve so I could have some semblance of a regular life.

I believe that this thread is for talking about anything that comes to your mind in general and getting opinions on it from other people. I remember when the last one was still act and had more pages in it but that was way back in 2015

I was hoping that I could stop procrastinating and putting things off since we were in a new year but that is just a pipe dream. If anything the New Year brought ANOTHER issue for me which is misplacing things.

I don't seem to be losing things as much as I did in the beginning of the year so that is progress I guess.

Now watch me just jinx myself and I will end up losing something completely out of the blue right when I need it and have a freak out because of it.

Me. too. A partial solution for certain routine "misplaceders" (glasses, scissors, nailclippers) is to buy a number and "salt" them around. It's not a real solution but it preserves the delusion of being in control.

Trust me I have no misapprehension that I am in any sort of control of my life at all because my Aspergers and OCD pretty much run the show and always will. Even if I did try something to prevent myself from losing things it would only help for a few days or weeks at most then I would forget about doing it and the cycle continues or I forgot about how I am stopping myself from losing something I need.

It's not actually a medical condition and more of a way of life for me since this isn't something that you can treat and it goes away. I am always going to have both of these diagnosis moving forward in my life and it just makes my brain think differently from how other people would do so.
