Sorrow: It is now getting way too cold out because I feel it in the house especially in my room meaning that Winter is soon to be upon us. Time to start turning our heat on!
Re: Joys And Sorrows
Down to 32 degrees this morning, mercifully no wind. Autumn is drifting towards Winter, even though more leaves seem to be dropping instead of turning. Drought impact, maybe?
Re: Joys And Sorrows
Four days ago, an older woman living on our block unexpectedly left her home. What I didn't know was, she had already planned to go into an assisted living community in the spring but, while we were traveling to North Carolina, she'd had a fall. Although she wasn't terribly hurt, her daughters descended upon her and convinced her she had to go NOW! So she did. Four days later, BJ was gone and the for sale sign up on the yard.
Never got to say good-by. I'll miss her a lot - she was funny, bright, opinionated, and Sophie adored her (so did the Skipperkees). In the midst of life, ....... sigh.

Just kept feeling tired and unable to do anything. I don't think I can have any passion to write anymore because I keep feeling tired.

Sorrow: My grandmother who had a really bad fall a few weeks ago and broke her pelvis in two places was in Dartmouth-Hitchcock hospital in New Hampshire trying to recover enough so they could do surgery in order to repair her pelvis isn't eligible for surgery so they are moving her to a hospice and just trying to keep her comfortable. She is my last surviving grandparent.

Sorrow: My grandmother just passed away a few hours ago and I am still trying to get my head around that because when she came up here she was doing really well and very active even though that was in July. I now have no grandparents left at all and it is kind of melancholic to me now since both of my parents are now orphans.

Re: Joys And Sorrows
My deepest condolences, Amayzee. I know you loved your grandmother very, very much, and the passing of a whole family generation adds to the personal remose. At my age and my stage, I'm pretty familiar with the experience now, but it must be so much the harder for you. My prayers and sorrows for you and yours at this painful time.

I appreciate all of the well-wishes that people have been given me and when I think about it I have a hard time fathoming that this happened so quickly. I now have to navigate a life without any grandparents in it anymore and not sure what my future looks like.

Thank you for the sympathy as I am still trying to get my head around the fact that she went downhill so fast after falling and breaking her pelvis when she just came up to see our new house for the first time a few months ago. All I feel inside right now is numb and not sure how long it is going to last.

Bittersweet Joy: Super Sentai is going to end with Gozyuger due to the lack of merchandise sales in the native region of Japan. Kamen Rider may still be going but as I always known as a personal truth is 'No Super Sentai, No Power Rangers.' Because the two series are related to where Super Sentai is part of Power Rangers' DNA and likewise with some ideas being used for some of the Super Sentais. At least the 50th anniversary would be were the Super Sentai goes out with a sonic boom.
And at that point, I would know that Gozyuger would be a fine end point since it's a big anniversary like Gokaiger being the 35th anniversary in regards to the numbered Super Sentai series, where as Gozyuger is the 50th anniversary celebration since Gorenger is the longest series of sentai to be the foundation of the series. But hopefully that won't stop Tum Masterson from doing his usual scheduled heroics with the multi form technique being adapted where one ranger turns to five as the Ranger Rings are used to make the most of the raccoon youth's potential as that would be what I would try and keep up with in regards to Gozyuger's being the final sentai series with the keys unless something else occurs where Toei makes a 50th series of Sentai as a sort of Final Showstopper somehow.
But don't think of the series ending being bad, but hopefully a new beginning to come up with stuff overall.

Re: Joys And Sorrows
Tonight, we have the final service in our old church. The original church, founded in the 1870s, burned to the ground in 1965. Undaunted, that congregation bought land just outside the city, built this church, and worshipped there until tonight.
We're going to sojourn with another congregation in the neighborhood while the city transformed the church grounds into the site of forty-some low income housing. The church itself will become the headquarters' of a rescue center for women, wives, and mothers seeking refuge from endangered relationships (modern-speak for escaping violent mates, partners, parents, etc.) and their children. They'll add temporary housing for these embattled folks.
Meanwhile, the rectory building will be converted into a newer, smaller church so ... we'll be back. Until then, the memories will remain.
Life is what happens when you've made other plans, eh?

Joy: Excited for Thanksgiving because my sister is coming up even if it is to go to my grandmother's memorial afterwards and she won't being staying for long. I haven't seen her for 7 months.
Re: Joys And Sorrows
Sorrow - another credit card cancelled and replaced with a new one because of some hacker vermin. Now comes the torment of all the payment set-up messaging "Your Card Was Denied" and getting them to take the new card. What a exhausting, exasperating, and interminable ordeal!!! Talk about User Surly!"

That's why I set up all my payments through PayPal. It's a one-stop shop when it comes to updating your payment information, you can just cancel the old card and forward everything to the new one, and doesn't expose your payment information to strange websites you don't know or trust.

Sorrow: We haven't managed to do the leaves at our house yet in our backyard and looking outside it looks like an APOCALYPSE meaning it will probably take forever to get the yard cleaned up again from them all. <_<>_>
Re: Joys And Sorrows
We leave the leaves lie. Makes good bedding for the mice, snakes, and occasional deer in the winter and, by spring, it's all gone to mulch.

Why?
I'm serious in asking. By posting here, you're asking for help but we need a little more specific to help, bud.
Incidentally, from what's on this site, you're a good guy.

Both: Peak season at work is kicking my tail. I've gotten up at or before 1 AM every day this week and managed to accrue almost twice my usual weekly hours already this week, and I still have two days left. The paycheck is going to be nice but I'm so TIRED. I think I'm going to take a break from writing today, put on a documentary series on the television, roll up in my tortilla blanket, and nap all day.

Re: Joys And Sorrows
Shortly after we returned from New York, we learned that one of our neighbors had died from cancer a couple days ago. She had battled the demmon for a number of years, but was only 59 when she left us.
Her husband is the Custodian of the town cemetery. John was very compassionate and helpful when my mother, my father, and back in 2023 my younger brother passed on. They are very private people so there will be no funeral.
At my age and my stage, the daily toll of the people who "decorated" my life - public personalities of all sorts as well as friends - continues to remind me of the passage of time. It's something I accepted long ago. But, sometimes, it does darken your skies for a time. RIP, Heidi, you were a real "Warrior."

Re: Joys And Sorrows
Worry: The only way I can get the 27th off is if my co-worker agrees to work for me and she said that she doesn't know if she will be able to do it. Plus she and my boss don't see each other until Thursday but I see her tomorrow so I can ask them and I am MASSIVELY clinging on to hope of a good outcome.
