Stretching a bit

Post by GingaDensetsuAleu »

Since the Equal Chance Program technically "owns" its members, that means that prior to the end of Heckraisers, King and Marion are technically brothers, and Lois is their sister, and Marion is dating his "sister."

It also means they're technically related to Todd and Sasha but try not to think about THAT.

Not literally, of course, but in a family sense. Think of it in a Ohana sense or the Japanese tradition of family: If you're in the same household, you're family to them.

I don't think that is the way the ECP owning its members actually works out honestly. I think that it is more like an assistance program to help animals who want to be their own entity and not owned live independently from an actual owner and gain the skills they need to accomplish that. Though even if they are owned and everybody who is in the program are now siblings to each other, I'm not sure anybody would blink an eye at Lois and Marion who are now adoptive siblings dating each other. As long as the animals aren't blood related to each other I am sure that it is fine as if Peanut and Grape ended up together nobody would really care apart from Earl and Jill who would be weirded out for a while.

All will be revealed upon the Return of the Rick, the new and improved Opener. Unless, of course, Housepets! has gone apocalyptic.

As of the publishing of the Omnibus, Rick still intended to one day return to lead us into the New Era.

There is no doubt that Rick will come back and restart the comic in the future. It might be when we are old and gray but he isn't gonna end the story where it is now. :P

He posts some... INTERESTING things on his Patreon. Nothing I can repost here because it's kind of explicit. His monthly sketch pools almost always have at least ONE Housepets character in them. Often doing things that would immediately get me banned from the forum if I were to mention them. There WAS an unconfirmed sighting of Marion in the background of an ongoing mini comic he's got going.

I'm gonna assume that some of the things that he is posting involve a certain cop-couple which he will go there with at some point? If it does, I hope he doesn't completely change Fox's sexuality and keep him bi as he DID show attraction to other females.

He did a full-color pinup of them in a top-floor hotel suite in the big city. I think there was a G-rated version of it, but I don't have it in front of me right now.

As I said as long as they don't try to say Fox is gay this whole time and that his attraction to Sasha, Spring and Summer didn't mean anything at all because he was always gay. Since I know the two of them are going to become a thing when the comic comes back, at least have Fox be bi or Mungo being the only guy he is attracted to.

Considering Fox and King almost ended up together before Rick decided to put King and Bailey together instead, I think it would be nice for Fox to admit he had a little bit of a crush on King until, or maybe even for a while after, King was smitten with Bailey. I also think it would make for an interesting arc for King to have a minor hang-up about it when he finds out. Not, like, a full meltdown, just a little bit where he's awkward about it. And only King, playing off the ex-human in him where he thinks differently than the other dogs, and he gets frustrated because nobody else seems to think it's a big deal.

Well at least it can't be as old as you currently are now in that case. Weren't you an adult when the Titanic was being built, set sail and sank? :P

Im still convinced that's a lie on his part. Or at least the part claiming he simply didn't dare to do it. IIRC his justification for not putting them together back in the day was because he initially didn't think of it and would be "to obvious" when everyone was already shipping them.

If he had continued to show King and Fox together and getting closer and Fox getting confused about his feelings I wouldn't have minded that since it would have been a slow-build before the two of them eventually became a couple. With Mungo since we only saw him in a few arcs and usually it was at work I can see how it might feel a bit rushed for some other people even if they were rooting for them from the beginning.

I couldn't afford the ticket ... I was still trying to get Bill McKinley to approve the pension Mr. Lincoln promised me for my service in the Army of the Republic. :D

Yeah that does soud about right admittedly. However I am glad that you weren't able to get a ticket to be on the ill-fated voyage that happened during that time period as statistically you probably wouldn't have been one of the survivors that got off before the ship sank.

Blech, to be honest I never liked most of the romances in the comic anyway. I especially hated Grape & Peanut's relationship going from sibling-like to romantic... You two call the same people mom & dad, for Pete's sake! Well, knowing IRL cat behavior, I guess it wouldn't be too odd for Grape...

I think if he went in that direction Rick would want us to forget that tidbit and remember they were both adopted so it was OK but I probably would have had a problem with it also. It probably would have been fine with other people because if you have two pets who haven't been spayed or neutered they probably will get together and have offspring but it is much more off-putting when pets are sapient.

Exactly, it only gets weirder if the animals are more anthropomorphic!

I mean maybe if they didn't call the same people who adopted them "mom" and "dad" it could be gotten around and they are just treated like pets instead of children who they take care of as if they were their offspring but they were raised in the same house together. When you have pets like that which are sapient and see the same two people as parental figures it just is way too weird.
