Let's Imaginate: A Christmas Carol

Post by GingaDensetsuAleu »

I know it's been overdone by a LOT, but wouldn't it be great to see an Imaginate Christmas Carol? Here's my casting:

Peanut as Bob Cratchit
Grape as Mrs. Cratchit
Keene as Scrooge (who may or may not be there against his will)
Rook as Tiny Tim
King as Jacob Marley
Breel as Christmas Future (who may or may not be the reason Keene is there)
Olive as Belle
Pueblo as Young Scrooge
Bailey as Fezziwig
Ace as Christmas Present
Max and Fox as Donation Seekers
Tarot as the child on the street
Mysterious Hooded Figure as Christmas Future (character is suggested to be one of the woodland creatures but background dialogue indicates they don't know who it is or how they got there)
Mr. Bigglesworths as partygoers

Extended cast (characters that are generally cut but could be added if wanted)

Enby as Fred (who either misunderstands or intentionally misplays the character as petty instead of jolly)
Duke as Child Scrooge
Simon as Peter Cratchit
Lana as Fan (She doesn't want to be here and plays the role completely enthusiastically, asking if she can go as her last line)
Pit as Narrator (He overplays the role. By a lot. And also dresses in a completely-too-flamboyant outfit.)
Truck and Falstaff as The Robbers (Nobody knows how they got there or how they knew what was going on. It's entirely possible they DON'T know what's going on. The trash can is mysteriously tipped over in the kitchen at the end of the arc.)
Rock as Martha Cratchit. (It was the only role left and he didn't want to feel left out. He insists on wearing a real period bonnet instead of a paper bag.)
Fiddler and Keys as soundtrack. We don't even know they're there until cleanup.
Nimius pavor, non satis disco.

I totally agree with all of those casting choices and think that you did really well at picking characters to play the characters from the movie! I am not sure that Fiddler and Keys were ever involved in ANY Imaginate in the past or any of the past ones had a soundtrack.

I thought they might have been in Pagentate, but no, they were not to be found in the chaos. I checked.

Yeah, it's been done before, but your casting is really clever and insightful. Thanks for bringing back a much beloved thread with such panache and wit. :D

I don't remember it actually being done straight as the other Imaginates have often been done but I do remember Peanut taking several movies that had a Christmas theme and mash them together to come up with some sort of play because he had given them all different scripts I believe. That was the first time that Peanut created an Imaginate from scratch rather than adapting another piece of media. It is also the first time we got to see all of the owner's faces fully and we saw that they didn't like the play while the Wolf Pack did.

I still wanna know how they talked King into participating in that. He tends not to really partake of the standard pet silliness.

He'd done an Imaginate before. He was in the "And Then There Were None" one.

I'm not sure one line really counts as participating. That could have been him happening to be nearby and being snatched off the street. Or, more likely, he was already there hanging out with Bailey and got pressed into it.

He can overreact even at the best of times so I am not sure why he hasn't been roped in sooner but I assume its because he kept to himself and may have gotten involved in order to get closer to other pets besides the Lindberg cousins-slash-siblings. Also is it fair to say he is a drama queen after we have seen just how much he went through before he was forcibly turned? He didn't grow to like being a corgi until he fell in love with Bailey.

He's a little dramatic though. He worries about his loved ones a lot.

That definitely is true and I think that it can be a bit much and do feel concerned for him. I am afraid that at some point the stress of worrying will overwhelm him and he will end up having a massive heart attack due to an ill-timed freakout,

Maybe not a heart attack but definitely a self-induced bad day.

Either way the stress of it all will continue to build up and take a toll on his health and make him paranoid about EVERYTHING and never being able to relax. Then when it erupts like a volcano he will probably make himself sick and have to be laid up in bed for a few days in order to try to recover a little bit.

He'd have fallen in love with Bailey even if he'd been turned into a wheelbarrow. ;)

If he had been turned into one I don't think he would have as he wouldn't have been sentient and just an inanimate object. I am hoping that he wouldn't have fallen in love with Bailey if he hadn't been turned though or was turned into something other than a dog because the first case would be illegal and the second case would be disturbing at the very least. :|
