License for Translation Projects

Post by Dreamingcat »

Hi,
I'm having some Housepets translation works in hand, but still feeling uneasy sharing them elsewhere since the applicable license is unclear.
Translated works are destined to be spread to places outside this forum, and I've been giving credits to Rick when posting but still worrying about if I have done enough.
Perhaps Creative Commons - BY - NC or something more specific?

I would go and ask one of the mods if what you are doing is enough and you are giving adequate credit. I don't think you have to worry though as I do believe that just making sure people know that Rick was the one who had the original concept and created the work himself is probably enough.

Rick always just says to keep the attribution at the bottom of the comics in tact, and not to monetize. He's always been a supporter of fan translations wherever they get posted :D

Thank you, it seems I was worrying too much

I am happy that you got the answer that you needed and I am sure others where you plan to post the translations will be looking forward to seeing them and reading them in that language! You definitely are doing a very wonderful thing with this!

I will go and see how it has come out though I don't understand any Chinese but I am sure that it is accurate! I have a feeling that the whole page of each strips that you have done gets across what is happening in each of them!

I am sure that they are doing the best they can going at a pace that they can move at! It might be an arduous task but in the end I am sure it will be worth it!
