Sorrow: I'm still trying to get myself through life. but because of the dead-end I'm currently living through, I don't think I could keep going onward. Also, there are bad actors who are co-opting the church as a means of virtue-signaling among other dirty tactics.

I guess I don't have anything to look forward to as I don't know if anyone is sincere in this day and age. At least I'll live through the rest of my life even if all the projects I was working on is no longer in the cards since I don't have any time to work on anything.

At least I could return to writing somehow if I managed to have all the time to myself without anyone interrupting me.

Joy: Realized that I could just have King as the sole main character in a entire world far removed from the likes of Housepets as I am thinking about having my own animation commission from a online cartoonist I know (RogerfromIMP) who is rather hilarious in his own European screwball way. But I'll have to figure out everything to write for the animation as I am going to get my finances rearranged to a more functional state before I even think about springing for the first cartoon commission that would be very expensive and a very long wait of sorts.

Hope this will all work out and seeing as I have plenty of time in spite of my occasional states of 'autistic demoralization,' I will need to keep at the financial goals I have and hopefully have King animated in a online cartoon of sorts.

(And before you even mention that part regarding his... Tastes, the series will be more or less safe for work. I'll just have to make sure of that all the while.)

Sorrow: Got my Steam Account locked out with a Email Address that will be gone at a moment's notice.

Rage: Rather fed up with there being cads online and off, especially revolving around talent less hacks removing even good faith criticism off of their steam forums.

Silver Lining: I am focused on the family and I will share with them all the games I please. With a Microsoft Account that will be the hub for all the games I bought with money earned from all manner of work.

Keep at it. At least you would be far better in the language than the causal posers known as "Weeaboos."

Sorrow: My 80-something year-old co-worker collapsed and had to be rushed to the hospital. He has three stents in his heart. Also we are getting more snow so that means more shoveling and our snowblower doesn't work. Yay.

I hope your co-worker is okay, Amazz. I'm sorry to hear of his trauma - and, having had a quadruple bypass in 2006, I have a littl empathy.

I'm watching the snow fill in the path I dug down the driveway this morning. Sigh. :(

Sorrow: We are now getting a mixture of rain and snow over here which means it will be very icy and hard to clear plus since it is still raining and snowing out we can't go outside to shovel yet.

Dream: hey, I just had a crazy dream, I told my mom (who passed away in 2017, RIP mom) that I had cancer and she got so sad and hugged me but I didn't told her I was recovering, they held a party for me with sushi and snacks, it was great dream, and a bizzare moment, Cactus came to life and just touched me

My youngest daughter called last week on her birthday; she turned 42. We had a really nice chat, and she was especially excited about solving a hoarding crisis so early in her start as chief executive at the local humane society. They had about 35 dogs, mostly puppies, all frisky, funny little scampers, and the on-line adoptions went remarkably fast. Her outfit works with an "animal railroad" as they call it, moving animals to shelters near where a patorn wants to adopt. This way they still check on the applicant (so, no, Mr. President they don't risk getting eaten).

I sent her a copy of a graphic novel that a student gave me in the twilight of my career. Nick Abadzis's Laika, his imagining of the life of the dog the Russians sent up in space back in 1957 and the people around her struggling with their consciences. The student remembered that I had reminisced in class about Sputnik Two (I was eleven at the time) and how sad I felt that the dog died. The book is strangely drawn but still deeply moving and melancholy. She found it lovely and touching, just as I'd hoped.

At my age and my stage, the best birthdays are no longer your own. ;)

Annoyance: My therapists office has a new method of having patients log into the portal for their telehealth visits which requires putting in a cell phone number to get a text or a call for a code. When I first stared going to the therapist a DECADE ago I didn't put my cell phone number in so now I am going to have to update my information which is extremely annoying.

That sounds intriguing, I might have to pick up a copy to read, over here they showed a documentary a few years back called space dogs (if I recall correctly) all about the pioneering spacefaring canines. Quite touching and fascinating.

Sorrow: Couldn't get much sleep last night because I was worried I concussed myself when I slipped on the shower rug and stuck the back left side of my head on the tub. I called urgent care (at 1 AM in the morning...) and they said as long as I don't have any other symptoms of a concussion and my condition doesn't get worse I should be able to go to sleep again. In 3 hours so I was up until 4 AM.

Sickness (In the body): Had some very greasy breakfast to the point where I have stomach pain and the driver something much worse.

At this point, I'd rather eat at home if this keeps up and continues making everyone sick.

Should it persist, Amazz, you should consider a hospital or clinic in-person check up. You may, in fact, have something going on.

Annoyance: It's Lent now and on the official start of it we couldn't have meat. That's fine. What ISN'T fine is that my dad thought it would be a good idea to get ONE bag of fish sticks which only had TEN and to give me just 4 so he could have the rest.

At least we aren't people that don't eat meat for the duration of it. We just don't eat it on Fridays.

Read LAIKA by Nick Abadzis, a good read, interesting to learn more of her story, the early space flights always interested me, and Korolev, the chief designer, I always wondered what he could have achieved had he not died when he did, would the Soviets have made it to the moon, who knows.

A touching book, good that it follows the known history closely with just enough conjecture to add flavour and bring life to the story.

It is doubly sad that the heat shield failed leading to Laikas death by heat exhaustion.

I recall that one of the later Spacedogs, Strelka, had puppies one of which was given to Kennedy.

I'm glad you got hold of the book and enjoyed it. While the art has engendered some criticism, especially of the facial depictions of the human figures, it still packs an emotional build-up that is very powerful. Although all the characters from the little girl, Lilianna, even to the mission-obsessed Chief designer, Korolev, come to see the little dog as "special", they cannot - or will not - save her from her foreordained death. The tragedy is compounded by our awareness of Laika's unwavering love and trust in Yelena, Oleg, and everyone around her that never dims even as she is dying aboard the overheating space craft.

We, of course, know from the beginning - as both the characters and the real Russian scientists knew - that Laika is going to die. The undercurrent of the story is how all the scientists, Yelana especially, struggle to reconcile what they are doing to Laika with her abiding confidence in their genuine affection for her ("Trust me" ... "Don't worry" ... Don't be afraid" ... "(You're such a) Good dog"). The final scenes show the major characters going on with their lives even as the rocked which is cremating little Kudriavka's body disintigrates unremarked above them.

But I remember it all from my childhood, how very sad it made me. Nick told that story for me pretty well, sixty seven years later. :|

... and i always wondered about Strelka's puppy. It was a very thoughtful gesture. :)
