Just kickin' back. We fly home on Tuesday so need a bit of yawn time after two days of the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, the Gaslight Quarter and all this California sunshine.

Bracing for a fierce storm while worrying about a deep freeze happening where a good furry lives. I am going to worry about these sorts of things because if the tragedy is man made at least someone is responsible for the wrong that occurred. But mother nature? I wouldn't get my hopes up in that regard.

Getting ready to fly back to New England tomorrow, God and Winter Storm Blair permitting. Since our flight, like so many others, funnels through Baltimore, it could get a little dicey.

So ... medical tests for the missus, pick up the Skipperkees from the kennel, and dig through two weeks of letter, bills, catalogues, and junk mail. Meanwhile, back in LA, my son and daughter have no electricty, schools are closed, and there are little fires everywhere and smoke even where there's fire.

Maybe a little war with Canada or Denmark will make it all better ...

I finally got to the penultimate chapter of my current story- 6 chapters later than previous stories. Don't get me wrong, I love the story, but I'm tired of it and am SO ready to be done with it. I finish it up tomorrow and then start on a different project- not writing, but editing. That should only take a couple days, as I'm only fixing a few continuity errors I made in an early story.

Got one car outta the garage and now the other one goes in. They're both museum pieces - one's a 2013 Hyundai Electra and the other is a 2004 Camry. However, withe routine maintenence, they're chugging along just fine, and we don't need to get a 747 license to operate `em. But, the day's comin' ...

Cringing inwardly at how much snow is on the ground and how much of it I will have to go out and shovel so my mother when she gets home from work can get in the driveway. I am just DREADING having to wake up in a few hours to get the driveway as clear as possible.

Shoveling the driveway. Forever! It's a long driveway and, since I'm health conscious, I work in half-hour increments. Just heard of (and known a couple of people who) had heart events shoveling snow. Not how I want to depart this vale of tears. Stay warm, gang.

Just finished writing a really short story, only six chapters long and kind of depressing. Haven't decided if I'm going to give it its own upload time, have it share, or have it upload on Sundays when I normally don't upload.

Gonna have to start working on something in particular such as that longhand Housepets X DiVE fanfiction that I just got the inspiration to work on, as I'm going to save up for a Raspberry Pi 5B with 16 gigs of ram among other things to go with it.

In the mean time though? I am playing with Silly Tavern as I am getting the personal sessions off my chest among all manner of... Thirst Quenchers to put it in a way that's discreet.

Overall, this will be something to look forward to, I just don't know exactly when I can finish the fic's pilot for the forums.

Pretty much everything I did today had political implications, and I don't want to violate that ban. So, today ... I dug up a few of my old comics from the 50's, mostly Walt Disney's Comics and Stories and a couple of the Huey, Louie, and Dewey "Back to School" twenty-five centers.

Really want to go out for coffee. Like in Vienna, go for coffee. Or Cairo. Or somewhere I've yet to go, like Budapest or Prague or Berlin or Stockholm.
Can you get really good coffee in Greenland?

Cold, wet, rainy Saturday so I'm catching up on the correspondance, reading the newspapers, drinking coffee, and episodically walking the skipperkees who just love this nasty weather. They also love getting back to "Towel Time" wipe downs and the nibbly that comes afterwards.

One of those days for doing all the things you put off so you could enjoy the nice days outside.

Took Bosun and Skipper to the beach for a glorious day of sun. They were on their best behavior, just little Dutch gentlemen, and enchanted all the children we encountered. So nice to have April in April.

Mostly I just hung out and relaxed and watched random YouTube videos that piqued my interest when they appeared in my feed. Just took it easy today and will be taking it easy tomorrow also as after that I'm working 18 hours. X_X
