Mabinogi & Maplestory VS Housepets: An old tale from Grandpa

Author's note before we begin: This is primarily based around the North American servers of the games in question. One of the benefits is that their is a wider variety of classes you can play in Maplestory.

As for this initial posting, it's more of a pilot to set things up for the fic, but I'll only take it so far as to not bring spoilers to Mabinogi nor Maplestory. (That's for the future writing as we go through the games.)

We open to a rock remix of "A old Tale from Grandma" as a old man goes through his usual storytelling of old MMOs. it was long after the "Heckraiser Saga" where animals and humans are considered equals, as there are as many geniuses on the beast department in addition to man, thus proving their worth. This old human elder who is rambling is King, a shapeshifter by nature who defaults to Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

At that particular instance, the youth wishes to know how his story within Mabinogi, how the usual geniuses made the story and what sort of trials he had to triumph over in order to win the game.

"Win? Many times over. I just get a character card to reincarnate and start from the top." The old man continued "Now as for the many games, There are so many to choose from, so little time to do it all, so I just pick two games and go from there." Knowing of Maplestory and Mabinogi having the same company "Would you believe they're still ongoing to this day?" (I hope they'll last long after we're gone, otherwise this will age like milk. -Author)

"Right. Starting off my adventures within the celtic inspired world, I met this lady named Nao, a being who resides in the Soul Stream. I asked her a lot of questions regarding the world, but it's usually some sort of cryptic clues which I need to find out for myself."

As everything is getting into place, the immortal old man goes on regarding the dangers, the relationships, and above all, the challenges that a fantasy life would bring. But hey, you have to get many lives under your belt if you're essentially immortal.

But overall, King goes on about the numerous epics that would be told in due time. For now? Brace yourselves. This double feature of MMO based epics will begin soon. (Just have to install the games to begin.)

This definitely sounds like it will be a very tantalizing story that you will be putting together! I can't wait to dive in even more to it!

Although this fic is more of a game log if anything, I'll assume you're waiting until the next instance where King tells how he became a martial artist in Mabinogi. (No bonus as to who I named my main character as, though you're welcome to play the games if you haven't already.)

I just got stuck since I couldn't progress. Lack of gold to buy ingredients after all. So, just wait a bit until either Maplestory finishes installing, or if I am able to get the quest for skill to continue onward.

Sorry if I couldn't continue this. I was going to get to playing mabinogi again but some equipment needed to make a computer run were lost.

Hopefully I'll be able to continue this at some point.

If you can't continue it you don't have to worry about it because nobody will expect you do that if you can't. We know that life can sometimes be unexpected so don't feel too bad about not being able to finish right now.
