This is the other fic I've been working on. It's in a formatted and complete form, so I've included it as a PDF zipped into a folder (because the site wouldn't let me upload it as just the PDF).
This story is definitely a lot darker than Scout (my other fic), and I would rate it at PG-13 or higher for dark themes and one almost-cuss.
If you do read it, remember to come back here and let me know what you think.
The story takes place starting about nine months after Heaven releases the perception filter from Steward's actions during the Heckraiser arcs, and I've tried to keep it as close as possible to how Rick left things, but obviously I had to embellish a bit.

Re: Shade: A Babylon Side tail
I wanted to bump this topic because I'm not actually sure if anybody read this, and I wanted to remind people it existed so if they HAVE read it, they can tell me what they thought.
And so the bump remained relevant, I included a sketch. Be kind, it was done on my phone in 45 minutes and I'm not very good to begin with.
It's a scene from the story's prelude, when the pound puzzles out that Shade used to be human and goes to confront him.

Re: Shade: A Babylon Side tail
I did read it back in June and very much enjoyed it. It was a well-written and heartwarming story, it had some very creative ideas like the collar-storage or the fact that the canon characters are the "untouchable" stars of the neighborhood (I can understand why it was done that way but it would be a fun twist if it turned out that they are actually very easy to approach). Enjoyed the banter between Paul and Shade, his relationship with Sunny, the progress of him coming out of his shell, overall you did a great job with this story (but I very much enjoy reading Scout and Stray Dog Heights too)
Also that sketch of Shade came out nice

Thank you very much. I love feedback on my stories, especially since I'm practicing to write a novel.
He does look a little cute in that sketch, doesn't he?

He does, he looks just like someone who is in need of hugs

He definitely needed some hugs at the beginning of that story.

Re: Shade: A Babylon Side tail
Seeing him in that state just broke my heart honestly because I hate seeing anybody in a horrible circumstance. I am just glad that things seem to be looking up for him.
