Looks pretty random so far
But as the scientist said, they're figuring out the magic(k)al scientific way of undoing it (and by extension doing it), so people are certainly gonna be tuning in to see how that all works out
How are they “ heroes” if they force this very long-term transformation on unwilling people?! Sounds more like a hostage situation to get what they want.
Faith doesn't change circumstances. Faith changes me.

This is Housepets!, where the premise at the end of the day is always "funny animals". I feel extremely confident in saying that the consequences are going to be at "shenanigans" level rather than "world and or life ending" level, so with that in mind, yeah, sometimes what it takes to understand another person is to walk a mile in their shoes. It's certainly getting results
... or maybe this comic is an invitation to someone to start a thread about what kind of animal you think a particular political, social, cultural or media figure has been transformed into. I'm not the person to do that, though ...

One positive about this strip is I have to say I love how its so obvious that the news doesn't give a dang anymore. From cheap graphics to screwing up the labels it truly is hilarious.
"Mr. President, sir, why did you turn yourself into a donkey?"
"I thout it would be a funny joke, you know, as party trick"
"But...you're a republican, sir"
"Like I said..."

It's a little surprising to me that they aren't considering the transformations that already happened to be "acts of terrorism" but I guess that would spoil the joke.

So, wait. If that's just some random person, how did he get a podium? and if it's really the President, why the weird caption?
Looked to me like Rick was satirizing the incompetence of the mainstream media. The captions are switched, the graphics are wrong or missing entirely.
King looks an awful lot like my own Corgi. That's one reason why he's my favorite, but I also like his attitude.
Not to mention some of the captions are just completely stupid and wouldn't be used by a reputable news station. Referring of course to the "Some idiot we found on the street" and "Scientist, some kind of weird cat."

What is Kate? I know it was probably asked before but is she like a mink? She looks like some form of mustelid to me at least
Looks quite Pomeranian to me...

This insanity is going on. Dunno which are the most incompetent between this newcast or the scientists. The wrong graphics of the newscast are funny, at least. Scientific methods also for politics? Can't work, because that's the chaos... Also, will we ever see Kate's eyes?

I'd argue that there's only so far that suspension of disbelief can go, and trying to say, for example, "a large number of humans in positions of power are now/'always have been' animals but that ends with no appreciable differences in Earth geopolitics because 'they passed measures' to maintain power" (or even "Heaven's not gonna notice all this happening") makes it drop like a lead balloon. Tied to an anvil.
I'd write further on it, but then it would turn into this long personal opinion piece about global/international politics and history and the nature of political power and I ain't gonna waste a weekend to research and write that.

It's a deal made with Heaven. It doesn't NEED to make sense. It just needs to provide a convenient reason.

My Uncle George used to refer to politicians as "the duly elected life forms". He liked to argue that earth was a place for higher civilizations on other planets to exile their trouble-makers. Part of the exile was being transformed into human form, their version of "imprisonment."
huh, but how do we KNOW that this is "the president" and not some random donkey? We see how that comic pans out at the end... But right now, the direction it is heading doesn't seem satifactory.
I am pretty sure the deal was to keep everybody as animals and then help the ECP or try to by transforming a portion of the world into animals so Keene gets more people to want to enter the program.
Because screw what everybody else wants! Marion is the one that knows what you need better than you do!
Everyone's mad at this it seems. I guess I'd like to be an animal, an otter so I could swim more often. The animal-centric stuff here sounds like white supremacy but maybe I'm just reading too much into it, or projecting my self-loathing on to this

Could you elaborate on that, I am VERY confused right now.

Basically just a general sense of "animals are better, humans suck" sort of thing, especially with world leaders hastily trying to make it so they aren't forced out of their jobs for being animals and probably further than that.
Don't mind me though, I'm probably just projecting how much I hate myself into this read
