Because page after page of non stop action is visually thrilling but quite boring to write. Plus a good tactitioner knows that words are weapons, designed to distract and confuse in the hands of an expert like Spider-Man.

Only seen it done well a few times. Psylocke vs Sabretooth in one of the pre-Onslaught issues of X-Men for example. The fight lasted six pages with Jeff Matsuda providing the pencils.

You bring up a good point. I wasn't expecting Kit of all people to try and talk things out with Steward, although they've had very little time for that so far.

And while would be a noble thing of him to do, but I still ponder whether we should consider Steward a lost cause or not....
