Joy: Turns out all of my furniture came in and not just the bed like I originally thought so I can put all my close away and don't have to use boxes as bureaus and tables! Yay me!
Re: Joys And Sorrows
Nothing says comfort like furnishings - oh, and now you got more boxes, too!

Well not really. I just broke down the boxes and put them out with the recycling.

Sorrow-sauce: My widowed aunt called us yesterday and said that my uncle's ashes have just came back after his cremation.

Joy: Went out to eat for my birthday and I managed to clean my plate which when you see the portion sizes Marchetti's gives you is not an easy feat and I still have some of my cake left!

Congratulations, Hlaoroo, he's adorable and I love his name.

Sorrow: We had to get rid of the koi pond because it was leaking and my father didn't want to learn how to maintain it and it was too much trouble to get the leak fixed since the pond had to be drained.

A friend of mine finally got out of the hospital after surgery - they don't keep non-covid patients in the ICU for long because of occupancy demands for pandemic patients so, besides recuperation, she was anxious about exposure to the virus. That's a relief!

Sorrow or Anger. I'm not sure which. After everybody has been packed out and moved out of the old house, my aunt calls my mother (after my mother worked an 11 PM to 7 AM shift) to tell her that somebody went over to the house and BROKE the windows.

Re: Joys And Sorrows
That sucks, Dayzee, maybe your aunt could file a police report, or something you all might not be the only people this has happened to.

Joy: OK so it looks like it was a false alarm. Even if it made my mother anxious it isn't actually as horrible as we thought. The window wasn't broken. It just popped out and fell in. When they were moving the furniture, they had to get it out through the window so took it off but didn't put it back correctly.

Well, that’s a relief. Sucks that it made your mom anxious though.

Joy: My aunt and my cousin took me out to lunch for my birthday despite the fact that it is a week past it.
Sorrow: My mother couldn't go because she had bad stomach pains and had to head home.
More Sorrow: We are never going back to the house that I grew up in now that we are finished with it an the closing where the new owner gets it is the 16th. I am sad.

Passages ... they can be painful. Especially when you leave something that's an intimate part of your life. Be well, chum.Amazee Dayzee wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 6:01 pm Joy: My aunt and my cousin took me out to lunch for my birthday despite the fact that it is a week past it.

Joy: Got to see someone my mother grew up with which was her friend and she was doing really well despite the fact that her father died.
And by sheer coincidence, her father's plot is right behind my grandparents in the cemetery.

Haven't been here in awhile, but Congratulations, Hilarioo! <3
Joy: Might finally be working at home permamently! Though it sorrows me it took a world virus to do this.
Sorrow: My cat Hubbard has been licking her paws too much lately and we've started taking her to the vet more recently since she licked the fur clean off. She's always been super shy, but now we had to bandage the paws in order for them to heal. Still don't know why she does it.

Joy: Rescued a baby Tassie devil tonight!
Sorrow: She's probably orphaned because there was no sign of Mamma Devil.
Joy: She's gone to a carer who'll feed and raise her and release her so she can keep rebuilding the species. ^^

Joy: I get to start working in the hospital again on Monday!
Sorrow: I'm kind of nervous about it, since I've been out of practice for so long. Plus I need to move two hours away (for a month).

Sorrow: Me and my mother got into a car accident when she fell asleep (don't know how) and the car is totaled and my ribs are bruised and I feel very sore still and as you can imagine its not fun. I have learned my lesson. I will stop talking crap about 2020. >_<
Joy: The lady who came to check on us after the accident came by the house to check again.

It is. One thing my mother is dreading right now is looking for a new car. It will take some time for her to get used to.
