Tarot in the land of candy
is really quite something to see.
After A Pocky of days past
this is confectionery B.
‘Nedry’ may want to check the line
(And how did they call a toy?)
When it comes to playing a jerk
our Craig really sells it. Good boy!
The plot is moving along well;
he’s gonna put sis in ‘danger’
and, of all the things done so far?
To that, he’s never a stranger.

I always thought that was just the way he always got up for snacks: yelling stammered warnings at everybody
For those of you who don't know or don't remember the movie:
For those of you who don't know or don't remember the movie:
- Craig is Dennis Nedry, the fed-up underpaid (or so he claims) tech geek working at Jurassic park
- Tarot is COO Ray Arnold, chain-smoker tough-guy with glasses
- Grape is John Hammond, the lovable 70-year-old millionaire who has "spared no expense" building Jurassic Park
- Sabrina is Lawyer Don Gennaro, the representative of Jurassic Park's stockholders who want to kick Hammond off the board
- Draig is Lex, Hammond's hippie-ish computer geek of a granddaughter
- Ace is Tim, Hammond's action-loving bookworm of a grandson
- Rook is Dr. Ellie Sattler, a paleontologists quasi-romantically involved with Dr. Grant, specialized in prehistoric plants and adoring children, here to say whether Jurassic Park is "authentic" or not
- Max is Dr. Ian Malcolm, the breakout-role eccentric chaos theory specialist charged with saying how everything could go horribly wrong
- Olive is Dr. Alan Grant, a quasi-bankrupt paleontologist specialized in Velociraptors and hating children, here to say whether Jurassic Park is "authentic" or not
- Pueblo is Jurassic Park's zookeeper Robert Muldoon, who acts like Crocodile Dundee (who is from Australia), though he, himself, canonically is from Kenya
- North Star is the big Velociraptor
- Darth Vader Sanchez is a baby Velociraptor
- Peanut is everyone else, including the postproduction team

So he not only did not go to the vending machine, he kept Tarot's Arnold's money...

So, the fact that you're saying loud to go to get a snack is an excuse to leave for the island? With the storm now already there? Good luck... I wonder how that toy phone could be really working. Ah, and it could deserve a tag, too. Never heard of this Zagnut candy bar before, it looks something I would like to try.

I think at one point I had that phone that Craig is talking on when I was younger.

Seriously, do they still make Zagnuts?

plot twist: Craig will use the dinosaur samples to move to Egypt.
Nah, i kid - he's going to love this part.

...but will he get Tarot's Zagnut? Will she get all her change back? Oh, it's gonna be a long, anxious weekend!
Re: 2020/06/12 - A Simple Plan
dangit, that line tarot added should have really been in the movie now that I am thinking about it.
Just how straight she plays it would have added some levity and depth to the whole scene also he was never going to get that zagnut so that would have been hilarious too.

Since everybody is saying that Arnold isn't gonna get his Zagnut, does that mean his death is coming soon?
Re: 2020/06/12 - A Simple Plan
Since this is the Housepets version, I wouldn't say that. But since Nedry is escaping to the boat, he has no intention of giving him his ZagnutAmazee Dayzee wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2020 10:45 pm Since everybody is saying that Arnold isn't gonna get his Zagnut, does that mean his death is coming soon?

He's underpaid because he keeps asking for ludicrously expensive hardware instead of a raise. There is no way he needs an SGI workstation.

If all there is in the candy machine is Zagnuts, you'd think by now all his other expectations would have vanished in resentful despair....

What really is a bit unnerving is that the only reason why I know about any of those candies in the first place is because my GRANDFATHER liked them and it was after his death that I registered on the forum.

I wonder if Peanut is playing the voice of Craig’s accomplice, he seems to be playing the other minor roles.

... oh, and then there's Zingers!! Did I just get "Zung", Amazz?Amazee Dayzee wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 8:19 pm What really is a bit unnerving is that the only reason why I know about any of those candies in the first place is because my GRANDFATHER liked them and it was after his death that I registered on the forum.
(For those of you a little rusty on your 1950s 6th grade gammar, "Zung" is the past tense of the verb "to zing". As in, "I think Amazee just zung me." The commonly used tense "zinged" ... as in "I think Amazee just zinged me" is used but it's really slang and Mrs. Clotier would not have approved.)

A storm's a coming!
Hurry, Nedry!
They won't wait for you,
Not even maybe.
Instead of running,
Here's a grand plan,
Guard the embryos,
Keep the station manned,
And while you're waiting
For code to compile
Loading slowly,
Taking a while,
Run on quick to the vending machine,
Get your pal a Zagnut,
And hope they don't leave you behind,
If so, then what?

They won't wait for you,
Not even maybe.

You're a wonderful person! You can do this! Yes, you, person reading this!

Most yank candy machines are full of candy with peanuts in and I grew up with real candy so it's just weird and distasteful.

You mean of course that it was TANK candy machines and not YANK candy machines as that was typo? Unless there are some yankee candy machines that come from New England or the north and that is what you were referring to. XD

Yank is kinda the general term for an American that's used in Europe.Amazee Dayzee wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 3:23 pm You mean of course that it was TANK candy machines and not YANK candy machines as that was typo? I know that it is a term that Europeans use but wanted to know if that is what he meant or if it was a typo since the "T" and the "Y" key are next to each other.
Re: 2020/06/12 - A Simple Plan
Then why did you phrase it as "You mean of course" rather than just asking?

Because when I wrote the post I was saying "of course" because I thought that it was 100% a typo and was being sarcastic with the second part.

I remember that a music teacher that I had in 7th grade HATED the Yankees with a PASSION and wouldn't allow any discussion of them. His room had two signs one of which was "Yankee Hater" and another one which said in big red letters "YANKEES SUCK!"
