Marion is smart to see the mad is sane
as he tries to logic out his panic.
The world is revolving just the same
and there’s no-one going manic
(well, no more than usual anyway)
Greed is good in the Human world
and it’s just life for the Beast.
One line that is being unfurled?
He didn’t appreciate that in the least.
(Only the 10% live from day to day)
Perhaps he’ll appreciate the change?
Perhaps he’ll like it even more?
Perhaps his life he’ll rearrange;
It can be different; that’s for sure.

The sad part is that real news is more often than not considerably dumber than that.

You know, I AM getting the feeling that fenrirblack is right: that this arc is a two-parter, with the first part ending around June. Also, the reason why Marion became squirrel will only be hinted at at the very end of it.

Technically "apocalypse" simply means "revelation". Any divinely or infernally derived prediction is an apocalypse. There's already been a bunch of apocalypses in Housepets!
They actually had a bunch of real serious meetings when they were deciding what was going to officially be the bible about which of the dozens of final revelations floating around was going to end the series with a bang.

Yep, I’m sure no one would want that *light coughing* and I’d take this newscast with a grain of salt for a bit of time, realistically, unless it’s breaking news and/or local news, there aren’t gonna be any hints about who changed and who didn’t. Marion probably should have been listening for missing person cases or talks about funny animals that have gotten attention for being able imitate humans really wellSeanWolf wrote:That would be one heck of a twist if EVERYONE in the world was changed to an animal!

This is what I like to see; a character who approaches a seemingly impossible situation with scholarly interest.
For that matter, I like to see a character who can keep his priorities in order, rather than immediately sinking into hopelessness and depression.
As it turns out, I also like to see a character who just 'is a squirrel'.
In fact, I have yet to find anything about Marion that I don't like, which is unusual. Hopefully I'll have something critical to say before the arc is over.

Knowledge is not as simple as having the right answers. Knowledge is a way of finding them.

Poison being a likely source of changing humans into animals seems like a bit of a stretch. However, I can't rule out that possibility. It might be something like "nuclear waste changes humans into animals" or Marion died from poisoning and was reincarnated as a squirrel. Either way, I still don't believe that the poison would be the altering source. Also, coins from the temple getting stuck in the drains seems too much of a stretch as well, since the temple didn't really have any plumbing. I mean, it was a temple built several eons ago, and it's in the middle of the forest with no river in sight, so... how did the coins from the temple get near a water source?

Re: 2019/05/08 - Breaking News
It's time for one of my favorite hobbies, coming up with an insane theory. So IF the coins somehow managed to get out of whatever pocket dimension was being used in Pete's temple and did manage to somehow become spread throughout the area, that leads me to suggest that this could lead to the start of a new type of cult. Think about this, Steward has THE coin, let's call it the prime coin, then it is possible that others would find other coins and reach out to him. Let's say he manages to post this online (dare I say Reddit) and others find it, they could track him down. He could become a leader of a secret organization of therianthropes and other lunatics bent on causing untold chaos or simply using the cursed coins to try to build a criminal empire. They can wear the coins around their necks as a show of authority. Then they build power and include ferals into the organization who want to overthrow humanity. I mean I know we haven't seen ferals like that other than the dolphins but this is a PG comic about pets so of course we won't see them but that doesn't mean they aren't out there somewhere. Anyway, then Steward leads his march of animals against the citizens of Babylon Gardens, overthrows the Miltons, changes all the humans into animals where they have to either join their revolution or be locked in Mile's basement. Therefore leading the most unlikely of heroes, Marion, to lead a rebellion and stop Stewards plan.Welsh Halfwit wrote:There was more than one in that treasure pile.
