Perfect disguise: no one recognizes, no one tells.

Also, can't believe I'm saying this, but the collar actually works on the two of them.

Friends travel in collared packs
but the true Skunk will meow alone,
rooting the stores for the prizes
and little things he’ll call his own.
The collars are horrible to Jess
a sign of supposed human servitude;
she’ll remove hers fast later
but Zach won’t. he’s a prude.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Earl start this trend of pets holding their own leashes?

Unrelated: I'm impressed/baffled that Jessica can even pass off as a cat. At least they actually made it into the mall. (Cut to Falstaff and Truck outside holding leashes) But If you've ever seen Looney Tunes, you'd understand how Cory could pass off as a cat.

Not quite wrong. He said it was a loophole in the leash law. It never stated who was supposed to hold it, just that they needed to wear one in public places. Though I don't doubt that he was the one that came up with that, considering his personality.

I have to ask though, the people of Babylon Gardens should know what a cat looks like, and the people in the Housepets universe should be a bit more familiar with animals than people in the real world. How do enough people believe their disguises that they would both be able to move around a mall undetected?

There's less difference between "about the same size" mammals in the HP!verse than in our universe, with the exception of things like roos and bears that are more-or-less functional as bipeds in our universe anyway. Even critters that have quite a non-standard body plan in our universe, like ferrets, seem to be basically humanoids with fur and a tail like the rest.

Which reminds me that gargoyles are incongruously quadrupedal:

... I should've noticed this before, but i'm starting to notice alot of collars are green with a similar design. The ones with either no tag or are reserved outside of cats and dogs are also green. one major exception seems to be Bino. :3

Collars are important for a specific reason.

(Actually the color is closer to purple than pink

) I believe the intent has always been light grey, and Zach has been much more clearly grey since here. Rick's been playing with the color since, and his last appearance was an exact grey (RGB all the same number) as well as being fairly close to today's color.

He may have been grey in 2008 but by 2014 he was colored.This isn't grey. It's definitely pale purple/lavender. Jessica is grey.

And I'm on a Mac with my monitor calibrated to a gamma of 2.2 (I know Apple normally goes for 1.8 but everyone's PCs are set to 2.2 so online images look too dark if I don't match that).

Yeah, but the color looks a lot more grey in isolation. Rick may have not noticed quite how lavender it appears in context after selecting it in the color picker. It's RGB is 207, 207, 239, so it does have a little more blue than a normal grey would, but it's not terribly far off. Plus Rick's stated desire for this color has always been a light grey tinged with a bit of something (most commonly blue it would seem). Jessica here is an exact grey, so it may be that juxtaposed next to Zach's color, we see the blue more.

It actually is interesting to take note of, really. Only grabbed a handful of images that I thought could provide good color info. The May 15 one is the one I mainly use for my recolors.
