Trivial things of which you're ashamed

Post by Sleet »

Sometimes a good thread needs an opposite. Of what little, insignificant things are you ashamed? Note the "trivial" in the title. I'm not looking for a heavy thread; if you're ashamed that you killed a guy once, then this is not the place for that story.

-I am ashamed that I am a very slow swimmer.
-I am ashamed that despite my rampant fanboy-/fangirlism, I am incapable of reciting more than very short excerpts from the Pokérap.
-I am ashamed that my right leg is not as flexible as my left.

you know...a description of myself (which I've stated many times IRL) is:

"I have no pride, but I have no shame."

...maybe I should add I have no luck considering this...

I'm honestly not ashamed of anything, sorry. I'm far from perfect...but I'm very even in a lot of things. Sure, I'm a slow learner (as was proven today in the IRC)...but I'm not really ashamed of that. I just accept it. Shame is the opposite of pride...and I'm gonna give an ironic answer here as well.

I'm ashamed to not feel ashamed of anything.

You're a rampant pokemon fanboy-/fangirl?

Actually, that's a good one. I too am ashamed that I can't recite anything at all from the Pokerap. On that note, I frequently am ashamed that I can't recite more than the first 6 lines of A Ghost Pumpkin's Soup, from the Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack.

I'm ashamed that despite thinking "blatant" I typed "rampant" instead. Though I guess it still technically works.

But yeah. Totally.

I'm ashamed of how often I spend on the computer.

I'm ashamed of how many of my friends vandalize things and/or do/sell drugs.

I'm ashamed of that time I put traffic cones on a somewhat busy road at 10 PM when I was 14 and waited for cars to run them over.

I'm not say that it wasn't fun, though. ;p

a lot of these sound like things people are disappointed with rather than actually ashamed of

i'm too ashamed of the things i'm ashamed of, regardless of triviality, to share them. i don't think i'll be using this thread a lot. :V

I'm ashamed that I don't know many songs by some of the best heavy metal bands.
I'm ashamed that usually can't understand lyrics in a song on English :(
I'm ashamed that I have never been to sea.
I'm ashamed that I have never been in a relationship.
I'm ashamed that I play Pokemon too much....

Well, the list can go on and on, but let's leave it at this.

Most every artist thinks that way, if you draw, you become nit-picky of your work.

True story! I am not satisfied with my own work too!

Also, I am ashamed that I (almost) can't draw anything without a "reference".

Sure, I know a bit about the basic theory of drawing... But I can't seem to follow it. Then again, I am really more of a programmer than artist.

And apparently I also (almost) can't program anything without my "notes"...

I've done some thinking on things I should feel ashamed of...

I should be ashamed that I'm jealous of so many friends.
I should be ashamed that I gave up guitar after only trying for 12 months and getting nowhere.
I should be ashamed for almost hating the person who should be dearest to me.
I should be ashamed that I can't help but show off when something good happens to me.
I should be ashamed that I sometimes take insults as complements.
I should be ashamed of what I've done...so many times...

Okay, that last thing I might be actually ashamed of. I guess I still have shame, even if it is small.

I'd say these are deffinatly more 'shameful' then 'dissapointment'. If I'm dissapointed in myself, I try to improve. I'm should be ashamed that I can't improve on these.

If I was really ashamed...I don't think I'd share them.

...now go on. If you think I'm a bad person, feel free to share it. It's not an insult if I'm not insulted. If I'm not ashamed, 1 can say my Conscience is lacking, in which case my standards of good and bad are twisted. That could be why I can't call anybody evil. I've never benn able to use that word outside of fiction. I never will.

I really feel the jealous of friends part. They're your friends and all, but sometimes, you just can't help feeling jealous of what they got or accomplished and you haven't.
