My dad found this picture somewhere online and sent it to me. Funniest picture I think I've ever seen!

Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

So I haven't been too active as of late, and that's because I needed a vacation and took a quick trip to Taiwan.
So behold, photos! These two are taken in the woods of Mt. Ali!

Here's a beautiful sunset over the marshes.

aaaand here's another sunset, only this time taken at ~3000m elevation; above cloud level.

I like the darkness of the areas between the trees and the wind turbines.
A steady, but luminous glow of power in the dark

Thanks Doug!
Really good shots, deepskycyan! I really want to go to Taiwan now, just for that walking trail. D:

Wow, I didn't realize there was a third book - I might have to check it out.
Nice shirts! Come to think of it, that'd be a great way to identify yourself at conventions.

Really good snaps, Deske! Great job!
But the real question is, how long did it take you to scuffle to the front of the crowd to get that Mona Lisa pic?

1.5 minutes while someone else took a picture with it. It was during a weekday so there weren't many people there.deepskycyan wrote:Really good snaps, Deske! Great job!

Thanks. It was really fun going to Paris. I'm just sad I don't have more pictures of Germany. Should've taken a few at Oktoberfest.Amazee Dayzee wrote:I just love the view from the top of the Arc and of the Castle! They really look very nice! Great photos!

Coincidentally there is a soda that is named after Moxie falls...

What does it taste like? I never heard of it.
Re: Photography Thread
It tastes... interesting. You can only get it in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont I think, so I brought some back after my trip. They say you either love it or you hate it. Sry, can't describe... My dad thought it tasted like weak cream soda tho XD... I didn't think it tasted like cream soda at all...

That is so pretty! Nice job on catching it! I love the sunset!
Re: Photography Thread
Took this while walking home from school in the cold.
At the time when the clouds have pink in the fold.
And I think of the coming night,
As I wish to bask in the light,
Of the moon,
Which is coming out soon.
Random Poem XD

Re: Photography Thread
Some very nice photos. As a weather fanatic (particularly extreme weather), I really like Kitela's picture of what appears to be a frontal zone; marked by the sharp gradient in mid to low-level clouds. Czukay's picture is also very nice (as well as his poem); looks like there may be some vertical shear in the cloud deck to create that pattern.
Here's a couple that I dug-up from a while back. One of a double rainbow (the secondary very faintly visible to the right of the primary) and the other of fall streaks or virga (in which precipitation from the cloud evaporates before reaching the ground; often creating soft brush stroke-like features at the base, as seen here).

That is so cool! I can really see it in the second picture! Nice job!
Re: Photography Thread
It looked like a frontal zone. We tend to get a lot of dry, cold air masses during the winter.
Here's a picture of the same clouds with a wider angle.

Also, A few weeks ago we got slammed by a snowstorm. I went on an adventure (mostly while on my job) and took some pictures with my cell phone. :3
It was especially beautiful because all of the trees were completely covered in snow. Here's a sample of the good ones.

I should have really took pictures of the massive icicles we had on our roof, but I was too lazy and my mother removed most of them anyway.

Here's a shot I took on my phone of the river along my way to uni. I get to ride along here twice every day.
