That's A LOT better. Still could use a little more emotion I think. Also, what's all the sound in the background? Is your mic moving or what?
Erm... I don't really see what constructive criticism this would need... :\Zander wrote:JOFOXX wrote:That was awesome Zander! You should do more of those. xDIts called "Test" for a reason. Thanks, Yeah its the mic moving and stuff, i'm still working on the emotions ^^
Re: Housepets! Radio Show
Ah, thought so. You should try and fix it into place somewhere. Anyway, keep up the good work, and make sure to post here as you progress!

Re: Housepets! Radio Show
I agree, very good Rojo. I'd be very disappointed if you didn't get the role. I'll be able to give con-crit (If necessary) when I'm back home. Atm I'm at a friends, so I put it on quietly ^^
Also, Zander, that. Was. AWESOME! However, I should tell you I've recorded Mile's final line for that comic as well...

AWESOME! Since others have already mentioned the technical problems with the audition and the performance, let me just say that I think that voice is the best voice for Grape that I've heard so far! (I don't know if that's a compliment or not, since you're a guy.... )
But it has the "kid"-like element that the pets ought to have, and the voice is suitably ambiguous. More, please!
(Also, you forgot to yawn. And the ninja noises.)

I'll take it as a compliment, after all i am auditioning for her. And the first few times i did the yawn; and i totally forgot about the ninjas xD

Well, I still want to see more auditions, even if you turn out not to get the part--like from later arcs! I did multiple auditions when I was auditioning.Rojo Ninja wrote:I'll take it as a compliment, after all i am auditioning for her. I meant other story arcs, not other characters (though if you wanted to audition for other characters, no reason not to--cover all your bases and all, I did that too).Rojo Ninja wrote:More Grape or others too? I've done a lot of Grape, but i think i should redo those.
And yes, you should redo the ones you've got--but you probably don't need to in order to get cast, just to have something workable for the final project!

How do I know? I'm not the one in charge of this....Zander wrote:do i get the job of "Animator"? :3ChewyChewy wrote:final project!
But that would REALLY be excellent if we could see animated versions of the comics with our voices coming out of their mouths!

you have no idea how hard it is to do that... it would take a month and a half based on wha i know in flash to do one comic ._.ChewyChewy wrote:How do I know? I'm not the one in charge of this....Zander wrote:do i get the job of "Animator"? :3ChewyChewy wrote:final project!

You're right, I don't. I wasn't suggesting that you or anyone actually DO that, just saying it'd be neat IF....Zander wrote:you have no idea how hard it is to do that... it would take a month and a half based on wha i know in flash to do one comic ._.

Well, that's the next best thing, isn't it?
EDIT: Just occurred to me that Rojo Ninja's Grape audition sounds kind of like my Peanut audition--but MUCH better.

But yes, still needs work, especially in terms of speaking up. I had to turn the volume all the way up just to hear you, and even then I wanted to turn it up more....

Thanks! What i need is a better mic! I'm using a headset mic held away from my mouth! xD
Re: Housepets! Radio Show
Hmm... You could try turning on mic boost, from the computer's sound settings-- though it picks up on background noise more easily as well, of course.Rojo Ninja wrote:Thanks! What i need is a better mic! I'm using a headset mic held away from my mouth! xD

Mic boost is all the way up, just an old mic.
Get ready for another! (that is not incredibly loud either, especially the end)

Everytime you submit these they get better and better. If Ebly doesn't give you the part, I'm going to be upset. xD

Yeah, the end needs to be a little more "swoony" in tone.... You know, embarrassed, blushing, and swooning over sexy lions in tribal gear?Rojo Ninja wrote:Mic boost is all the way up, just an old mic.

Re: Housepets! Radio Show
Bum bum bummmmmm!!!! I found another mic, like an actual microphone mic, the kind that goes on a mic stand; any ways I just need to get an adapter for it to use on my laptop, and hopefully it works, and hopefully it is better than the one I was using! ^^
Edit: gonna still use old mic for auditions, but will get the adapter if i get any sort of role in this thing

Idk about this one... Kinda sounds like your "scared" (very shrill, jerky, etc.). Maybe your trying too hard to do a more feminine voice?Don46 wrote:All right, I have re-recorded my first audition, Hopefully it sounds better.

AWESOME!
One thing though. I'm pretty sure Bino is pronounced "Beeno".
Anyway, I really like your Grape.

Re: Housepets! Radio Show
You did a great job with the voice acting. However, I must say that your voice doesn't suit Grape IMO. It should sound more feminine - she is a female, after all.

Not to sound like a jerk, but Rick said in an interview that it is pronounced "Bye-no."JOFOXX wrote:AWESOME!

Re: Housepets! Radio Show
I always "pictured" Grape having a more aggressive tone, as she does have quite the temper sometimes :3

Re: Housepets! Radio Show
I have decided to follow recent tradition, and invade Youtube with something Housepets! related. Therefore, enjoy ALL MY AUDITIONS IN ONE VIDEO! MWU HA HA HA HAAAA!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfFsEIePQzM
Also;
Also, even if Rick hadn't said it was pronounced "bye-no" (I didn't actually hear or read that myself, but I'm trusting Don not to just make that up XD) the way English works, or at least British English, imply it should be Bye-no.
When a vowel is followed by a single consonant, then another vowel, the first is pronounced as it is as a capital, or in the alphabet. For example, in Fido, the 'i' is pronounced as 'eye', because it is followed by a consonant (d) and then another vowel (o)
In Fiddler, the 'i' is pronounced as 'ih', because it is followed by more than one consonant (dd).
As such, Bino should be Bye-no :3
The more you know! (There will be exceptions, but these are mostly regional. For example, Zebra is pronounced in American English, I think, as Zee-bra, which breaks the rule. In British English however it is Zeh-bra)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfFsEIePQzM
Also;
I thought your most recent audition was great, Rojo. A more feminine voice would perhaps suit Grape as we know her now, but earlier comics need her to have the possibility of being either.Alex wrote:You did a great job with the voice acting. *Edit - I just re-read the following. It sounds ruder than I meant it, but so long as you know it wasn't meant to be, I don't think I need to edit it. It's meant to be a "just so you know" explanation, not a complaint or rubbing anything in*JOFOXX wrote: One thing though. I'm pretty sure Bino is pronounced "Beeno".
