The only thing is that being a peaceful place, Redwall wouldn't forge a lot of arms or armour. He'd spend most of the time making or repairing tools, fittings, and whatever else was needed. Armour and weapons would be the rarity and probably only forged when there were reports of vermin armies in the area, which hasn't been very often at all lately, hence the feast. Other than that he looks great.
You can start first thing in the morning since we're winding the day up now.
Rival?
hah, there won't be a competition.

Ugh, I forgot his name is actually Laterose, not Rose :p
But Laterose is the leader of the Laterose patrol. The LRP is a guard group that protects a town called "Noonvale" up north. The travel distance from Noonvale to Redwall varies from 2 years on foot, to a matter of weeks by walking and sailing, to a matter of days by flying.
Laterose is a master of the longsword, able to wield his sword at bluring speed with pinpoint accuracy. He also has amazing intimidation and interrogation skills when it comes to dealing with vermin.
So I guess he is a rival-- I don't have time to start a competition when the lives of my people are being threatened almost daily by vermin attacks.
...
Well, there you have it kids, Vincent "Laterose" of Noonvale!

well to be honest. I don't know how I feel about already maybe having a competition before I know everyone. but its done so we can have fun with it right?

Bluring, not blinding. Still, it doesn't match up to Laterose's strength...
I'm trying to make Laterose's sword style like Marth from Fire Emblem, but I guess Asuna's rapier style from Sword Art Online would be more appropriate.
I think I'll change the weapon Laterose wields to a rapier.

Good idea. I agree with Esper. Longswords were designed for slashing and wide, heavy swings by the men in the front line of the army. You can't wield them fast.
Long swords are for sure an item that was used for more power and force over speed. Though thats about all I remember from them. A rapier (or even for that matter a "Cutlass" but that's more a weapon used in a different time), would be faster for sure. A fighter using a rapier would also sometimes have a dagger as well I believe that would be used in a fight for a reason (that I just now forgot). Although I don't know if they were used in Britain though, were they?

Although the world of Redwall is heavily based on and influenced by medieval England, there are many differences between this world and that. Both cutlasses and rapiers are frequently mentioned in the books so I'll allow them both in the RP. Cutlasses tended to be used by vermin though as most vermin were seafaring creatures and cutlasses tended to be popular among seafaring folk in the real world. Other swords that have been mentioned include broadswords, Sgian Dhubs, dirks, claymores, and other generalised swords so pretty much anything goes really. I wouldn't allow Middle Eastern or Asian swords at all though because they weren't mentioned in the books at all, nor were they in Europe at the time.
You're right that rapiers are used by the hares although they're renowned for boxing and kickboxing. It's the shrews who are famed for their use of rapiers; in particular the Guosim shrews.
I edited my original post to give Vincent a rapier and dagger.
MrNeonShot wrote:Appearance: Unlike his brother who has grey fur, Laterose has orange fur, and His eye color is brown. He wears a pair of black pants, and a grey shirt with an embroidered rose on the back. Laterose wields a rapier with a rose engraved into the handle, as well as a small dagger.

A parrying dagger was often used by duelists in the Renaissance to allow for keeping the main offensive blade free, but has since been dropped out of practice as fencing has become a more refined sport.
Longswords and zweihanders both are too heavy for use with one hand or very agile movement, thus making them incompatible with a shield. Single handed broadswords, however, can be used with a shield, but are still considerably slower than shortswords like the rapier

That's what I was thinking of. Thanks for clarifying Esper.

That said, a skilled broadswordscreature could still defeat a rapier-weilding creature. It's all about timing and accuracy rather than strength and speed.

What was the thing they always put at the end of redwall?
"Be sure to visit us when your passing by" or something?

That and variations of it.
"if you're ever in Mossflower Country, be sure to drop in and see us"
"if ever you're passing by, be sure to drop in and say hello"
etc.

It's okay, I included you in my new post, I think it should help you at least respond or make a post and move your character forward.
I think at least.
