Grape is having a good time however Peanut is not.

My Theory is that if Grape hangs out with max. Peanut then has no one to hang out with.
Then Peanut is sad again. But Grape is happy.

oh, for now we two are the only ones who shouted out loud our thoughts, but give it time, give it time...

(btw, it also means that Rick is doing an excellent job with the comic, if he pushes his fan to analyze it as if it were a real world and making feel us so empathically involved with its characters instead of accepting it without question)

Well, this one sent me through the gamut of reactions:

Thoughts:
- Aw, sad Max is so pitifully plaintive.
- Aww, what an adorable pair at the movies.
- Whoa whoa that last panel is beautifuly drawn.
- WHOA whoa is that actually Grape doing the most feminine and feline thing ever?
- Okay, Max may be actually slightly manipulative?
- But Grape really was ready to give up way too soon, not fair on Max...
- But Grape can't be doing this with Max, what about PEANUT...
- But really wouldn't Max be better for her? And less bizarre?
- Wow, the fact that this sends all of this off means Rick is being pretty intricate with his plotting. It would have been way too easy to just have Max turn out to be an unadultrated jerk.
- ... DAAAAMN YOU RICK.

Third panel: Just like the 2nd panel in the previously linked comic, with Grape saying: "Now come on, what's wrong this time?", and Peanut replying: "It's nothing.... I just watched All Dogs go to Heaven Again... I'm glad you had a good time".
Fourth panel: Grape walks away while saying "Oh, that's all? Good to hear everything's fine. I'll go to bed, good night".

Yeah, the dog is just too good to tell the truth. But since we haven't seen anybody kiss in this comic before, I doubt that the third panel in your imagined comic will happen.

that's why I imagined a 'gentlecat' kiss and not a passionate one (now that would be WAY out of character!). Furthermore, all good dates end up with a kiss.
as for the rest, your scenario is less sinister, and also plausible (I imagined one in the comment to the prior strip myself, check it out)

I don't know, if Rick really wants to draw the pets kissing in any way, he'd do it already. Although I don't see what's wrong with it at all. Even a passionate kiss would be fine, since he didn't delete the "Star-crossed" fanfic by Sinder, nor did he delete the picture by Two_Twig made for that fanfic.

As for the "Plausible" part, I honestly doubt it lol

. I doubt that anybody guessed anything right about the future comics.......

What do I think? I don't know what to think anymore

, I want to feel bad for Peanut (whom I care for dearly in a fan way) and I do, yet I feel as though this Max/Grape thing wouldn't be such a bad thing as it keeps progressing. It's all really confusing... Peanut! Forgive me!

Hm.. you're right. The flowers (in this comic) don't look that cheap, either. Maybe he's stealing Bino's allowance xD?

well, maybe Max's mom bought him the bouquet for the occasion. What mom wouldn't help out her son to a perfect date?

as for Fido, the Bigglesworth brother, etc, they served their purpose by creating akwawrdeness for the date. They have been consequently discarded.

While I shall forever be a Peanut-Grape shipper (My god. Did I just say that? ;-; What have I become), Grape-Max wouldn't be TOO bad, as long as its for love and all and not so Grape can be "normal" and as long as non-standard pet relationships don't have to forever stay in the dark :v Honestly the whole Grape-Max thing would be easier to swallow if it didn't seem like a case of peer pressure and Fantastic Racism applied to animal relationships.
