Re: Pet Friendly - Richmond Acres
John turns to Flynn. "Joan and I are going to get Koa's stuff from his ex-iwners house. You guys'll be right here on your own 'till we get back?"
"'Course, Dad. I'm a grown rabbit. We'll be fine."
"Good. Remember not to go into those tunnels again. You've got our phone numbers if you need us."
"Yes, Dad, I know. We'll be fine. See you later."
"Good. See you later. We'll get back when we can."
With that Joan, John and Koa get in the car.
"Sheesh, humans." says Flynn to the pets when they're out of earshot, shaking his head.
~~~~
Buckling on his seatbelt, John turns to Koa.
"Can you give us directions to your old place? And is there anything we need to know about your old owner before we meet him? Is he likely to be violent or anything like that?" He noses the car into the street and points it into town.
After telling john the directions to his old house Koa begins to describe his ex-owner. "He's never really been one to get violent with other people. He has a tendency to threaten though. I mean if we're lucky he'll be passed out on the floor. you might want to watch your steps though....theres a lot of glass." Koa sits and thinks "He's really stupid, so if you're thinking of distracting him it won't be hard."
"We were planning for Joan to help you carry your stuff out while I get your ex-owner to sign the papers. If he is asleep we'll unfortunately have to wake him. How do you reckon he'd respond to that? Do you think he's likely to be compliant and sign?"
"I hope so." John stops the car outside the house. "This looks like it." He and Joan exit the car, walk up the path and rings the doorbell.
Re: Pet Friendly - Richmond Acres
Hearing the doorbell ring. a man in his late 40s show up at the door. He smelled of beer and didn't look like he shaved in months. When he opened the door he opened it just enough for anyone to see the carpet stained and covered with various debris, mainly glass. "What do you want?" He said with a disoriented voice. He failed to even notice Koa standing by Joan.
"I'm John Porter and this is my wife Joan. We're told that you've given Koa up for adoption so we're here to adopt him and collect his gear. I have all the paperwork here - all you need to do is sign it and we'll be out of your hair. May we come in?" John asks, trying to be pleasant and ignore the odour.
"Yeah, might be best not to," agreed Lucky, "Anyway we also found an underground lake. I nearly fell in, but then didn't. Poor Flynn did though. he nearly caught hypothermia, but he's alright now."Hlaoroo wrote:"Oh, cool! So I was right!" she takes the camera and after a few unsuccessful attempts at manipulating it, sets it on the counter, removes her gloves, and then tries again. Flicking through the photos, she laughs.
"Oh, good one of your leg there, Lucky. You must have banged the shutter while you were walking." she turns the camera around so he can see before resuming looking through the photos.
"That's Flynn, is it? You know, I don't recognise any of these pets. There must be a few new folk arou... Wow! Look at that cavern! So the surveyors were right. There are natural tunnels, and Marvin did build onto them against the architects advice." She hands the camera back before donning her gloves again and spinning the plan and letter around so Lucky can see.
"I've got some more gloves if you want to pick these up for a closer look, but then again, knowing your luck..."
"I knew it! I knew it! That's what I told that reporter guy who was in here earlier!" she flips through the photos again seeing Flynn in several of them. "Flynn's alright, ain't he?" She blushes, although it can't be seen on her face, it's visible through the thinner, white hair in her ears. "Oh, er... sorry, was that out loud? I... er... didn't mean... ah...not that you're not also... er... I... er... ah... Ahem." She changes the subject. "Could you see any labels on that crate of soda? I can't make it out in the photo."
"Yeah he's alright," said Lucky somewhat deflated, "And it was too dark to make out the labels." Then Flynn fell in the water we pulled him out, and then some pets fell out of the ceiling and onto me."
Koa couldn't help but be overcome with fear. "Uhh...umm...o.o...OK..." with that he quickly ran to get some glasses of water for john and joan, and a beer for jake. "Now where do you want me to sign?"
John doesn't like the idea of consuming or imbibing anything from this house.
"You don't have to do thaat, Koa. You don't belong to him anymore, and besides, we're not staying. But thank you for the kind offer. Koa, why don't you show Joan where your stuff is whilst I show this gentleman where to sign."
"Yes, his name's Hutch, ironically. Came here from the city, I think." She shows lucky the card. "He wanted information on Civil War bunkers but he was very interested in Winston House and the tunnels when I mentioned them."
Meanwhile..
Aron walked around town for quite some time, passing many houses and shops..
He finally notices an antique shop. Hmm, antique shop? Maybe they have some old airplane models.. He thought as he walked toward it. He reached the door, turned the knob and entered, the ringing bell announcing his arrival.
"Hello?" Aron said as he entered.
Piper looks up as the door jingles and the rabbit walks in. "Oh, hello. Can I help you with anything at all?"
Re: Pet Friendly - Richmond Acres
"Ah, yes, I was.." Aron stopped as he saw where the voice that answered him came from. "..Well, I w-was wondering if y-you had anything to do with a-a-aviation?" He asked, obviously more nervous than when he entered.
"This way." he lead joan to a room where there is a small blanket on the floor and small foldable desk. Koa points to two case one holding a flute and the other holding a cello. "If you can grab those two, I'll grab my laptop."
------
"Ok, its signed. Is that it, because I got better stuff to do than worrying about that dog."
"Sure. I can take a few more things if I stick the flute under the arm holding the cello. What else do you need?"
~~~~
"Missed one. Sign here too, please... Thanks. We'll we gone as soon as we finish collecting Koa's stuff."

Piper is all business, deciding not to comment on the other rabbit's obvious nervousness."I'm sure we do. Dad will know more about that than I will though - I do more with the musical instruments and the old documents. I'll get him for you if you like. Cover your ears for me, will you?" Unhooking the pipes from her collar she blows a loud, piercing note on the highest of the pipes. As she rehooks the instrument to her collar she explains.
"He hears that better than my voice when he's upstairs." A few moments later Richard shuffles down the stairs and into the shop.
"Did you whistle for me, Piper?"
"Yes, Dad. This gentlepet would like to look at our aviation-related stuff.
"Hmm? Our what?"
"TURN UP YOUR HEARING AIDS!" Piper smiles at the pets while Richard fiddles in his ears. "He turns them down when he works with the power tools or loud appliances, you see, and he sometimes forgets to turn them up again."
Richard smiles. "There we are. I can hear you now. What was the lad after?"
"He'd like to look at anything to do with aviation."
"Ah, yes, of course, why not? We have several books on the subject down this end of the shop as well as several model planes - not antique, you understand as heavier-than-air flight is barely a hundred years old itself, but still rather interesting, I do believe. I also have a rather jolly antique photograph of a hot air balloon over a county fair if your interested. If you would be so kind as to follow me I'll show you where everything is." He shuffles off towards the back of the shop.

Re: Pet Friendly - Richmond Acres
As Hutch walked out of the shop, he noticed a rabbit walking down the road. Hutch decided he didn't want to bother anyone else that isn't apparent of the case. The rabbit opened the door to the shop. Then Hutch had a small thought. "Unless he is important to th case..."
Hutch paused at this thought. Then he just kept walking, thinking information doesn't walk up to you and shout hello. He watched yet another rabbit walk by him. "Is there any OTHER animal besides rabbits in this town?" All the while, he is speaking his report into his phone. The camera busted a long time ago. Otherwise, he would have just taken a photo of the documents.
Finally, Hutch made it to the Giant house, which name escapes him at the moment.
He knocked on the door, awaiting an answer. Hutch noticed on his hands were still Pipers gloves.
He took them off, smelling them to get Pipers scent. He decided to keep the gloves, because he wanted something to remember his his friend by, just in case what happened last time... He snapped himself out of his thoughts by pocketing the gloves.

A pointy red muzzle pokes out of the garage door.
"Hello! They're out, everyone's out the back, well, except for me, I'm trying to get a good shot of the ghost and I wish I had some dry ice. that would make it so much easier. Oh, sorry, introductions. I'm Sixtoes Walton, and you would be...?"

Re: Pet Friendly - Richmond Acres
Talking talking talking woke Zanna up from her light sleep. The husky sat up in a haze, some loose grass from the front lawn stuck to her back. The last thing she remembered doing was cloud watching. Looking up she was reassured by the fact clouds were still there, along with all the other pieces of the sky. Turning her head she spotted Sixtoes, along with another dog she's never seen before. Shaking her head she stood up and yawned, trying to shake away the clouds of sleep that fogged her mind.

Hutch thought about how stupid that sounded, then asked "I mean, do you know if the home owners are here?"
Hitched out of the corner of his eye to see a sleepy looking dog. He decided to not mention it unless it walked up.

Hearing the talking in the front Ryyn makes his way over to the journalist and Sixtoes. "Oh good I was starting to worry us dogs would be over ran by rabbits and cats." He gives a small chuckle "I'm Ryyn by the way."
Like shadows upon the wall you see only the action, not the reason behind it.

As he and the man get further from the others, Aron calms down and is able to speak properly again. "So, uh, Mr.. How long have you had this place? It's quite the establishment.." He asked, looking at all the items and books on the shelves they passed. "Hm, Father would probably love this place.. He's a historian, you see.. We just moved into town, and I was looking for something to decorate my new bedroom. I've always loved old planes and stuff, mostly Biplanes and Zeppelins, but all aircraft are cool." He said, rubbing the back of his neck.
They walked a little while longer before he spoke again. "My name's Aron, by the way.." Aron said, leaning to the side to make sure he was hearing him.

"Alrighty then. I think we're done." Joan says as she passes John in the hall on her way out with the plant.
"And we are too. Thank you for that, sir. We shall leave you in peace now." replies Joan. Walking out to the car he shuts the boot after Joan loads in the plant and then walks around to thr driver's seat. Twisting around to Koa in the backseat, he smiles at the small dog.
"Well, you're now officially a Porter. How does it feel?"
~~~~
"Why thank you. I'm quite proud of it. It belonged to my father and I inherited it from him. It was he who first built the place and established the business. If I told you how long I've had it it would give away my age. Suffice to say I've had it as long as I've had it and I intend to keep it for a lot longer. Biplanes and Zepplins, you say? I may have just the thing." he stops and turns to face the rabbit, smiling and offering his large mitt in a friendly handshake.
"Oh, do excuse me, where are my manners? I'm Richard Brookley. You can call me Richard. "Mr Brookley" makes me feel so old. Mind you, that's a fairly accurate description nowadays but one doesn't like to think of those things, does one? Now!" he walks a short distance further down the shelf and runs his finger along the spines of the books, clicking his tongue as he searches.
"Aha! Here we are. This section here is on aviation. There are some models, figurines and the like in the case behind you there and there's a toy or two on that table down the end. If you'd like to wait here a moment, I have something to show you."
He disappears into the back room for a few minutes and a few clunks and bangs can be heard as he searches. It's not long before he returns with a dusty poster tube. Pulling the plug out of the end, he tips the tube into his hand to reveal what looks like a very old, slighty yellowed and cracked poster.
"This isn't an original, mind you, just a very clever fake, a replica of something much older. A private collecter brought it in to be valued and when I broke the news to him he was so upset that he just stormed out and left it on the counter. He didn't leave me any details so I handed it over to the police and in due course they gave it back again. I had it sitting out the back for a while before you reminded me of it. I was going to throw it out - I couldn't sell it anyway, but I think you might like it."
He unrolls the poster.
Now!" he walks a short distance further down the shelf and runs his finger along the spines of the books, clicking his tongue as he searches.
"Aha! Here we are. This section here is on aviation. There are some models, figurines and the like in the case behind you there and there's a toy or two on that table down the end. If you'd like to wait here a moment, I have something to show you."
He disappears into the back room for a few minutes and a few clunks and bangs can be heard as he searches. It's not long before he returns with a dusty poster tube. Pulling the plug out of the end, he tips the tube into his hand to reveal what looks like a very old, slighty yellowed and cracked poster.
"This isn't an original, mind you, just a very clever fake, a replica of something much older. A private collecter brought it in to be valued and when I broke the news to him he was so upset that he just stormed out and left it on the counter. He didn't leave me any details so I handed it over to the police and in due course they gave it back again. I had it sitting out the back for a while before you reminded me of it. I was going to throw it out - I couldn't sell it anyway, but I think you might like it."
He unrolls the poster.
Re: Pet Friendly - Richmond Acres
Slowly slowly Zanna came out of her daze and padded over to the other pets, the aviator goggles around her neck swayed and clinked clacked against her collar tag as she went.
"Helloooo.". She greeted cheerfully, looking from familiar faces to one of a stranger. Regarding him up and down she took a sniff in his direction.
"You smell like the city.".
"Huh?" Rusty said, noticing that some of the pets were heading round to the front of the house, "Where's everyone going?"
"Let's find out, shall we, Rusty?" suggests Flynn, leading the way around the house.
"Huh, no, I don't think there's any houses around here owned by animals unless you mean Mister Badger but he's not technically the owner of his house though I bet you could sell tickets for anyone trying to take it away from him."MrNeonShot wrote:"Hutch Times, journalist. Are you the home owner?"
He takes Hutch's paw and shakes it, then turns around as the rest of the crew arrives. "And these are... um... everyone, it looks like. The home owner's out adopting a new dog. I'm just visiting. Everyone, this is Hutch!"
