I hope! yes.. actually, he's kissing. I wonder PETE meant only 'Down knee' or 'Down knee with praying'.CHAOKOCartoons wrote:But he's not PRAYING, he's KISSING! ...theres a difference you know.komo13 wrote:GUYS

KNEES, guys. Not "Knee." Plural. Pete said knees. Also, as someone said, he wasn't praying.
Re: 2013/05/31 - End Of Year Five
I do have a question though, on the kissing panel someone said "I will move heaven and earth to get to you." Was that pete saying that or someone else?

it's actually was "whatever the cost may be , I'll move heaven and earth to get to you" , and because of that "cost" word , I think it's King saying/thinking it , because as happy as he is at the moment , King knows the situation he got himself into , and the price he might have to pay in the end , "move heaven and earth" could mean that he'll do anything , including something as impossible as fighting against Pete , just to be with BaileyCashuea wrote:I do have a question though, on the kissing panel someone said "I will move heaven and earth to get to you." That will be one of the pictures when doing the final cut of HP!.... no matter what, that pic will be in any story of Housepets.
The Cosmic nerds have played very little into Bailey and King, honestly. We may wonder when the hammer will fall on this, but it is more fun when it does not in my opinion.... Rick at his best.
Look at Bailey in the last panel! She is so lovestruck~

For some reason, I can just imagine Meat Loaf singing "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" in the background.

Maybe it's called Columbia? That was Washington State's original name. They apparently didn't want to confuse it with Washington D.C., though, so they changed it. Although most who live in WA know that that doesn't usually work out.Frank wrote:On a more serious note, it's probably three syllables. It was stated in the comic that Chuck Lindberg's farm in Kansas lay about nine hour of car ride from Babylon Gardens.
This helps restricting the field, methinks.

Rick is in Alabama, and according to Google maps, a drive between the closest corners of Alabama and Kansas is nearly 9 hours. :3valerio wrote:It was stated in the comic that Chuck Lindberg's farm in Kansas lay about nine hour of car ride from Babylon Gardens.

I'm still imagining "Ms. Jackson" by OutKast, because the sound effect on Monday reminded me of the facetious wedding march sound used in its last verse and coda.CrazyAce wrote:For some reason, I can just imagine Meat Loaf singing "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" in the background.

We could find the ring of locations 9 hours from Kansas and exclude the ones in Canada and Mexico, as well as those too urban or rural to be the location of Housepets! This assumes they drove a steady 65 MPH on highways. Shrink the circles a little for rest stops, expand them for higher speed limits in square empty states..

Keep in mind, they also have Chronic Constant Winter Syndrome, so it probably isn't Alabama.

Most of Nebraska is too close. I always kind of assumed they were somewhere around the "I band" - Iowa, Illinois, Indiana.
Anyone who wants to do a similar map, I started with How Far can I Travel and did a little layering in Gimp. You can also try http://cartoo.dyndns.org/ which produces higher detail maps, but I didn't find it until just now.

I've always been partial to the more southern states myself which, based on the picture, is looking like Tennessee, Arkansas.

Re: 2013/05/31 - End Of Year Five
I personally place it in Illinois. It has the right weather, its in the 9 hour area its Capital is Springfield (though admittedly almost every other state has a Springfield) and Chicago is there as well. Remember the truck from Curse of the Aztec Gold was coming from a Springfield and going to Chicago which while it doesn't narrow it down much it does help.
Re: 2013/05/31 - End Of Year Five
Ah, yes, forgot about that.
Re: 2013/05/31 - End Of Year Five
I always thought Babylon gardens was in Missouri?
If it were any further south of the Mason Dixon line there would not be nearly as much snow.
We also have to keep in mind that the neighborhood of Babylon Gardens is fictional and theoretically could be placed anywhere Rick wants it to be.

I am not sure about this, but I believe I read somewhere that Rick based the region Babylon Gardens is in around his own childhood home in Virginia... it is ruled out by the road trip, but perhaps, just perhaps, I am remembering correctly? It has always been in my head that although it is not there, the region, weather, and basic climate and geography are based on that...
Re: 2013/05/31 - End Of Year Five
Perhaps, though I thought that he was just talking about Peanut and Grapes house, and not the suburb itself?
