Music.
There is one song that I have listened to on repeat for the last six hours.
Iris, By Goo Goo Dolls.
I just felt it was necissary to explain my feeling of self accomplishment to someone.
What song(s) have you been stuck on recently?

i don't care how stupid a name for a genre it is
but man
IDM.
i've been absolutely hooked.
hooooooooooooooooooked.
hahaha idm is the worst label ever as far as labels go
someone give me something else i can call it.
but besides that i really do like the music. like all bad labels aside it's sexy.
also.
maximum the hormone.
they're just. oh my god.
absolute aural temporarily blind.
that is all for now.
i've been listening to too much speedcore lately though
i knew as soon as i was listening to a 210 bpm song and thought "muffins and cookies this is slow" so U:
of course none of those are specific songs. xD
i'd have to say, my ideal playlist of ear canal heaven (at the moment) would be:
I Love (Orange Things) by Flexe
The Big Orange Love by The Flashbulb
Innocent by M1DY
Louisiana Bob by Maximum The Hormone
Freedom by M1DY
Chik Habit by The Flashbulb
Splatterhouse by SamplingMasters YOU
Chu Chu Lovely Muni Muni Mura Mura Purin Purin Boron Nururu Rero Rero by Maximum The Hormone

It's a shame that the quality on the video is so terrible (though I don't think the filming is all that special either) because it's both a good song and an excellent premise for a video.Jumplion wrote:This song is also stuck in my head for whatever reason. Nice beat to it.

Right now I'm struggling to get past keeping Little Man Tate on repeat. My emusic downloads have just refreshed so hopefully I'll find something to replace them but I'm not betting on it.
Re: Music.
I remember what song I was listening to on repeat when I first read through the archives.
Video killed the Radio Star, The Buggles.
Now the song has some significance to the comic. Everytime I hear it I have to check the website.

"Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley is always running through my head. Kinda ironic i guess.
Re: Music.
Most of the songs I listen to come from movie/show/game soundtracks... I spend a lot of time on OCRemix.org.
But recently I've been listening to Nothing Else Matters from Metallica's S&M concert. A friend sent it to me, and it's a good song, so I've had it on repeat for a few days now....

I prefer alot of early 90's Punk-Rock and Grunge. I love the styles of both. It'd be great if someone would merge both to form.. Punge-Grock. Wait.. whoa.. I might do that! :O
Re: Music.
Well, in theory grunge music was derived from alternative punk and hardcore punk styles and extrapolated into its own genre, wasn't it? So following that theory, perhaps such a merging could just be simply called Grunge-Rock? But at the same time Punge-Grock sounds funnier and awesome U:Slippy wrote:I prefer alot of early 90's Punk-Rock and Grunge. I love the styles of both. Re: Music.
I always thought Grunge just popped out of no where. If I am right, it was formed in Seattle. And the whole 90's punk-rock scene was in mainly California, along with a few other places. So with that being said, I don't think Grunge formed off of Punk. You may be right though, and it may be something I have to look into. I mean, look at the progression and the message. Punk-Rock is very fast and uplifting. While they sing usually about "Anarchy" and "Non-Conformity". While with Grunge, its usually a slower tempo, and they're singing about something depressing. Like I said, I dunno though. Its something I might have to look into. xPEbly wrote:Well, in theory grunge music was derived from alternative punk and hardcore punk styles and extrapolated into its own genre, wasn't it? Re: Music.
Well in a sense though, Grunge was about non-conformity and kind of proving to people that other people were out there, they lived, and no matter what people said or thought or believed there are horrible people and horrible things and it was in a sense glorifying of such. Wasn't it? Anyway. Punk I always thought was, as you said, pretty much about anarchy, non-conformity, and basically saying "hey, you may think we're I'm a loaf of bread with no raisins but that don't change the fact we're here", and in a way that's what Grunge was about too. Most of the sources that I have looked into claim Grunge was (very basically) a depressing extension of punk that grew into its own distinct genre (hence not really being considered a sub-genre of punk) with continuing extrapolation and interpretation by other artists. I don't agree entirely, but it's good to include someone else's opinion right. Ahaha, anyway. I don't think of it as an extension of punk so much as I think it was simply influenced by the punk attitude very greatly in its early days, but to be completely honest I don't have the greatest knowledge of Punk, Rock, and Grunge genres. I'm actually better suited to talk about Metal and the many, many Electronic genres. I also have a tiny bit of knowledge about hip-hop genres from some of my friends and while i know nothing about pop scene myself, I have plenty of friends who are very up to date so I can ask them. If I ever cared, that is. Ahahaha.Slippy wrote:I always thought Grunge just popped out of no where. If I am right, it was formed in Seattle. Re: Music.
Alright after a discussion with Ebly, I've been convinced to post links to some DeVotchKa songs
How It Ends: A great piece IMO that I love to picture to the ends of any sad story I make up.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYX6L3HDT2o
The Enemy Guns: An awesome piece with a sweet whistle to it that brings up stories of Cowboys and Bandits in my mind.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lut81f4iI0w
This Place is Haunted: A nice calm song with a sad sound to it which makes a sad story.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B__P5e5TFEg
The Clockwise Witness: Probably my favorite of these songs, just because it sounds so nice and I love the Violin in it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvpJdVhT ... re=related
Okay Enjoy I guess. I can listen to these songs all day.
