Is the pizza you can get in Sweden more like Italian or American pizza? Or something different entirely?Tiggy wrote:While you're at it, you could just drive over the atlantic and try some swedish pizzerias!Sleet wrote:Well that's just a darn shame. Well I don't really know all that much about American OR italian pizza, so I can't really say!
I'll look it up, and come with an edit/response. x3
EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pizza#In_Sweden <-- does that help?

Re: Food!
Sounds more similar to Italian, but considering culture is America's best (and practically only) export, I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find American pizza there somewhere.

I think we have a place called "American pizza!" in a town close to mine, but, Idk. Never been there. xP

Re: Food!
That's pretty much true. Even here we don't exclusively eat "American" food. The healthy stuff we eat in America is generally pretty culturally neutral. *giggles*

I personally HATE maple syrup. Because it's too sweet.

With bad introduction!
As time in HP! forum goes along, we have discussed about Foods quite frequently.
But we haven't got any topic where we can actually have conversation about food "officially". So here it is! The FOOD TOPIC #Nom nOm noM
This is where we can talk about all kind of food related discussion; you can share your own recipe, food for a thought... I mean thought for a food, secret formula, ways how you order in McDonalds, ketchup or mustard... etc also feel free to talk about national foods.
Follow the rules and don't be offensive against food that you don't like.
I'll start with...
What’s your sandvich recipe?
I put bacon, cheese, ketcup, lettuce, butter, and egg between white bread.

Some deli turkey, lettuce, mayonnaise spread on both slices of bread, and you have one good sandwich.

Now I kind of want to go eat a sandvich D:
I either butter my toasts and eat them or if I don't want to toast it, I just put peanut butter on it.
I'm so boring :I
I love bagels! They're better than sandwiches in my opinion. Cream cheese on toasted sliced blueberry bagel!

Personally, my sandwiches are always tuna melts. tuna+relish+mayo+smoked paprika+ cheddar cheese make for one fantastic toasted sammich.
on a topic unrelated to sandwiches, but to food in general, Onion eggs are simply the best thing ever.

My diet is comprised largely of sandwiches. I'm a fan of grilled pimento cheese, actually. I was introduced to the recipe while doing an internship.

Plain peanut butter sandwich or with Nutella. Whole grain bread and peanut butter has to have one ingredient...peanuts (salt optional).
Heh. Look at that... I started an actual Housepets! fan-fic.

1. Throw some pepperoni slices on the pan
2. Flip the pepperonis once they begin to sizzle.
3. Drop some mixed eggs over them (enjoy the crackling)
4. Once the eggs are cooked, place them between two slices of toasted and buttered torta bread.
Enjoy!

The best sandwich for breakfast for me is either ham and cheese, or fried egg and liver mush.

Roast beef, cheddar, mustard, lettuce and tomato. Lightly toast the whole grain bread. Mmm... good and tasty sandwich.
But the best food ever, is a rare and fresh tuna steak. My mouth waters just thinking about it.

Six-inch slice of French bread, halved, toasted
Three slices deli turkey or chicken
One slice each pepperoni, capicollo, salami
Lettuce, shredded
Three thin tomato slices
Sliced red bell pepper (fresh, not canned)
Shaved onion
Banana pepper rings
Basil pesto and mayo mixed 1:1, spread on one or both sides
It doesn't get much better than that...

Re: The Food Topic #Nom nOm noM
I usually make my sandwich thusly:
Two pieces of rye, lightly buttered,
A spoonful or two of minced egg spread over one piece (sometimes curried egg),
Lettuce on the egg,
Then bean sprouts, carrot, tomato beetroot, cheese in that order (end items absorb the juices from tomato and beetroot so the bread doesn't get soggy),
Then some red onion and sometimes some turkey or chicken.
I like beans so I'm thinking of getting some four bean mix next time I go shopping and try making a bean spread, anyone know if it'll work?

Bean spread on a sandwich? Hmm. If I can find it, I have a killer bean dip/spread recipe you might like. It has a Tex-Mex type flavor, though, so it might not be perfect on just any sort of sandwich. But on a turkey panini with some avocado slices and chipotle mayo... good stuff.
So maybe it'll work; maybe it won't. Only way to know is try!
Searching for that recipe,

Re: The Food Topic #Nom nOm noM
Cool, thanks! Actually I was thinking of putting it with some chicken, sour cream, avocado, salsa and cheese and try a mexican sandwich (I work at a mexican restaurant so I could even get some proper fajita meat or something). But yeah, I haven't really been adventurous with food combos since I was like 15 when I was bored and tried making some new and exciting things to go in my lunch box. Every single one of them tasted awful.

I'm in the same ballpark as Penwrite; simpler sandwiches tend to go better for me. My all-time favorite would be salami and cheese (usually american or cheddar will suffice) on wheat or rye bread. But as we don't get cold-cuts often anymore, the sandwich I end up eating most often is peanut butter and fluff (which is basically just a marshmallow spread) on white bread.
For cold-cut sandwiches I've also semi-recently (as in, the last few years or so) become a fan of adding lettuce and mayonnaise to the normal meat/cheese combo.
Also, grilled cheese is ridiculously good. I could eat that stuff endlessly; it's just so delicious. X3

What is a Sandwich? A piece of bread slapped upon another with something in-between? But this joke is stupid, so let's have at it!
I like a lot of different types of sandwiches... So usually I just make one out of whatever I feel like that day. Tough I often like to make sandwiches with mayo, swiss cheese, and mustard with whatever type of meat I have.

Sandwiches are simply the best form of food, ever. Such a simple idea yet so many possibilities. Most of these ideas I think would be quite delicious. Others... less so but to each their own.
So this food topic has become a sandvich topic. Let's change it up a bit. What is your favorite pizza?

Mushrooms!!!
Meats are usually good too, but I'm not big on most vegetables >_>
My sister likes white sauce with chicken or spinach, which is good, but not as good as pepperoni-mushroom

My favorite pizza would have to be a pizza with vegetables on it.
It has no sauce and some extra cheese sprinkled on halfway through the oven.
Good eating.
