Whats Donnie Darko? I never heard of it. Still, I have other movies I have to watch, I got Dr. Strangelove off the list recently, now onto 2001 a Space Odyssey, than to Citizen Kane.

It's pretty much the greatest moviefilm ever created.

But the good parts would either spoil the story or not be forum appropriate.

Go watch it
watch it twice
I think in Non-sequiturs

You know what movie disappointed me about the ending, Watchmen. Here is the thing, in the comic it ends with a GIANT SQUID ATTACK! In the movie Doctor Manhattan becomes the enemy, what a load of crap.

Yes, watch it twice.

I watched it once with a couple friends from college. I watched it as intently as I could muster, and by the end I was scratching my head so hard I think I may have chipped my skull a bit. O____o I still have absolutely no freakin' clue what it was supposed to be about, and I'd like to rewatch it, but I don't own a copy myself. Ugh.

I brought my copy of it home with me for break
so I should finally be able to find time to watch it.

I was really confused when I listened to Gary Jules's rendition of Mad World and people were all like "Oh, Donnie Darko. Donny Darko!" But, I've never heard a bad review of the film, never seen it myself either.

Recently watched 28 Weeks Later, fairly disappointed. Semi-sequitur The Muppets was hilarious!

Alright!

Michigan, Michigan... hmm... that's only like a 12 hour drive. Pff. Totally doable. I'll see you in the morning! :p

I quite liked 28 Days Later. Nothing spectacular, but then, there really aren't many zombie flicks I'd consider "spectacular".

Zombie movies are by definition spectacular.
Night/day/dawn of the dead are all amazing, Zombieland was great, Boy eats girl is a great cheesy zombie movie out of Scotland(I think it was scotland).

But the absolute greatest zombie movie ever is return of the living dead.

Sorry to gush, but I'm kind of a zombie movie fanatic.

I could see how 28 Days Later is overrated, but its just one of them that I like and the sequel died like many other basic zombie flicks (get it, died?) in my opinion.

Hey, alright if I drive up to Michigan? I'll bring snacks!

Oh, don't worry! I made a special fursuit for both of you (I made two models, just for this occasion; in case you happened to be living with a friend who wouldn't have one already), so they won't feel left out, awkward, or absolutely freaked-the-hell-out. :D

(Okay I lied. I don't have even have a fursuit for myself. Or the -money- for one. Yeesh.)

How about a cat? Does she like cats? Orrrr, uh-- cake! Everybody likes cake. Or is she more of a pie person? I'm not much for pie myself, but I could totally bake one up for this momentous occasion! Okay, so I can't bake pie... but I'm sure there are stores that sell them on the way!

I could also bring goldfish, the crackers not the animal, though I guess I could get one of those too... I hear fish do alright in cars. Maybe a parakeet or two and a... a lizard or baby alligator to balance out the group? I dunno. I'll figure something out.

I have no plan to survive a zombie attack, you see, I'm going to find a town. And in that town I will live, I will stand guard over it with a rifle, I will cut any threats down, I will not run. I don't see the point to surviving if I can't protect the people trying to survive.

I got pizza and popcorn and chicken and doritos and, etc. KJ you may want to keep the cat and lizard away from the fish. They get hungry on long car rides.

It'd be really funny to plague Seth in furry suits, but my best would just be a HUNK cosplay since I never made a mascot/furry costume....and probably never will, honestly.

Thinking of a zombie attack, though, I live in Texas. It'd be safer to stay inside and let everyone else shoot the zombies.

I don't think that in a zombie attack that my life is worth more than anyone else's, it does have worth, but I'm willing to give it up if it is for the greater good. and people say I should join the military, I have rules people.
1. Pick no sides
2. Do not kill unless absolutely necessary
3. Accept others
4. Don't hide your true self (I really have a hard time following this one)
5. Help those who need it

2.Never tell me the odds
3.DO NOT sit next to Denis
4. I'm down for anything as long as it's either fun or makes for a good story
5. Never speak ill of Billy Corgan

I'm watching the scene in Donnie Darko where Donnie throws a kegger, and Love will tear us apart by Joy division is playing in the background. I never realized this before. This is pretty much the greatest day ever..........

The way I see it though is that in the case of something like a zombie apocalypse, normal rules don't necessarily apply. Certainly not in all situations. Once the bombshell is dropped, so to speak, things are going to get chaotic. Some people will panic. You've got to beware fleeing civilians: if you get in their way, you, they, or both could end up grounded in a highly unsafe area and become just another body for the undead army. Suppose these panicking types have weapons? You come running around a corner, they freak out, fire blindly and get you, themselves, and others killed. Either by bullet wounds or slowing you down to the point the zombies can catch you.

Other people will go, "Eff yeah!", head to the nearest gun store, buy everything they can and play by standard FPS rules, where everyone else is an enemy. They may not hesitate to put a round through your skull if they get a chance. Many of them have had rough pasts (or are just incredibly nice person) and see this as their chance to break all the rules without consequence.

And what's more, you have to take into account who will be a good thing for your group and who will be detrimental. When it's all about survival, you can't always judge by who's a "good" person. You have to take into account who may slow down your group as a whole and potentially get you all killed. The ultimate goal in this scenario is making sure that, when all is said and done, re-population is a possible and probable next move.

Rules for life:
1. Survive
2. Don't be stupid
3. Maintain humanity/care for people/be good natured.
4. Leave judgement to higher powers, but never back down.
5. Don't ever forget what you've learned

Again, though, for apocalyptic type situations I'm more likely the guy to stay in his house as long as he can, fight off any hostile that comes knocking (human or otherwise), and only move when forced to do so. Don't know if I'd survive, but I'd have at least made peace by then so long as it isn't Tuesday. That's grocery day.

In addition to standard 'zombie plan' fare, I've decided that I'll commit two poems to memory, so that they'll survive the end of civilization: Invictus and The Jabberwocky.

Invictus because is monumentally inspiring, and The Jabberwocky because it is lighthearted and silly. Ya need both if you want stay sane. =3

Relevant? Sorta. And that's good enough for me. x3

Ha, the Fahrenheit 451 idea? I'm ashamed to say my memory isn't that good, but I'd carry three books with me; Grimm Fairytales, Lewis Carol's complete works, and the Bible. All three good reads, all three very interesting. Maybe I'd stuff Slaughterhouse V and Paradise Lost in for good measure. Not like they weigh too much.
