I remember seeing, some time ago, Luna would have an episode just for her in this season. But'll be probably like the 1st season. She appears, then she's not even mentioned later on.

well, how much can you do with her, really? i hope that she gets that episode and then would be mentioned a few times. kinda like how princess celestia is mentioned.

I'd love if she had a decent role this time. Possibly as the abused little sister the fandom likes making her.

Is Discord confirmed to be a pony? Because I would like for him to be a dragon due this theory i posted in ponychan (with my typos fixed):
I would love to see Discord as Spike's father/mother (I don't know what gender this new villain has).
Spike tries to reason with his friends and tell them not to destroy his father/mother and they promise Spike they'll try purify him/her with the Elements of Harmony. But Discord overheard the plan and decids to use his/her son to his/her benefit by faking being killed by the rainbow of the elements. Spike becomes furious and feeling betrayed because his friends have promised him that they would just purify his mother/father and not kill him/her.
Spike then gains some of the power from Discord and fight the ponies enraged until Discord's plan is discovered.

While I prefer Spike having a decent role in the story.
But I'm pretty sure what Discord is the force who possessed Luna and she'll be the one to stop Discord. Discord has a 55% chance of beinga pony, 44% chance being a supernatural force and 1% something else.
Also not forgetting that 73.6% of all statistics are lies.

This is very long and I'd prefer not to read through it if I don't have to, but that fan fiction is forum-appropriate, right? No swearing, graphic violence or sex?

There's a bit of violence, but nothing too graphic. 13 chapters in and I haven't seen anyone die yet. In fact, most of the fic so far could easily be episodes of the show.

Oh of course, I understand completely. The name of the fic comes from the story. In it an evil group tries to resurrect Nightmare Moon as a fully separate entity from Luna, but the ritual gets interrupted and the only result of it is a little black alicorn filly that possesses all of Nightmare Moon's magic and a few of her memories. Twilight takes the filly in and cares for her, pretty much becoming the filly's mother.

The whole thing if the story is, is the filly really the evil Nightmare Moon reborn and will eventually become evil, or is she a truly separate being not guilty of her past incarnations sins? Hence the name.
