What do YOU think fiddler and key's gender's are?
I made a poll to see what the community thinks.
We already know they are opposite-gendered. (1. they are dating eachother 2. rick said so, you can ask him yourself, or he could verify it again by posting so in this thread :p)
I think that fiddler is female and keys male. Post what you think! And don't forget to vote!

huh, may as well say why...I chose Fiddler to be female simply 'cause of this and the fact I'm mildly sexist in the 'who talks most in a realationship' thing...

Purely out of whimsy, Fiddler is female and Keys is male. I don't think it's possible to say decisively based on previous comic appearances.

Yeah, even though that bears no absolute certainty this strip makes me believe Keys's male in order to serve as an inversion of the old gender stereotype men have to be "strong" (read: hide any emotion).

I still believe that Fiddlers is male. I don't know why, though.

To be honest I have no idea. I haven't seen anything obviously masculine or feminine from either of them.

I don't think dating is any reason for them to be opposite genders. :P
...but yeah Rick said so.

I was going to make a joke but then I did.
Re: What do YOU think fiddler and key's genders are?
As far as I know, Rick said that there will be no "HoYay" boarding this ship. So having that fact, and the fact that they're dating, it can be concluded that they're opposite gendersEbly wrote:I don't think dating is any reason for them to be opposite genders.

Re: What do YOU think fiddler and key's genders are?
I think Keys is female because her pose is seemingly girl in my opinion: https://www.housepetscomic.com/2008/12/ ... he-ritz-2/
And I think fiddler is male because of the way he is acting and his face here: https://www.housepetscomic.com/2009/03/ ... cat-again/
Then again, when they're in the restaurant, Fiddler seems female and Keys seems male, so I might be wrong.

Re: What do YOU think fiddler and key's genders are?
I thought Fiddler was male and Keys female, if only because I always imagined a keyboard as somewhat more feminine of an instrument than a fiddle. Not exactly scientific thinking there, though!

Re: What do YOU think fiddler and key's genders are?
Keys seems to be male, if not only because of the valentine card.
That would make Fiddler female, with no recent drawings or evidence to support that claim.
Or they could both be guys. Who knows?

Re: What do YOU think fiddler and key's genders are?
Thanks for the links everyone, also https://www.housepetscomic.com/2009/03/ ... cat-again/ seems to point to them both being male as even if Fiddler was a girl and extremely annoyed I doubt that he would look like that, (body language, idk)
Re: What do YOU think fiddler and key's genders are?
Maybe Rick is having both of them fulfill stereotypical gender-roles so as to not give any hints as to either's gender. He might be doing this on purpose, just as a gimmick. Or maybe I'm just a conspiracy nut.

Re: What do YOU think fiddler and key's genders are?
The same-sex position is untenable because both ReCreate and Ebly have already declared that Rick indicated Fiddler and Keys are a male-and-female couple.
Since two statements to that effect seem not to be enough, I will verify that Rick has also said as much to me on at least one occasion.

Re: What do YOU think fiddler and key's genders are?
To me they both look like boys. I really couldn't imagine either of them being girls. Or maybe it's just the complete lack of gender specification that would simply lead me to see tham as males. By the way, somehow I never realized that the two of them were in any other strips besides the new years one.

Re: What do YOU think fiddler and key's genders are?
I'm going to go for Fiddler being male and Keys being female. And that has nothing to do with a previous fan fic I might or might not have written that might or might not deal with these two characters coughcough.
DOH HO HO WELL THEN
Re: What do YOU think fiddler and key's genders are?
From the first time I saw them I assumed Fiddler was female and Keys was male.
One thing is the scarf. A scarf is a man's accessory. Waving behind him in the clear night air as he stands on the rooftop watching for - I'm getting off-track.
And frankly I thought the "You're standing on my tail, dog" panel looked really feminine. At least I've seen girls look like that before, like when - er, nevermind.
The names, though... Fiddler sounds like a guy's name and Keys sounds like a girl's... so that confuses it a little.

I would have to say, based sort of on a fanart http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae26 ... eowzik.jpg, and also by https://www.housepetscomic.com/2009/08/ ... kill-cafe/ That:
Keys seems like a Male, where as Fiddles as a Female.

To FlintTheSquirrel:
When that fan art was drawn, I had no idea at the time which one was male or female. I had just done it under the pretense that Keys was male and Fiddler was female. Just saying I wouldn't use that picture as evidence, but I really do think Keys is a guy, while Fiddler's a girl.
As for the talkshoe interview...well if that's the case then I am most likely wrong, but I still hold on to my flimsy, lack of proof opinions.

haha, as Mr Griffin has stated, we still haven't a clue on the true genders of these two odd cats! Besides, the votes are rather even and this could go on and on and on until Mr Griffon reveils the true gender of these musical kittys!

Something tells me he keeps it a secret just to mess with us. Personally, I think Keys is Male and Fiddler is female. Alternatively, I re-offer my original theory of them both being guys, but just good friends on a night out. Not a date, necessarily. Don't tell me you haven't gone out to eat with a random friend because you have nothing to do.44R0NM10 wrote:haha, as Mr Griffon has stated, we still haven't a clue on the true genders of these two odd cats!
