A dream. It was the first thing that Celeste thought of; his life with her must've felt like a dream. And her death was the horrible splash into reality-- a twisted version of reality. Celeste was nearly in tears. They managed to get over the species difference, the labels from their relationship, and love each other anyway, then it was ripped away. Almost like when she heard that Grandpa had passed on; the aged look Grandmother wore on her face. Adapting to a life as a widow, after nearly 43 years of being with one person. Knowing that everyday, she would wake up alone, go through her routines alone, eat dinner alone. No wonder she loved it when Celeste came for a visit; her house was so quiet and empty. Celeste chewed her lip, thinking of what to say, as she watched the sun fall, bringing with it Adel's tears. "She sounds like an amazing person. And if she could make you so happy, then that makes her even better," she finally said. "You two were very blessed to be together, meeting on a bus of all places. And I am 100% positive when I say that she knew how blessed you were, and made every moment count."

Ve vere shot a bank robbery. My vound vas not fatal..." He indicated his right arm, just above the elbow, where there was a patch of fur missing and a scar. "...Her vound vas. Celeste glanced at the wound, and wished she hadn't. Not because it was ugly, but because she could imagine the pain of getting it, of watching another animal, or human, shoot him without remorse. "Don't say it like that. It's six months later, and you're one of the strongest people I've ever met."

Achilles flipped through another page on the clipboard as he slowly walked toward the police dog cabin.

The inside of the cabin was alive with activity, dogs of all sizes were chatting like little girls on the first day of school.
One of them looked out the window and quickly turns to the other dogs. "quick! quick! H'es coming!" he shouted back to the others, which, in an instant, stopped and scattered like roaches to their bunks, working on paperwork or laying down on their mats.

As Achilles approached the cabin, he noticed that he hasn't heard a single peep escape the well made wooden premisses, unusual for Achilles.

He slowly opened the front door, a wooden frame with mosquito mesh Covering a large portion.

All of a sudden a large splash was heard, and Achilles was instantly drenched in freezing cold water.
How could he have fell for such a simple trick?
And as soon as it happened, the whole cabin went into a uproar of laughter as Achilles clenched his teeth tight and gripped the clipboard firmly as the clipboard began to bend.

Heart realized she had a tear in her eye and took it off quickly.

-What are you talking about? - Said surprised and a little annoyed.

All this gallantry thing was, for her, useless. The silly rabbit was being very cute, but why?, that made her distrust of him.

"We just found, why do you say that? -

Suddenly she remembered Randy, ironically, she had steeled in the same way the Japanese Spitz.

"I say it because I used to be like you, pretty lady. I had always a reason to be resentful toward the world at large, until I decided that my Lycaon neighbors weren't a bad breed after all. And thanks to them, I came to understand that there is always a door to happiness, if you'll just open it. No one's asking you to be vulnerable; just don't isolate yourself. Us rescuers are here just for that." Again he made a gallant baw, a paw over his chest. "Shall we start with something simple? A drink at the bar?"

"Only if you pay"

Then she smiled mischievously and lovingly pushed the elegant rabbit inside the elevator. Then she went and pressed the appropriate button.

She looked at the rabbit was so adorable, but ... she would be careful this time.

"It's a beautiful view" said as she watched the landscape.

While the rooms had a full view over the ocean, the other side of the hotel was oriented of course toward the jungle and the majestic Blue Peak mountain. The full moon turned its fall in a silvery cascade out of a dream.
"We still haven't had a visitor who wasn't struck by our natural beauties."
The elevator stopped and the door opened. "Guess I'll go first," Donau said, walking out of the cabin.
The bar was but a corridor away. It was crowded, as it was to be expected, but the overall atmosphere was relaxed, and the clients were equally distributed inside the lounge and over the terrace. "Shall we enjoy our poison inside or outside?"
On a bandstand, a lycaon and a cat were playing a soft piece with a flute and a violin, respectively. An ancient ballad of some sort.

-Outside is okay-

While the cat was playing, Heart approached them.

"I wish I had my guitar here, " She told Donau, still seeing the musicians put their soul into their music.

The cat sighed.

"Then what you want drink? -

Celeste, for once, didn't jerk her paw away. She simply smiled and looked back at him. "That means a lot to me, really. I know if Grandmother ever met you two, she'd feel better on the spot." She sighed. "I'm sorry that you lost her. If there's anything I can do for you to help, let me know. Please. I owe for all of this."

The rabbit's ears flicked. "Oh, so you can play? How remarkable, I hope you shall entertain us then. The bandstand is open to anyone who wants to try his or her skills. Tomato Blue will do? It's a local variaton on tomato juice, non-alcoholic."

The room was still laughing, but was quickly dying down as the dalmation confronted the chief.

he let out a breath to calm down, and smiled at her. "What? pfft- no, i'm fine.." he loosened his grip on the clipboard and shrugged.

A golden retriever from the back of the cabin yelled "Avigail hitting on the new chief!" mockingly, before falling back in his bed laughing, causing another uproar of laughter and wolf whistles.

The dalmatian blushed. She put a paw behind her head. "Sorry, boss. It's not that you're not cute, but--" she got interrupted by more whistles. "You know that I am the only female here," Abigail said without turning, her blush reddening, "And that *I* choose to pick my dates, right?"

Then she raised her fist epically
-I'm your girl, sir!! All I need is my guitar, which one is in the room, and a microphone and a few mates to the drums and bass.
She was so excited, so much that she forget a moment of Randy and smiled while was hugging the rabbit. Then she left him.

Donau waved to a finely-dressed waiter. He gave him Heart's room number and asked him to pick up her item. As the man hurried away, the rabbit said to the cat, "No need to register at all. As soon as our current players are done, you may step in. I'm good with percussion, although they regard my kin's native instruments. And our players there will be glad to accompany you if you wish so." He patted the female's shoulder. "I like your enthusiasm, spoken like true artist! I can't wait to play with you!"

"Did someone mention us?" said the labrador, stepping in, holding a big wooden bowl filled with the special local stew. He was using a rough wooden spoon to eat. He was wagging happily. "Dear, you won't have enough of this stuff even if it was on your menu all year round. I heartily suggest you guys to get some until there's any left...although the bottom's always the tastier part."

After a few minutes, the waiter came and handed her precious black electroacoustic guitar to Heart, she took it between her paws and thanked him warmly. When the native pets finished, they stepped off the small stage and then Heart reached them.

"Hey,you play very well, my name is Heart, a pleasure, "she said stretching out her hand to introduce herself.

The friendly rabbit Donau, came with them and joined the conversation quickly.

The friendly rabbit Donau, came with them and joined the conversation quickly.
"Name's Cibele, and thank you" said the cat, a female Cuban Blue. She pointed at her playing mate. The male lycaon bowed deeply and showed a polite smile. "He's Teddy. He's born mute, so I do the speaking for him, while he writes the music for us. We live in the Dartmoor village as a couple," she added as if it was the most natural thing in the world. In fact, Cibele wasn't wearing any collar. "I see that Donau found a new damsel in distress, eh?" she then grinned at the rabbit.
The rabbit held out a paw defensively. "Just sheer luck, my dear. Now, Miss Heart would like to have you join her in a small concert for our audience. What would you make of it?"
Teddy looked at the cat and shrugged, gesturing he had no problems with that.
Cibele nodded. "Why not? I see the light of enthusiasm in your eyes, Heart. I like it. Do you have any proposal, or would you accompany us for a piece or two to get the rhythm?"

Tha Housedog wrote:"May we get some, please?" Adel asked.
Ulysses pointed at the lycaons by the big fire. "Just go and ask. oh, and don't forget to ask for their tuna steaks too!"

Abigail knocked at Achilles' quarters' door. She hoped that by now her boss wouldn't be too mad. "Hi...may I in, boss?"

The male lycaon stirring the big pot filled and handed a large servings to Adel. "There, dear visitors! This stew is made with pieces of goat meat. The small pieces, containing fat, are used to thicken the broth, together with dehydrated coconut and bananas to sweeten the dish. The bigger pieces have been marinaded for three days until they are very spicy. The dense broth serves to tenderize them one last time and sweeten the spice yet leaving a pleasant and hot aftertaste. Chunks of potatoes are the last ingredient. Enjoy."
The female working at the other bonfire put the biggest tuna steak straight from the fire, stills steaming. She dressed it with minced herbs then added a dressing of banana and coconut slices. "here, dear. You look like you need something tasteful to cheer you up!"
