Mitch sighed.

"Well, I guess I can-*," Mitch stopped as he looked up at Valiant.

He showed that ferocious grin again.

That is creepy. Maybe he is being genu-... Well, only one way to find out.

Okay, let's ask him then. Mitch thought, and then regained his composure.

"So, uh, any birds fly the coop today?" Mitch asked him rather vaguely on purpose.

"Oh mom one of my other freinds walked off to find his house do you think we can pick him up he shouldn't have gotten that far away. He went that way I think." He said pointing out the path of Archimedes paw prints in the snow.

At Lance's question, Valiant's ears drooped a bit as he said, "You folks go first. I think I'll be sharing some pizza with this new friend. We'll meet later, OK?"

"Ahh, no, no," Mitch said, pleased at Valiant's response.

"You wouldn't be a good host if you didn't," Mitch said, nudging him with his elbow, "And it's a New Years party, those are really important. At least, to us anyways. And, besides, I got Eve here to keep me company. You really don't know what to answer to that?"

Valiant put his paw inside the cage to pet Mitch's arm.
"When I lost my arm, and my job, I felt desperately lonely. I had been wounded deeply, and Rikki was the greatest help I could have. She sacrificed her career to stay with me, and I was, well...a handful.
"I'm not making this offer out of pity, my friend. I'd really like to share a pizza and watch the Eve's fireworks with you." He shrugged. "That is, if your carnet has a slot for this ol' cop, of course."

Ying started closing any computer he didn't need down and set the cameras to run while the computer is off patching through to Shamrock saying "Heya Shamrock, I don't know exactly who to call but I just needed to tell somebody that I am coming to the party I'm logging everything off now see you there." he then closed down his last computer and set out to whoever's house it was.

Shamrock flipped his phone open and replied "Alright Ying, we're at Valiant's house! You know where Lance's house is? Well, it's the one right next to it, just smell for all the food, you'll find it eventually, there should also be some flashing lights in the backyard! I'll see you soon!"

Mitch looked at him in the eyes.

"Yes, yes, I know that," he said to Valiant, "But, if you knew our culture, witch, hopefully I'll be able to share with you sometime. But, occording to it, it's very, very, very bad luck keeping a host from his duties. It's not that I don't have a slot for you, it's that I have a different belief of what's important. I think, I'm sure, no, I believe. I believe I'm going to be fine. You go on." He made a shooing motion with his hands. Mitch then took a deep breath and sighed. Then a thought came to him.

"Besides, I'm sure your mate would be terribly dissapointed if you didn't show," he added.

Valiant sighed as he stood up."If that's you will, that's OK. I hope to meet you ASAP, Mitch. Please, try to keep your hope up."
The Italian Wolf jumped out the vehicle and ran toward home. He wasn't kidding, before, he HATED to leave an animal in need unguarded, alone in an unknown territory.
But he was also sorely missing Darien, he needed him a lot, now.

"Ok got ya mate, be there very soon." he then turned off the collarphone and kept walking down the street letting his nose guide him to Val's house. He finally arrived and walked into the backyard and said "Hey. You still getting everything set up? Could I help with anything?"

"Well, if you can help me with these..." said Maria, working on an assortment of fireworks. She was shaking her head. "Dear, I thought that by now Eris would be here, Val told me about her passion for them... Anyway, Ying, please, see that table?" this time she indicated the piece of furniture on which lay other fireworks, arranged in neat small stacks. "Each pet must have an assortment, so help me set the stacks. In case of problems, don't worry, Elio..." she pointed at the man, who was holding a fire extinguisher and a big smile, will make sure no one gets hurt. He worked in the Job Safety Department, back at the Ministry. For once, he'll be useful."
The man's face fell.

"We surely hope so," said Valiant, coming in. He was panting, thick clouds coming from his mouth. "Sorry for being late."
Elio, still holding the fire extinguisher, clicked his tongue. "Son, you look like you need a couple of hours of rest, if you're going to make it through the night."
The Italian wolf nodded. "Ah, well..." he yawned loudly. "I guess you're right, Dad. This was a really intense day." He went for the door. "Ying, Sham, if you see Darien tell him I'm gonna have a shower and then hit the sack. You guys start having fun if you want; I'm pretty sure you all won't be able to exhaust Mamma's food."

Shamrock nodded "Sure thing... oh, and Valiant... if you see a towel hanging on the shower, that was mine, you mom let me take a shower just so I didn't smell like delicious turkey." "Oh, believe me! Us southern Italians *do* know how to celebrate with fireworks... in fact, some of us tend to take that definition way too literally, too often. But rest assured, they're all pet safe, and the powder smell can be washed away with just water and soap. We surely don't want to start the new year running from a lynching mob of worried parents." She chuckled. Say, i can't help but notice that many of you boys still are looking with interest at Val and Dari. You're not planning some scheme to lay your paws on them?" After Eris got into the back of the Van it took off and Jenny looked out the windows of the Van keeping an eye out for the other dog that Lance told her about. As she drove down the street for a bit she spotted him with another dog as they walked she pulled up along side the two and honked her horn rolling down the window. "Hey you two my names Jenny I'm Lances mom you two want a lift?" She said as Lance opened the back door of the Van and peeked out. "Hey Archimedes, Hey Dakotah hop on in." He said as the Van rolled to a stop.

(OOC: Sorry about that Ctc but I had to get stuff moving a bit.)

"That good to hear Sham." Ying replied still focusing on the pile of fireworks coming to the end of it. "Glad to hear it's all pet friendlt Mrs. Leone" Ying said with a smile and then said "Me nononono, I've got a long distance going on. And if there was a scheme everybody would have known about it if I was involved" Ying laughed and finished off the task at paw.

It was pretty quiet there in the snow, except for a van approaching. At first, the white dog had just continued to lay there, but when it stopped he looked up to see just what was going on. At first he thought it was the animal shelter, it seemed like their type of van. It also wouldn't be beyond Mr. Dresner to worry and call in something besides a one man search.

And then Lance popped out. Weird things happened what happened outside animal shelters. "Ok, but I have no idea where my house is and I'm not entirely sure of the address" Archimedes said as he stood, shook the snow off and jumped up into the van.

"My dad might" Archimedes said,"he just adopted me out of a shelter last week." There was a chance in it afterall, at least, he figured there was.

"Gah!" Archimedes said, not at all used to this sort of thing. Most pets were social and fairly in touch with their emotions, but he might as well have been an android. "I have to ask him yet!"

"Kinda crazy actually," Mitch said, "I think what happened is the plane that I was in this morning hit some turbulance and the cargo bay doors opened. Shoof, out I went along with some luggage, and down into a stream nearby we went. After losing that to the water, I followed the stream, and came up to the park, and, well, here I am. I was sure I was gone for."

And yet, I still think I am...

Dakotah started thinking about what Archimedes said... he did know his way home, right? Though, the way he said it seemed like he didn't, "Well-" Dakotah started but stopped when he recognized a van that was about to pass by. The van slowly stopped and he recognized the lady who rolled down the window, it was Lance's mom. "Yeah, that'd be cool." Dakotah said as he walked up to back door that Lance opened. He jumped in and looked for an open seat. He did find an empty seat and sat down and buckled himself up in the seatbelt. "Heh, well thanks for the ride Lance's mom." He didn't really find it polite to say her name. "So, what's up guys?" He said with a little wave to all the pets in the car, even one he never seen.

Grey asked, readying himself to pull the phone away from his ear "Well, it depends where you are...where are you, anyway?" Buaigh asked, knowing he'll regret asking. "A town called....Sunset Plateau..." Grey said, starting to move the cellphone slowly away from his ear and as the phone was at arms length from his ear, Grey heard a loud, angry shout from the phone. Grey put the phone back to his ear and said "I know, Buaigh...but we've been waiting for a while now, haven't we...?" Grey waited for some kind of answer, yet he soon found out that the call had been ended "I'll take that as a yes..." Grey thought to himself, putting the phone back down on the small table. Grey turned back to Saphia and saw she was staring out the window, Grey decided to let her stay lost amongst her thoughts, before they had to work again.

Kneading his paws as a way of trying to do something, Mitch almost couldn't take it. Quickly he walked up to Kurt.

"C-c-c-c-c-c-c-c-c-aan w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-we s-s-s-s-switch s-s-s-seats, p-p-p-p-p-p-p-please?" Mitch asked with teeth chattering in a quiet voice.

"Its-s-s-s j-j-j-j-j-j-just g-g-g-g-g-gettting a liiiiiiiitle c-c-c-c-crowded f-f-f-f-f-for m-m-m-me," he said.

Jenny looked back at Mitch "Don't worry sweetie we are coming up on my House we can switch there." She said as she looked over at Kurt. "So what street do you live on sweetie?" She asked the cat.

"Yeah Mitch don't worry no ones going to hurt you back here your fine." Lance said trying to calm the Panda down

(OOC: Also there is a wall with a small window like slot in it separating the back from the front of the Van you can talk though it but there is no way to switch on the fly)

When the van turned to the right, Kurt looked behind him, when he was ready to answer to Mitch, he saw to Lance.... When he saw his eyes, he immediately blushed and turned away, not without saying "Lance" by accident.

He doesn't not want this to be wrong, but how not to do? He looked straight ahead and afraid to look away, He kept looking.

-And how is our "home"? - Eve said to Archi glomping to him.

Valiant entered home. "Hi there everyone... Whammola, Rikki!" He whistled at the sight of his friend. "You're SO going to win a certain mink's heart, tonight."
The ferret blushed. "Ah, you always know how to talk to a girl, boss... Go get a shower, casanova. You smell unworthy of your very first NYE party!"
The Italian Wolf saluted sharply. "Aye aye, sir! Should Darien come in, in the meantime, he knows where to find me." And he ran upstairs.

"At the moment, its probably something like a well organized disaster zone" Archimedes answered, "we just moved here today and when I last saw my dad, he was moving things in very quickly."

At least you think so...

"W-W-W-W-Well, I m-m-m-may n-n-n-n-not k-k-k-k-know th-th-th-that," Mitch began,leaning up to the window, "I d-d-d-d-don't k-k-k-k-know an-an-an-an-anyone h-h-h-h-here except K-K-Kurt, Ev-v-v-ve, and Eris. And-d-d-d-d, it's n-n-n-n-not j-j-j-just that either." Mitch looked up at him.

"I'm, w-w-w-w-well, uh, uh, shy, sort of," Mitch said, "And n-n-n-not j-j-just, Red Panda sh-sh-sh-shy either." He hugged himself and tried to see if he could climb through the window.

And why should I learn their names? It's all going to be over and I'll never see them again once we get to the office or whatever anyways. Sigh.

(ooc: also, correct me if I'm wrong. But I'm pretty sure Eris was alrerady home to begin with. Wasn't she standing on her own roof? Or are they taking people to Valiant's as well?)
