I've been listening to a lot of Yngwie Malmsteen and Avenged Sevenfold lately. Here are a couple of songs that I really love:

I've never really heard of Yngwie Malmsteen, and I have absolutely no idea how to pronounce that name. Still, that fire and ice song was awesome! Really loved it!
The seventh sign's intro reminds me of classical music by Mozart or Beethoven. Really loved that song as well though!

Ingvay Mawlmsteen, I believe.

He's pretty awesome. He goes overboard a bit, but that doesn't mean his music can't still be really neat. And yes, he does have a bit of a classical sound.

Yeah, it's ironic that, despite being one of the greatest guitar virtuosos ever, he's not that well known. Shame, really.
I believe his name is pronounced Ing-wee Mawlmsteem. "Ing", like, at the end of verbs (doING, cookING, playING).

I would hazard to say that when it comes to raw talent alone, he's possibly the best rock guitarist to ever live. I'd say there are guitarists that are "better", but it's things like emotion and creativity that do that. Not pure technical skill.

Have some Scar Symmetry. I swear, to me, it sounds like these guys switch back and forth between genres in a single song. It's awesome.

Also, have some Skrillex.

Every song of "Weird Al" Yankovic.
And, recently, Nyan Cat.

I wonder if you like this song, cause this is very good Polish song. It name in English will be "Less than zero", but I think better will suit "Less than nothing" ;)

It is now official: Dream Theater's new drummer will be Mike Mangini (who was the previous unconfirmed leak).

He's pretty awesome; I'm excited for the next album.

I love a good New Wave track. I need to make it a point to check out the album this song is from.

Funny enough, Polish New Wave is a topic I know exactly one other thing about, so I am slightly capable of bouncing off this post!

Certainly is a strange mix. Gotta say, I'm surprised, but I actually kinda liked it. Anyway, that's the first music video to make me feel sick and laugh at the same time.

I have two pages of Nyan Cat open at once, but I lucked out and they're offset just enough to form a perfect symphony.
I believe this is one of the more surreal experiences possible when dealing with flying rainbow powered pixel art cats made of toast possible.

Nope, the nyan.cat page, the one that tracks your seconds, uses a different design with a piece of buttered toast.

Well, the music is the same regardless. One has a longer loop though, so they lapse in and out of sync (I have the original and toast open).

i agree.

but in all honesty, i hope she keeps making ridiculous songs.
The first time I heard the song, I assumed it was silly on purpose. I mean, it would work as a very good satire of everything that's wrong with the pop music mindset nowadays, but the fact that the writers weren't satirists actually makes it work better in that respect.
