Dusk grabbed his own glass, raising it with the others. "To a happy future, and to your new homes!" he toasted, tipping his glass towards Apollo, Artemis, and Phi.

"Us?!" Dusk squeaked, at least as much as he could squeak while simultaneously swallowing his bite. He coughed a few times pounding his chest, before he could talk again. "Now hold on a minute, it's one thing I model for your photos Phi..."

"Uhm, I... I mean we... sort of, you know..." Dusk trailed off, not knowing what to say really. He looked at Phi with what could be best described as puppy dog eyes on a kitty, hoping he would be able to give a better answer.

Apollo facepawlmed, mentally. This dinner was turning more and more a collection of awkward moments... "We-ell, I guess it's perfectly normal, after all we all just met... You know, this makes me remember of a leopard I met at the...What was the name of that casino, sis?"
Artemis' eye sparkled at the memory. "The Grand Lounge, and the kitty's name was Osiris. Oh, he was a competitor for both ladies and boys."
Apollo nodded. "Osiris, yes! He was in the business for two years, and he always hated that Anubis could get more attention than him. Remember what he did to humiliate me in front of everyone?"
The buzzard chuckled. "He switched your agenda with one less...family-oriented. You had to...dance, for a bunch of females during a party..." she was barely holding her laugh.
Apollo's eyes had turned a deep shade of red, but he too was chuckling. "I don't think they had invented a word for how embarrassed I was, but I didn't run away."
"Not especially when you were invited at the table to chat with the guests. I think they still have your number!"

Phi listened to the tale with a raised eyebrow and a lopsided grin. When the two were finally finished, it was a moment before he could think of anything to say. "Heh. Yep, that sounds like Vegas alright." Phi leaned back in the seat, tapping one foot against the chair's leg. "Let's see... well, I don't think I've got anything that could beat that, but give me a second."

Dusk listened to Apollo's story with reddening cheeks, his fork hanging from mouth. Thankfully Phi was able to say something and that gave him the time to swallow, the more he heard about Vegas the more strange that place sounded. "Uhm, wow, I wouldn't have thought you did such things, Apollo..." He scratched his chin as he tried to think of something that could compare to that story. "I must agree with Phi, that story's hard to follow up! Well, I guess there was this one time I lost a bet..."

Aethon's ears perked up as he heard Dusk. He was usually ALWAYS interesting about stories involving losing bets, they were usually very amusing, or interestong. He leaned on Apollo as he listened to the kitties

"Oh... I don't know if you really want to hear it!" Dusk fidgeted nervously in his seat. "I can't even remember what the bet was... It was something silly, but it doesn't really matter. I lost, and what I had to do was, well... You know my owner works at the groomer's, and she took me there with her a lot. I was to run out from the back room without my collar, streaking across the shop, run up to the first pet in my way... hug them..." Dusk paused and swallowed, he was redder then a tomato now. "And then give them a kiss." He buried his muzzle in his paws. "I actually went through with it... As my luck would have it, she was an off duty K-9 officer. As I later found our, the only reason I wasn't arrested and sent to the pound was because she got a laugh out of it once I explained..."

Phi had begun to laugh along with the rest, but he quieted when he saw the look of burning embarrassment etched into Dusk's partially hidden face. Giving Aethon a warning look, he gently patted Dusk on the shoulder. "Ah, don't worry about it. We've all done some pretty stupid things. Even me." He paused, then continued with a sheepish grin. "Ahh... maybe that should be *especially* me..."

Dusk glanced at Aethon. "Yeah..." he was... Trying to shake off the embarrassment he laughed with everyone else. "No Artemis, I didn't get a date, I only did it because of the bet. So...What's this I hear about stupid stuff, Phi? Care to elaborate?" Dusk winked. "Come on, everyone's sharing stories! Don't worry, foxy will get his turn soon enough, too."

"Ah... well." Phi looked around at the others with a faint grin. "I'm not really that great at 'thinking on my feet.' Anything I come up with on the spur of the moment is usually... well... badly thought out. For example, I was at a family reunion with Henry one time, and they had a bonfire next to this big lake. Well, there was a dog... I think his name was Toby or something, his owner is Henry's uncle. Anyway, he was standing a bit too close to the flames, and the tip of his tail caught on fire." Phi scratched at the back of his neck uncomfortably. "I took the 'logical' course of action and... erm... tackled him into the lake. He... wasn't too pleased about that, but everyone else seemed to think it was just about the funniest thing that had happened all night."

Dusk blinked. "Well, that's an effective if a little bit unorthodox method of fire extinguishing... Still, better than having your whole coat burned off!" He chuckled and patted Phi's back. "I don't think it was stupid though. Rash decision? Yes. Funny? Heck, yes! But not stupid." At Apollo's words, he turned his attention to Aethon. "Let's hear a story Aethon! I heard foxes were crafty and tricky, so you should have something interesting to tell..."

Flash lead them all the way to the coyote enclosure, where the coyotes were lying around under what seemed to be a makeshift awning they had constructed from various things within their enclosure. They all seemed to be wearing loincloths and feathered headbands, like some sort of stereotypical native-American tribe. (of course, that was technically what they were) Flash, of course, interrupted their rest by screaming at them rather rudely "Hey pants-wearers, do you have fur under your pants? Because pants make your fur fall out, and you're wearing them!"
Some of the coyotes ignored him, others snickered at the silliness, but a couple of them growled. "Flash?!" one of the called out, "What are you doing here again? Why do they even let you come back here?"
Flash turned to the others and said slyly, "He's just mad 'cause his mate likes me better." he turned back and gave a little wave to one of the others, who gave him a smile and wave back, clearly more attracted to him than her "mate".
The male who was supposed to be her mate growled a bit more, now very annoyed at Flash...

Keith studied around the enclosure. He was actually expecting something more... Modern, but he still showed signs of interest nonetheless.

"Eheheh..." Keith let out an awkward laugh as he scratched his head, seemingly a bit embarrassed. I bet I am already enemy to half of the zoo population, for being Flash's friend alone...

Flash's little display clearly caught Cerea's attention as she observed the triangular exhange. "Hooo, she got her eyes for you alright.", she commented. Quickly, yet silently, she leaned towards Keith, buried her face onto his chest fur ans whispered to her partner, "Must be because that Indian is too possessive.", giggling as she continued cuddling to Keith.

Keith whispered back to Cerea, as he hugged back. "Ah, my dear, it is impolite to generalize people." Meanwhile, he prayed that the coyotes didn't take offense at Cerea's previous comments...

Flash and the coyote both stared back and fourth at each other, Flash grinning, the other growling... In the background though, one called out in a sly tone, "Hey Flash."
Flash looked up, surprised by one of the coyotes, "Ash-Williams?"
Ash was standing in front of a small clearing near the back, into which a few other coyotes were rolling a utility van, which they had somehow miraculously acquired. "Wanna get in a Van?" Ash asked in his sly tone.
Flash's jaw practically went limp with awe and he began to drool with excitement, "AW MAN, DO I EVER!" He pressed himself up against the railing, leaning over and glaring at the van as if getting in it was the most awesome thing in the world...

Dusk flicked his tail back and forth but remained otherwise still, as he waited for the fox's tale. He glanced around at the table, moving only his eyes. This was one of the very few times he wished he had a wristwatch, that way he could make a show out of looking at it. Aethon either had no interesting stories, or he was taking his sweet time.

Phi took a sip from his glass and leaned back in the chair, taking a sidelong glance at Dusk. The evening seemed to have run a rather interesting gamut of emotions; exciting, then equal parts awkward and funny... but now it seemed to have settled on boredom. He helped himself to a bite of the turkey before addressing Aethon. "Anything'll do, really."

Apollo saw the malicious light sparkling in Artemis' eyes, and before she could come up with a joke at the fox's expenses, he said in a vain tone, posing like a girl model, "I'm sure it's because he's dazzled by my physical, intimidating presence. Dear my, I really don't know how can I break them so easily!"
