If you find me an actual "hardcore" "battle" "bleach" type of fighting Furry Anime, I will give you all the dimes in my pocket(This does not include Legendz by the way, or that other one with the blue cat thing... not Doromon)Jumplion wrote:

well, its not a super furry Anime... but basically its a ton of useless animals in a forest, also all of the charters are people in animal suites. the main charter is a VERY VERY shy and timed wolf that cant beat a bunny, but the bunny is a **** bunny that acts more like a wolf, its quite cute. ya know what?... just watch it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QR0XXuRz6FA

I actually like it
Not because it's good
But because it's just intentionally stuffed full of tropes and stereotypes
And oh god their NAMES! It's like, almost every one of them is a bloody bad pun! U:

Ed Edd and Eddy, Power Puff Girls, Catdog, Hey Arnold!, Invader Zim, Angry Beavers, Aaaah, Real Monsters, give or take a few A's, Tom and Jerry, Looney Toons, Samuri Jack, these are cartoons that stick out prominently in my mind and that I love and miss D:
As for animes, I enjoyed Trigun, loved FLCL, vaguely remember loving Outlaw Star, Enjoyed Lupin the 3rd, kinda like Bleach, love Death Note, remember liking Android 009, if that was the name.
Oh, can we list movies pertaining to the above? I remember an Astroboy movie that played on Toonami somewhere between 2004-2007ish? That was really **** from the bits that I saw. Plus the original Astroboy was pretty awesome from what little I;ve seen from Toonami. Astroboy, there you goooo~!
Also, anyone remember Cats Don't Dance? <33.

Fff, you can find it anywhere just as you can pretty much find anything on youtube. I found that weird Japanese movie Paprika on youtube. That was a very strange evening for me.Flamboyant-Pencil wrote:You can actually find it on Youtube. I used to have the VHS, but I lost it over the years ;-;

Re: Cartoons, Anime, whatever you call em!
A spice used in Asian (but especially Indian) cooking, but that's not actually what I was referring to. There's a strange Japanese animated movie called Paprika. In the first part, in fact, you witness a dream sequence that involves a circus, a perpetually falling gun, and a shadow whose face you never see along with a hotel hallway that has a carpet that curves and contorts like a snake.Isolation wrote:Whats Paprika Ebly?

Well, I'm really bummed that Fox pulled the plug on King Of The Hill, just when I started to really appreciate it, in fact it's my favorite Prime time animated series. I like how it takes a less wacky approach to its humor unlike the Simpsons and Family GuyFlamboyant-Pencil wrote:Oh, forgot to mention, Futurama, which is renewed for a new season in 2010! 8D *Backflips of joy*

Isn't King Of The Hill still on? I see a lot of new-looking episodes on Fox, and I could have sworn I saw a commercial advertising a new episode.

Er?
This thread is about anime and cartoons, not nostalgia. It's also very old. I appreciate that you're interested in our discussions from way back when, but really you could have asked someone about this via PM rather than posting to revive the topic solely for this purpose.

Re: Cartoons, Anime, whatever you call em!
I'll save the thread with on-topicness, because I wasn't here before!
On the cartoon side, I've seen a lot of cartoons. Old ones that I have no business having seen with as much frequency as I managed. Popeye was the coolest thing when I was like, 4. And not because of that Robin Williams movie. Loony Tunes from the 70's were usually better in my opinion than their Disney counterparts from the same era. After that, Merry Melodies were also awesome. I'm also the only person I know who's seen all of the Jetsons and the Flintstones. And liked them. I've also seen basically everything else Hanna Barbara has put out, and most of it's dreck, but some of it was good.
Past the 80's (somehow I missed most of this decade), and through now the cartoons I greatly enjoyed would be, in no chronological order:
Ducktales
The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (both the original 1980's show and the 2003 series)
Darkwing Duck
Goof Troop
The Little Mermaid
Batman: The Animated Series
Justice League/Justice League Unlimited
Ed, Edd, and Eddy
Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers
Aladdin
The Powerpuff Girls
Hey Arnold
Mighty Max
Johny Bravo
Ben 10
Chowder
CatDog
Invader Zim
Dexter's Laboratory
Animaniacs
Duck Dodgers
Courage the Cowardly Dog
Time Squad
Life with Louie
Baby Loony Tunes
Freakazoid
Star Wars: Clone Wars (the first one that came out in 2003)
My Life as a Teenage Robot
Kim Possible
Tiny Toons
Bruno the Kid
Beetlejuice
Samurai Jack
Pinky and the Brain
The Replacements
Megas XLR
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Adventure Time
Teen Titans
The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack
I Am Weasel
Brandy & Mr. Whiskers
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Cartoons I thought were okay were:
The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa
Adventures of the Gummi Bears
The Grimm Adventures of Billy and Mandy
And cartoons I did not like at all are:
Sheep in the Big City
Evil con Carne
Ben 10: Alien Force
Quack Pack
TaleSpin
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends
Lloyd in Space
Johnny Test
Totally Spies
The Proud Family
These are only cartoons of which I've not only seen every episode of, but remember clearly enough to pass judgement on them. If I listed things I've seen half of, or several seasons of but are like 11 thousand seasons long (like the Simpsons, or SpongeBob SquarePants), we'd be here forever. There are a lot of cartoons I've seen pieces of. Basically, if it came on Television in America between 1988 to now, and it was animated, I've probably seen a few episodes of it. There are some honourable mentions for the shows I don't like though, in the form of every Seth McFarland cartoon ever. I haven't seen every episode of all three of them, but even I can't put myself through that much torture.
On Anime, I'm not a huge fan. I used to be. I used to be on a journey to watch every one of the top 200 anime on animenfo. That was a long time ago, and the current top 200 doesn't reflect what I was dealing with. For one, Full Metal Alchemist wasn't so high. While I'm on that subject, it doesn't deserve to be that high, it's that high because a bunch of weeaboos kept giving it a 10 in every category. But man, looking at that list again brings back memories, and I am here to share those memories in list form! Again, only the ones I've seen the entirety of and remember well.
Enjoyed Animes:
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien
Full Moon wo Sagashite.
Elfen Lied
Last EXILE
Death Note
Haibane Renmei
Fruits Basket
AIR TV
Rurouni Kenshin
Azumanga Daioh
Clannad
Bottle Fairy
Ichigo Mashimaro
Lucky Star
Chobits
Saikano
Card Captor Sakura
Hellsing
Seikai no Senki
Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan
Kanon
Mahoromatic
Mahoromatic TV 2
Higurashi no naku koro ni
Excel Saga
Kidou Tenshi Angelic Layer
Dragonball Z
Rozen Maiden
Dragon Ball
Ones I didn't like:
Fate/Stay Night
DearS
FLCL
And that's it really. So there we go!
