I'm just here for the orange soda.
Okay, but serious times. The characters are well thought out, the story arcs are intriguing and fun, thus it is the perfect webcomic.

Re: Why do you like Housepets?
I mainly love the comic for the cats, but i pretty much like everything else as well, but the cats are no doubt about it the prime reason. they are as normal as comic cartoon cats can get in my opinion. i so hope there will be Grape and Maxwell kittens <3
I'm also getting newspaper nostalgia/TV feelings as i read this comic. it's like reading weekend comics, but with alot of boom and aww in it, something that makes mornings awesome i find.

Re: Why do you like Housepets?
Saw some fanart of "Housepets" from another web comic and didn't really consider reading it. But then I saw the same comic featured on Wikifur, so I tried it.
The comic is genius! Many great puns, eye catching characters, well thought out and incredible stories. What's not to like? I have read many web comics. Found some interesting ones, but none like housepets. Rick Griffin is (to my knowledge) the best web comic writer I know.

Life is like a book, each day is a new page. You have the pen in hand, now what are you going to write? Are you going to write a horror, romance, a fantasy? But write carefully, for you are using a pen and pages cannot be erased.

i like the comic because it is a weel drawn. cute, and interesting furry comic. Also that the author isn't a prude who thinks they have to shove their furries in human clothes to avoid any "chuckle" perversion. if you think thats perverse...go back to the nunnery and look up any videogame character on Deviebt art

Re: Why do you like Housepets?
That's not really prudery so much as a stylistic choice.
Also, in the case of Freefall, it's perfectly justifiable in-universe why Florence wears clothes. She's trying to avoid excessive feelings of unfamiliarity to the humans she's around, after all.

Re: Why do you like Housepets?
I like Housepets for its intelligent humor, fun cast of characters, colorful art, and its ability to be funny without the need of violence or language, like Cyanide and Happiness for example (although I like that comic too).

I'm gonna have to disagree with you. At times, it's necessary to put clothes on anthropomorphic animals in order to set the tone for the story, usually to be serious. Some stories have managed to successfully ignore clothing and still have it fantasy-based, but usually they're more animal than human.Fidelo wrote:Also that the author isn't a prude who thinks they have to shove their furries in human clothes to avoid any "chuckle" perversion. if you think thats perverse...go back to the nunnery and look up any videogame character on Deviebt art

Bottom line: It made me laugh.
I don't analyze why I like it beyond that.

Re: Why do you like Housepets?
It's funny, it's cute and the artwork is awesome. Also invokes a feeling of innocence and being a carefree child which I have sorely missed in my teenage years. Mostly the former.
Re: Why do you like Housepets?
I like that it's a anthro themed comic that makes no efforts at all to capitalize on it's animal characters in order to cater to the furry fandom and in fact, does everything it can not to.

Re: Why do you like Housepets?
I like Housepets! because:
- I really like the drawing style. There was a lot of creativity used in every strip, even if it was something light.
- The plot os really entertaining. It's really entertaining and this story just keeps going in my head.
- So far in other comics, I liked mostly only one character. But in Housepets! they are all various and I really like them all. Each of them are unique.
- The author has a great sense of humour. Also he is very systematic and he keeps his updates on time.
- I love animals. And I think that my point of view on them is the same as it is shown in Housepets!
I guess I would say more. But I might say it wrong so I hope those reasons are enough

Re: Why do you like Housepets?
I'm not gonna make a list, but the art caught my attention and the writing keeps me with it. That's all I really think is necessary to get me interested in a strip.
Re: Why do you like Housepets?
The personalities of the characters are so unique and vivid they rival most characters I've read in many popular books/movies. The style is super cute, and well as a furry, It is very appealing to me. I like the idea of anthro-ized pets.

Thirded!
Not to say I refuse to read things that aren't as clean as Housepets! but I'm still glad someone has the guts to do it, and the skill to do it well.
EDIT: Oh no I've created a monster. Well, Dr. Prower did anyway.

have I said why I like housepets? originally I enjoyed it pretty much for the same reason i enjoyed calvin and hobbes. Kind of a best friend humour, plus the first arc being Imaginate it captured my imagination. From there, I kind of got hooked moreso than really enjoying it for any specific reason. For me the reasons seem to crop up here and there depending on the situation. I enjoy the wordy humour when it is wordy, and I enjoy the visual humour when it is visual, and I enjoy the relationships between the characters when they're evident, and I enjoy that it's not overwhelmingly 'furry' or something silly like that.
I was going to make a joke but then I did.
