Fine too, but honestly I'd prefer Psychout.

The nice thing is, though, we can still use "SYK". That's what I'll do...

I think that, if I could, I'd just shorten my name to "Housedog"...
But I'm fine with it the way it is, so... ARGH!

On the topic of changing things, I've always wondered why people can't change user titles here.

You mean like how the Mods all have something under their name, e.g. Dylan having "Box Man" under hiss name?Sleet wrote:On the topic of changing things, I've always wondered why people can't change user titles here.

You could have posted it rather than ask permission to answer the question presented in the thread title.

Re: How did you come up with your username?
right-o!
so, when i had my old username, people sometimes called me "SYK," which always made me think of the word "Psyke." this also stems from my facination with psychology (particularly psychophysics). also, Psykeout soundstotally cool

Mine it's my first name. Nuff said.

Re: How did you come up with your username?
An excerpt from my upcoming personal website:
My username comes from the Scandinavian character that is used as a vowel, and is a letter in the Danish, Faroese, and Norwegian languages. The reason why I chose it as my symbol is because of the webcomic Awkward Zombie. I noticed that the author's symbol is the pi symbol, and I thought to myself, "It'll be neat if I could have my own symbol." So, instead of designing an entirely new symbol, I just whipped out the character map for my computer and found "Ø."

Oh. Well then.

And then suddenly, Rick Griffin's computer froze, and he watched in horror as 573 name change requests struggled into his inbox, pushing and shoving each other out of the way for his attention. Panicking, he did the only thing he could to fight back.
That morning, all forum users were surprised to find that they had been renamed Jim-Jim.

But please be serious about it, don't ask him to change your name and then go, "Oh I think my old name was better. Can you change it back?"Tha Housedog wrote:Rick. Ask Rick.Sleet wrote:The moderators have to do it for you I think.

Yeah, it would be wise not to bother Rick unless there was no other option.Tha Housedog wrote:But please be serious about it, don't ask him to change your name and then go, "Oh I think my old name was better. Re: How did you come up with your username?
Hmm...Well, I always used to be isolated from others, and even though I'm one year younger than my peers, I feel like I'm in the older than them generation gap...(hence, lone). I like wolves, their ravaging nature, their pack alliances, and a leader among them all, but I'd prefer to be by myself (hence, lonewolf). I felt like "The" didn't sound right to me, so I chose "da" instead to show my immaturity (hence, dalonewolf) Finally, the day of my upcoming birthday, and my favorite number, is 25 (hence, dalonewolf25).

I think "Dork" would be more effective. And accurate.CaptainPea wrote:That morning, all forum users were surprised to find that they had been renamed Jim-Jim.

Re: How did you come up with your username?
tachyon the fringe was a really awesome game, and I knew what a tachyon is(And I am faster then light
, I can be hyper at times) And tachyon also shows that I am a sci-fi fan. The wolf part is from the fact that I like dogs, I have three. But I didn't want to be tachyon dog (although now I think that may have been better, I have more of a dog personality) but tachyonwolf is also my game call-sign and it needs to make my enemy fear me
so I did the wild dog, the wolf. So there you go.

Re: How did you come up with your username?
The "Fancy" half comes from the fact that I love absolutely formal dress. When I get the chance to do so, any character I make for something will be dressed in something formal, and I'm always willing to break out a shirt and tie if the situation somewhat calls for it.
The "Skunk" half comes from being one. :V
Really though, I wound up doing quite a bit of reading about skunks a while back when I was looking into getting one as a pet (ultimately decided against it because I wouldn't be around enough to take care of one). When the time came to pick something as a fursona, I remembered the personality traits for skunks, and how they were awfully similar to mine. Quite a natural fit. :3

Skunks make good pets too, you know. :3
