They do come out interesting sometimes.
Re: Captain Pea's Fantabulastic Thread For To Chat In
First of all, kudos to the members of this forum for having a modicum of maturity, such that when the chat threads were moved to Not the Comic, where post counts are incremented, people actually post less spam than they did before. It's like people know their posts have to count for more now as a result. But making a post in this thread only to talk about the thread itself would lead to me being banned again, and if there's one thing worse than being banned by Foxstar, it's being banned by Dissension (who technically can't ban me, but who's incredibly awesome and could probably use his awesomeness to persuade Rick to ban me just because I breathed wrong or something), so here's an idea I got earlier today.
What if "Doc" Emmett Brown of Back to the Future were the antagonist in the movie Speed? "When this baby hits below 88 MPH, you're gonna see some serious ****!"
I wonder what other crazy mash-ups could occur if the protagonist of one movie were the antagonist of another.

That scenario would result in a movie superior to the originals.
...
Especially in the case of Speed.
Also, I deleted some posts that violate the chat thread guidelines. It's not a super big deal, but let's try not to be spammy.

don't worry about it. Just a little rule about one word posts. Relax for now though. ^^ (and this is not mini-modding. Just explaining something. At least, it's not meant to be mini-modding...)
anyway, I really need to see both of those movies.

Re: Captain Pea's Fantabulastic Thread For To Chat In
Brian, I normally ask users to follow these guidelines when talking in here:
1. Don't talk about the chat thread.
2. Don't perform role playing actions or post greetings (or other salutations) unless they are included in a post that contributes to the discussion at large (which cannot be about roleplaying, obviously).
3. Do not create characters for use in the chat thread; come as you really are; we want to talk to you, not some fake person.
4. One-word and single-image posts will be deleted on sight, as will all other spam posts.
5. Respect the privacy of other users.
It's not a major thing and violating those guidelines won't lead to punishment unless it's habitual or breaks the forum rules. The main purpose of the boards is, after all, to have fun, and getting weighed down with very minor rules can sap the fun out of anything. That's not saying "disregard the rules," 'cause if that happens, I'll have to take a less-relaxed view of things. For now, though, don't be overly concerned about potentially breaking some obscure rule or guideline if that's going to hamper discussion.

I'm here. However, I'm trying to make the most meaningful posts possible, because I'm terrible at small talk, and because my post count is being incremented by this thread now.Brian wrote:I might as well talk to myself since there is no one here.
On a random note, I can't wait until dust-resistant paper is invented in 2015.

Brian, nobody has to leave. Dissension has nothing against you and was simply restating the minor rules ok the chat thread for your benefit. You're okay.
Re: Captain Pea's Fantabulastic Thread For To Chat In
Silly Brian. We're not asking you to leave. We're just asking you to keep a few simple rules in mind while you're here. They're not complicated at all, and there aren't many of them, but they're in place to ensure that we all (including you) have a fun time.Brian wrote:i'm sorry dissension. Also, Sleet, get the heck off your fluffy tail and watch the three Back to the Future movies, in order, as soon as is convenient!

1.) Topic is discussed
2.) Someone posts unwillingness to participate in the topic
3.) Topic dies
The moral: if you don't have anything to say, don't say anything until you do. It's OK to lurk a little, you guys. Not everyone can be expected to have something to say to every post, after all!

You might wanna reupload [some of] your avatars, Sleet.
Well if that's the moral, that means I shouldn't post here, then. Most of the time I just derail the topic then leave for the day now.

People don't get ignored, they just don't always get responded to. I read every post, and I'm very confident I'm not the only one.

Who thinks it's bad at all?Tha Housefox wrote:I saw part of the first Back to the Future movie. It's not all that bad.
Watch the first one, at least. I think it stands on it's own better than it does as a trilogy. Not that the other two movies are bad, they just took the franchise in different directions than the original was going for.mathgrant wrote:Watch the movies now, or your tail gets hydrated.
Also the rules of time travel make sense and are consistent in the first one (as a self contained work) but later the writers break or alter some of them.
Oh, and on the subject- What happened to the Marty that grew up with an assertive dad and healthy mom? We see him go back in time at the end of the movie, but he's never seen again, he's just replaced by the original Marty that grew up with worse parents. We can only assume that the original Marty kicked off a chain of alternate timelines branching from each-other, in which the Marty from the parent timeline replaces the Marty from it's altered timeline. Either that, or the rules of time travel are somehow not allowed to work that way.

There are intricate rules built into time travle that prevent a paradox from occuring. It can get quite complicated actually.
