Shes running into the same issues as Marion. At least she has better instincts than Marion.
And she found a way to save 100% on her car insurance by switching to bobcat!

My heart weeps for her.
Good for her for taking charge and initiative. She is not messing around. I mean I know she has real insider knowledge compared to Marion but this is the kind of thing he should have done instead of pretending it was a dream or an illusion.
Nothing a booster seat and some platform heels can’t solve.
This does raise a fairly obvious question of how does Poncho or any of the wolves get around to their various jobs?

This is kind of an issue I didn't think about for her to be honest.

A Cat and Squirrel try to drive
off to see the leading Milton;
Poncho tries to keep them alive
a plot that needs to be built on.
Her legs are to short for her now,
even when the seat is forward.
He’ll get them there, just don’t ask how
and friendship his ‘only’ reward.
The pair has become a trio on show
as Poncho joins the new pride
but, if things go as they might go…
will he be forced to pick a side?

Re: 2019/11/11 - Technical Difficulties
If Lois wants to go to right to the top, why is she going to Mr. Keene Milton? He just has an advisory role in the ECP. The real leader is Lana. Whatever orientation they had should've covered that (or even just watching the news).
There's no way to do it right now, but at least it's possible to make some modifications for her to drive again, unlike for Marion.dr_eirik wrote:Shes running into the same issues as Marion. At least she has better instincts than Marion.

Re: 2019/11/11 - Technical Difficulties
I think she did watch the news. Which tells her that Keene was always the leader until recently. Plus the fact that, if they met Lana in her office, she probably saw that photo. Lois, it seems, is a rarity. A character who PAYS ATTENTION.Champion Wallace wrote:If Lois wants to go to right to the top, why is she going to Mr. Keene Milton? Re: 2019/11/11 - Technical Difficulties
But Lana is just a figure head who knows little about magic and what not. They don’t care about the ECP at the moment, they care about magic and whatnot. Keene is a self taught expert which is why Fox and King went to him. They need real answers not social justice reform. Besides Lana was clearly less than helpful just from the phone call.Champion Wallace wrote:If Lois wants to go to right to the top, why is she going to Mr. Keene Milton? Re: 2019/11/11 - Technical Difficulties
Investigation time is now a go,
Will Keene give them answers though?
My guess for that remains a no,
Keene's heart is as cold as snow.
Lois looks like she's much smaller,
to get a ride, the thought appalls her,
Lois, relax, and can you be sure
That getting upset is quite your answer?
Lois, no, I don't think it is,
Though Poncho isn't quite a whiz,
He has a point, Lois, young Ms.,
Life's weird like that, it is.
I'm still wondering what Keene is up to,
Whether potions or spells or witch's brew,
This whole mess, everything's new,
And as for answers, they're still few.

Re: 2019/11/11 - Technical Difficulties
Not sure it's fair to call her just a figurehead. There's always a moment where someone who's been promoted into their mentors position realises that, whilst they taught you everything you know, they didn't teach you everything they know. Shady deals they kept under the counter emerge and they kept them hidden because they knew it would change how they were thought of. Keene knew Lana wouldn't approve...fenrirblack wrote: But Lana is just a figure head who knows little about magic and what not. Hey, if a kindergartener in our universe can steal a school bus, I'm pretty sure a bobcat in the Housepets universe could drive a car.

Same modifications used by people with dwarfism, booster seats to get up high and pedal extenders to let your feet reach. Not expensive stuff.Champion Wallace wrote:There's no way to do it right now, but at least it's possible to make some modifications for her to drive again, unlike for Marion.dr_eirik wrote:Shes running into the same issues as Marion. Marion, on the other hand, Would need to have something like a kids' electric ride-on car, modified with even smaller controls (but being electric, throttle will be fly by wire so you can put it anywhere.) I'd also suggest putting an amber rotating beacon on it, to make it obvious to other road users. Unfortunately, such a vehicle could not reach the speeds of normal cars, but it could go far faster than Marion could go on his legs alone. On the plus side, it may be road legal to drive without a license, and since Marion's license photo no longer looks anything like him...

Possibly my favorite part of this strip is how the ordinarily-mouthy Marion, who has been in this exact situation before, is just sitting there staring straight ahead in the last two panels.
He may be a ********, but he ain't stupid. He knows it's more than his life is worth to say a single word right now—particularly now that Lois has got teeth and claws.

Lois believes it's time to quit the scene
She's thought of someone who might know the truth
She wants to go confront the ferret Keene—
Demand of him an answer NOW, forsooth.
With Marion, returning to her car
Lois finds herself in some frustration
The wheel and pedals are a bit too far
While Marion is being oddly patient
This squirrel, not an idiot for sure
For once is keeping muzzle safely zipped
He'd best not smart off any more at her
Unless he wants his throat "untimely ripp'd".
Lois needs must accept Poncho's support
It's hard to make a short drive when you're short.

I love Marion's ever-so-slight change in expression in the third panel. I also love Lois look of frustration and resignation in the last panel. Looks like Poncho might be a part of the team as a duo is maybe becoming a trio. It is entirely possible, that the Miltons had nothing to do with either transformation, or there are two different causes for the transformations.

This could be an interesting encounter. What will Keene have to say when confronted with a growly (toothy, clawful) bobkitty rather than a less threatening dog or other ferret?
Especially one with Lois's temper. Really, she might have made a better wolverine.

So I am still confused - when Lois was TF into a bobcat - did she also become male -
Just as a reflection to Marion becoming female ?
his male character models are very telling - they usually have quite a muscular look.
As Lois does now as a bobocat.
Has Rick given any word or anything ? Just wondering

Re: 2019/11/11 - Technical Difficulties
It hasn't been mentioned anywhere just yet in the comic. The problem with figuring this out based on body shape is that there is very little gender dimorphism in Housepets, so female characters don't tend to have obvious physical characteristics.That_FOX wrote:So I am still confused - when Lois was TF into a bobcat - did she also become male -

That's a pretty good one to look at. If you didn't know already that Gale was female, you'd have a hard time guessing. Lois is diffidently athletic in her new body, though.
I tend to think that it would have come up already if it was going to, but perhaps even sassy-pants Marion has chosen to wait until Lois is a bit calmer.

Re: 2019/11/11 - Technical Difficulties
Been thinking that lately. Maybe some sort of spell was found and someone was using it, yet it was originally for someone very specific, who happened to be female, so that's being applied to everyone else now.Vertigo Fox wrote:Maybe it only turns people into female animals, regardless of whatever they were before. Unless it was explicitly stated, I don't think anyone could have told Marion is a female either, except maybe in the first panel of Treehouse of Horror.

Poor Poncho. I know I've said this like every update but this time I actually really mean it. He legitimately looks hurt by Lois's accusation. Aww, Poncho has feelings. He is destined to be hurt by strong female catwomen.
Poncho: I thought we had something special. I let you pet me.
Lois: It was a one time thing.
Pocho: Not to me.

Marion already did that so no sense in repeating ourselves.Nobody wrote:I really do enjoy seeing Lois take charge. I always hate it in movies when every character runs around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

I know props for Marion for not saying something super inappropriate and sassy. I couldn't do it. It would slip out so fast. "It's get worse." On the other comparative hand, Lois as a Bobcat is a very, very BIG Bobcat!! She's Poncho's size, almost Gale's. In the natural world, at least in North America, bobcats aren't that big.
Or maybe they are. This is Rick's World, after all.
Re: 2019/11/11 - Technical Difficulties
That sounds to be the best thing to do now, give a visit to Keene and let him speak... Agree with Lois also about that Poncho and the other wolves are unwitting accomplices of what the ferrets are doing... Oh, typical animal problems with facing things made by humans for humans. She's bigger than Marion when he tried to drive his car, but still, not enough big. How's going to do Poncho to give them a ride?
