"Thank you, darling," said Honey, sitting down. She was still able to stay in character, but what Heth said had hurt her.

Oh, she knew that he hadn't meant to, he didn't know what she had wanted to hear. She didn't blame him, and managed to keep her feelings hidden, but that didn't change the fact that it had hurt her. Why didn't males know such things inherently? Why did females have to be so BLUNT with them? It was so frustrating and insulting. Why couldn't they pick up on hints?

Well, he was only one, and while she didn't know what Max had said, there were others there. She waited to hear what they would say.

Vanilla could tell, though, and now SHE felt awkward. What was she supposed to do? Cater to how insecure Honey was being? That would be condescending. But risk hurting her even worse by ignoring it? Vanilla turned red.

Heth mulls over what he said a bit ". . . . I'm sorry. I tried to not come off as rude for once and I failed, well at least I feel it was kinda rude in hindsight. Maybe I should either think for a few more minutes before I speak next time, or just not speak at all, again sorry just. . . pay no mind to what I say." there's a reason I hate socialising and this is one of them. . .I always say rude things he then sighs and stares off into the distance

Oh, great, now he's upset, thought Honey. I don't want anyone to be upset on my birthday.

"Her highness thinks it would be diverting to play a game. What do her subjects say?" said Honey, doing her best to stay in character.

Vanilla didn't really care what anyone thought anymore. "I second the motion," she said.

"Motion seconded. All in favor?" said Honey.

Aethon walked back into the kitchen, arms behind him. He was now the only other one in there "So....can I stay in here?"

Rendak sighed and wished he wasn't tired so, as he'd enjoy roleplaying being a faithful subject, roleplaying had always been a favorite pass time of his, he also noticed how well Honey is trying to stay in character.

Awesome was looking toward Honey now, seeming to be at least a little interested in what was going on. It seemed strange, and he could barely understand what was happening. He didn't think anybody ever did this type of thing out of film, especially not out of fun. Still, looking back to Alice, he said: "I imagine it's easier then it sounds..."

Sly was smiling at Honey, Vanilla and Heth. He was now leaning back in the side of the door-frame to the kitchen, looking relaxed and almost like one of the older brothers at parties, who thought himself too cool to join in with this thing. Still, he was enjoying the show. Something about hearing and seeing the pets act so 'posh' made him smile. He wasn't about to join in, at least not without a helping hand, because roleplaying really wasn't his thing. Still, it was a great show.

"The princess is not good at games that involve dice," said Honey, thinking it would be funny to refer to herself in the third person while saying something self-deprecating. "She prefers a more active sort of game."

"Pardon me for taking of the liberty, your highness," said Vanilla, "but would it be out of line for me to suggest that what her highness wishes is something more along the lines of a live-action role-playing game?"

"It would," said Honey, making Vanilla's ears perk up.

"It WOULD?"

"Since you have not told me who YOU are," said Honey.

Vanilla rolled her eyes. Naturally. "Surely her highness recognizes her most faithful courtier, Mademoiselle de Tortue?"

Honey looked at her again. "Of course. Her highness was simply testing you. Come then, loyal subjects, who has come to pay homage to the princess?"

Sly smiled and leaned back on the wall. He looked around the room, before walking forward. "What the heck...first times for everything..." He began, on full display, seeming as if uncaring though secretly wanting the crowd to see him. He walked towards Honey, before standing by the side of Heth, and knelt down on 1 knee. "This lowly warrior of eastern lands wants to, erm, pay his respects to the fair princess of the kingdom." He said, eyes closed, thinking about how silly he must look and sound.

"It is a great diversion to have a wizard in my kingdom," said Honey. "Your skills may prove amusing to witness."

She kept in character, as a very dignified, not to say snooty, princess--perhaps not unlike what Vanilla would have done? Vanilla wasn't sure if this was a satire of herself or not--but Honey liked it when Aethon kissed her paw.

Honey cleared her throat audibly. "It's 'highness', for those who do not know their protocol. And you WILL show your princess the proper respect, sir, and not take liberties. You are, after all, not a prince."

She winked at Aethon to let him know that she wasn't really offended, just staying in character.

Too bad he's gay, she thought to herself. Then the next thing she thought was, Where did THAT come from?

Sly swayed his tail as he stood up, trying rather hard to stay in character and not allow a smile come to his face. "A fair princess of royal blood is much like a rose in a stranger's garden," Sly began, trying his best to do an eastern accent. "One may admire that rose all they desire, although gaining that Rose is no easy task. Royal blood's hard to gain after birth." Sly ended his words of insight with a smile, although folded his arms, as if trying to act serious about his complements in comparing the throne to the most beutiful of flowers.

Honey squinted at Sly. "The princess isn't quite sure what the warrior means. Perhaps he would care to enlighten her?"

Vanilla found the rose analogy extremely beaten to death, but said nothing. She did wonder why Honey was acting so strangely, though.

Sly looked towards Hobey, before bowing his head lightly. Once more, he tries his beat to pull an Eastern accent. "A princess is, by law, only able to marry a prince, as you said yourself. By some gift of the heavens above, a princess is often more beautiful then any else on the kingdom, and you my highness are no exception." Sly kept his head bowed to show his respect. "It is rather similar to a Rose that nobody else may hold."

Awesome was well focused on the role-playing. It was obviously still confusing him a little bit. Still, as Alice spoke, he looked towards her, a little shocked by her positioning. "Erm...I don't think so..." He said, looking back towards the pets in the centre. It was obvious by the look in his eye he found it to look interesting though. "What about you?"

Honey's ears perked up. She had not said anything about a princess only being able to MARRY a prince. She almost turned red, but then stifled a giggle at Sly saying "my highness" instead of "your highness". "You are a flatterer, sir," she said. "Take care your flattery is not only sincere but leads you to good ends."

To Aethon she said, "The princess is merciful. Clemency is granted. Who else greets their princess today?"

Honey smiled, but tried to keep it subtle. "The princess is curious as to how specifically she is a beauty."

While waiting for his response, Honey noticed Awesome stepping forward. He seemed nervous. Trying to set him at his ease, she said, "Welcome, honored guest--and whom might you be?"

Vanilla could remember back to when Honey would have used improper grammar. She didn't buy that Sly was sincere, but she waited to hear what he would say anyway.

"I think the dress matches your fur colour perfectly, although above all, your yellow eyes are outlined impressively. They shine like topaz, and radiate an aura of royal... beauty." He tried to emphasize the word 'beauty' as if to give it more meaning. Sly really trying to enter the role-play even more. He meant what he said, even if he would've used very different language.

Awesome, on the other hand, bowed towards Vanilla, more like a bow a knight would give to somebody of much higher importance. "I-I am a knight from the south by the name of, erm, Awesome..." He began, eyes tightly shut. "It is great news all over the country of this day, and I am simply here to pay my respects..."

Honey couldn't help blushing at Sly's compliments, especially about her eyes. "You are a charmer, good warrior," she said. "But as you said, only a prince can marry a princess," she added teasingly.

Vanilla's ears perked up in bewilderment at Awesome bowing to HER instead of to Honey. "Um...does the knight need a new prescription?" said Vanilla, which made Honey giggle.

Heth thinks for a bit before deciding on a character, but quickly gets into character once he decides what to do. Adopting a subtle accent he begins"Forgive me for being the only one not complimenting on thine look, but as naught but a priest I am forbidden from such acts as they betray one's code." Plus it gives me an excuse not to try and compete with others he then realises he was a bit late in deciding his character after seeing Aethon's actions and mumbles to himself in character "Must one have such indecency in front of others" I think he's getting TOO into character. . .

Honey was completely taken aback. She had not anticipated this at ALL. It was making her uncomfortable.

She pulled out of Aethon's arms, and once she had her mouth back, she was no longer able to speak in character.

"Wow, I, uh...wow.... Aethon, I--wow.... I think maybe we should tone it down a bit. I mean, this is a role-playing game, not real life. And we're not the only ones playing in it, right? Wow...."

Her mind was full of emotions, such that she was extremely confused. She didn't know how she felt about Aethon's kiss. She figured he was probably just caught up in the moment, was just a little too into his character. I mean, he was gay, right? It would have meant nothing to him.

And yet...she had LIKED it. Very much. In a way she was stunned at this revelation--she had ENJOYED her first kiss on her birthday. Rather, her first kiss EVER, really. Aethon was...actually a very good kisser. Not to mention kind of cute. And it was sweet of him to give her her first kiss on her birthday--this was better than any of the other presents combined.

But...he was GAY. There was nothing in it. It was all in character. How could he do that to her? That was a horrible thing to do! It was enough to RUIN her birthday! Why did her first kiss EVER...on her BIRTHDAY...have to be completely EMPTY?

On the other hand, why did she CARE so much? To be sure, Honey liked shipping in her role-playing games--not something that was easy to get when she mostly just role-played with Vanilla--and she could get into character sometimes. But it had been almost as empty then as it was now. So why was she a mess of emotions now? Was it because it WAS her birthday?

Or...was it because she was growing up? Was it because she was realizing the fact that she didn't have a boyfriend? Was she MISSING that? She'd never had one before, but...was she feeling left out? She did notice Max and Vanilla a lot, but they were just FRIENDS. So what reason did Honey have to be jealous?

She tried to push it to the back of her mind and continue with the game. Vanilla noticed this, though. She was completely taken aback by Aethon's conduct toward her sister too, and suddenly felt very protective. But as Honey didn't seem to be TOO shaken up by it, Vanilla managed to keep her cool. But if he did ANYTHING to hurt Honey, she was ready to give him a piece of her mind she hoped he would have a good appetite for.
