And who exactly doesn't know about Google?

There is no money because they'd be promoting other companies instead. As paranoid as this may sound I think they bought it for an entirely different purpose...but advertisement is out of the question. So if they promote other companies, the they're loosing money, either that or loosing to DuckDuckGo. Which if you ask me would be nice, but isn't all that plausible.

Other companies pay Google to run ads. Advertising revenue is pure profit.

For most of the last week, #WTFU (where's the fair use?), #BringBackLostPause, and #BringBackNobleSenpai were all trending tags on both YouTube and Twitter.

Same goes with Google play. A lot of developers say if you want to be an app developer, the safe options are Windows Phone Store or Apple's App Store.

Why?

Because if you infringe the GPlay rules, they delete your app forever without saying what you done wrong (even you lose acces to your app). At the third time they delete you an app, they ban your developer account forever.
And you can't make another developer account with the same credit card, or name.

So anyways, I don't trust Google, nor most of the larger companies, not that it matters.

Does anyone know how to make a WindowsAudioFeed without static reverb? That'd be nice. And, it'd also be very useful.

Google's AI "AlphaGo" is leading 3 to 1 in the go match against top player Lee Sedol. Last game starts in 11 hours, and I am so excited to be seeing this!

wait, really? I hadn't heard of that. AI is really advancing
(for anyone who doesn't know, Go is a game similar to chess in theory, but the specific rules mean it has a lot more possible moves, so an AI that can plan far enough ahead to beat a champion player is a big step forward.)

I didn't even hear about it until the fourth game. Lee pulled off a great sequence leading up to a move that the Chinese Commentator described as God's play, and it caught AlphaGo by surprise. It didn't realize it was in error until about 10 moves later. The DeepMind team got some great info on what AlphaGo does when it falls behind. It's Lee's only win in the match so far. It's like watching Deep Blue vs Garry Kasparov, but the machine learning field has progressed so much farther! It's such an exciting time!

It varies depending on the country, which just makes it a bigger mess. Ours is about 8 months this year.

It really doesn't benefit anybody anyways, farmers actually hate it more than anyone else...except maybe...clock workers?...But that last parts just a guess. It causes casuallities, increases accidental death rates, and forces exhaustion without reason.

I solve the problem by staying up past the change. I lose an hour of being awake and get the same amount of sleep.
downside is I do the same when it ends so I don't get the extra hour of sleep there. but i do get an extra hour to do stuff.

And I think it's Indiana that's the one where the state itself is split into counties that recognize DST and those that don't.

Some counties in Florida (the Crestview area, in particular) are in the Central Time Zone and the rest of the state is in Eastern Time. x3

Is it just me or does it feel like we've been talking about this for a week? On a plus note, I meant within the state Disssension, if you go twenty miles either way the time gap should be so small you probably wouldn't notice it. And hey, even if it's midnight, daylight is still daylight...of course it still does not make sense to keep it around but I don't think it is going anywhere.

It's not that gradual. It's basically just a hard set border.

They should just make time zones continuous. Separate the world into 1/240 of a degree longitudinal arcs and have each time zone off by a second. So the world is 1 second ahead/behind if you go a few dozen kilometers east or west.

THAT WOULDN'T BE CONFUSING AT ALL.

Yes it would, because we'd have to change everything, and ditch every program ever written to take care of clock times, plus change our satellites. Then for analog clocks, we'd have to change manually. It would also be hard for calendar experts to move all of the holidays back to their appropriate places, as dates would be changed relatively.
