Rick's non-comic Housepets art
Re: Rick's non-comic Housepets art
Quick commercial - since I don't range wide on the internet, I much appreciate folks who post Rick's art from other sources. Thank, chums.

Don't forget he has a female form, though that probably wouldn't factor in anyway.Amazee Dayzee wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18, 2020 3:17 am I bet he is just happy not to be as short as he was before.
Funny to say they're both androgynous to keep the gender reveal ambiguous like canon.
http://valito.deviantart.com/ my deviant gallery, nope there's no housepets in it

Really? Marion does look like he has breasts, similar to when Grape was drawn in this style. Similar to how Lois has a pretty male-looking buffness to this body.
Granted, said body type has been used for characters like Gale in the Housepets style.

In his defense, I wouldn't be able to tell how feminine or masculine their bodies are until someone pointed it out to me.

Re: Rick's non-comic Housepets art
In regards to the 2nd part of your comment, I think the two best examples of that body type in the comic are Gale, as you said, and Miles, with their most recent appearances linked for convenience. To me, it looks like with that body type, generally the pectorals are more rounded/drawn with slightly softer curves on the female, and there's a tuft of hair near the groin on the male that's absent on the female. Of course, that's not always the case in the comic, shown by this page where there essentially are no differences, though granted it was drawn 2 years ago and his style for the comic has changed slightly. The differences I just mentioned are more exaggerated in the style of the piece being discussed, in addition to the female body having less-defined abdominal muscles than the male.
Full disclosure, I'm not the biggest fan of Rick's more "mature" style as it tends to toe the sfw/nsfw line much closer than I like.
I laid out some of the differences I can spot above.Amazee Dayzee wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 11:45 pm In his defense, I wouldn't be able to tell how feminine or masculine their bodies are until someone pointed it out to me.

But like I said, I wouldn't be able to see them if I didn't have them specifically pointed out to me.
Re: Rick's non-comic Housepets art
From his introduction, Miles always had a muscular physique. Over time, Rick's brought in other buff characters (Mungo, for example, or Cerberus) and, as his style has changed, some of the older, more "rubbery-cartoonish" characters have "buffed up" (Fox being a notable example or even Daisy). It's been kind of a general direction his other depictions have gone for a while now.CuriousCnidarian wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 1:35 amIn regards to the 2nd part of your comment, I think the two best examples of that body type in the comic are Gale, as you said, and Miles, with their most recent appearances linked for convenience. That actually does look really adorable despite the fact that it is supposed to be really spooky! For some reason I'm not worried that Were-Peanut will end up hurting me.
I don't think Grape is either.

This was my request, and I love how it turned out. Right down to the tiny fox tail under his paw.

To be fair, some animals do grow up with having a condition known as polydactyly so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to see one pet or animal one day have an extra digit.

Kix/Kitsune (Kixsune) being one couple that will be canon along with probably Fungo ( ) confirmed. Maybe.
Re: Rick's non-comic Housepets art
You know, for some reason I was going to post my request by Rick, but didn't want to spoil the book. I feel silly. X3
Thanks, D-Rock for posting these. Loved the Grape/Max one i requested, the Peanut/Tarot kissies and the Rufus/Kitty Max <3
also got a kick out of the Jess/Zach towel one.

How do folks get Rick to draw a request? Something I've missed out on, I guess.
Re: Rick's non-comic Housepets art
Patreon!
He does requests every month.

Also keep in mind that he does it on a request basis. While I think he promises one sketch per requester ever 4-6 months (I think) that number has extended a touch as he's had more patrons. He also tends to do them on a theme, though that's often just a word, like "Wet" or "Summer" or other basic idea.

Also, he said even if you request something, you might not actually get it. (There are rules, people!)dr_eirik wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 12:12 pm Also keep in mind that he does it on a request basis. It can’t be.
It just can’t.
Is this the fabled Alpha-Housepets that Rick made with his brother?!

Yes. Yes it is. I found it on like, page 50 of Google on some site with a name I can't remember which was, by the way, filled with pop-ups while searching for something else entirely.

Hey, that’s actually how I discovered Housepets. Maybe the tenth page of looking up random wolf pictures.
