Well, her real name IS 'Princess Periwinkle' and the ancient cats saw purple as 'the Royal color'.

Also Fire Emblem, when it comes to the inheritance of hair colour, at least in Fates and Awakening (heck, in Fates, it's even that the child inherits the hair colour from the mother).
