Well, times has changed, and I'm pretty sure youngsters nowadays stick to Facebook pages or Twitter if they want to discuss about something in general. And the myriad of instant messengers if they want private conversations.

This forum is far from dead though. Admittedly we're not as busy as we have been in the past but we're by no means in any danger of dying.

Housepets! is far too awesome to ever lose its fandom!

Well why don't keep this thread going by talking about this video which discusses one of the most confusing topics when it comes to films. What is a remake, and what is an adaptation?

That's great to hear. Two of the forums that I have been visiting, one is closed so nobody can post now and the other fell out from existence. (So nothing can be recovered from that forum other than what the Wayback Machine has)

It's nice the existence of gravity waves has been confirmed, but all the headlines a lá "it took 100 years to prove Einstein right" are just painful. Deflection of light by the sun was observed within a few years after publication of his work.

People will write any headline they can to incorporate Einstein.

I mean technically it took this long to prove him right... about this...

There's that!

It gets silly if the news act like heretofore there hasn't been non-theoretical, real-world evidence of Einsteinian physics. They have it right in front of them whenever their GPS places their car on the correct spot of the map.

All in due time. In due time. 8-)

Anyway, I guess I'll start with the first story that happened. If you're looking for one that I'm directly the one being yelled at/made a fool of, sorry, but I'm not the star of this one. :P

It was our first weekend with our company commanders (drill sergeants). I honestly can't remember what we were actually doing at the time, but one of our company commanders caught a recruit talking to himself or something. So he takes the recruit, makes him stand at a window and look at a reflection of himself, and say, "no no, I'm not crazy, you are" to the reflection. So the recruit, in a very monotone voice, starts doing that. After saying it twice, the company commander tells him to stop and says to put some feeling into it. "NO no, I'M not crazy, YOU are!" So for something like 10 minutes, the recruit, putting as much exaggeration into it as possible, just stands there, saying that to his reflection.

In the last week of boot camp, we actually have a chance to sit down with our company commanders (as a group) and talk with them like normal people and ask pretty much whatever we want. Well, our lead company commander ended up admitting that he had to leave the room when that happened and just stood in the ladder well laughing his butt off over it. After regaining his composure, he went back in the room, and after hearing "NO no, I'M not crazy, YOU are!" just once, had to leave the room again and laugh some more. He ended up sending one of the other company commanders into the room and had the recruit stop just so he could talk to us.

Don't worry, I have some stories about me if you want them, but I felt like that one was appropriate because it was the first one.

That's because they aren't bands. :P

Lost Pause is a major YouTube gamer that was recently the center of a large legal dispute with Google.

Ninety 9 Lives is a major EDM-exclusive record label owned by Ian Stapleton (a.k.a. Ssundee).

Google bought YouTube last year and decided just last month to finally implement their own Community Guideline policy changes. The result was a two week or so transition phase during which Google's Content ID bots were going rampant, putting strikes on hundreds of big channels, even on videos that had already been hit with strikes and had been resolved. One such case was Lost Pause. His channel received a strike for a 2 year old video that had already been reviewed by YouTube admins twice, and on another fan-made video of a dancing Gmod model of his channel mascot. Because he had then received three strikes, his channel was completely deleted without warning, forcing him to move to his second channel and resulting in a loss of over 500,000 subscribers. After a week of massive amounts of hate-mail and angry Twitter comments from his fans as well as dozens of video rants from his fellow YouTubers (TheAnimeMan, Misty Chronexia, Aki Dearest, Einshine, The Nostalgia Critic, and Drama News Alert to name a few), the CEO of YouTube herself announced that his channel would be reinstated after a two-week upload ban. A few days later, such strikes on several other such channels (Markiplier, I Hate Everything, Channel Awesome, Defi Brilator, and many more) were dropped as well. For most of the last week, #WTFU (where's the fair use?), #BringBackLostPause, and #BringBackNobleSenpai were all trending tags on both YouTube and Twitter.

How did I miss all of that?!!

Wait why would they complain to those people and not Google, I realize Google doesn't have any easy contact methods but still. Plus why on earth would they want YouTube, that makes no sense! There's hardly any money in it for them plus the guys who ran it originally(I wouldn't expect them to give that up>
